I don't think healthy ang 1,000 calories per day. Dito na papasok sa starvation mode ang katawan sabi sa mga health articles. I use the Spark People website and they discourage going lower than 1,200 calories per day.I read The Fitness Blackbook blog and ang napulot ko dun, kapag nag-plateau ang weight, dagdagan mo nang kaunti calorie intake mo for a couple of weeks, tapon babaan mo ulit. So if you have been consuming 1,200 calories for months ang nag-plateau ka na, up mo to 1,500-1,700 calories for 3 weeks. Kapag napansin mo na nag-gain ka (konti lang ha. 1-2 lbs lang siguro), saka mo daw ibaba uli sa 1,200. That should break the plateau weight daw. Sounds legit naman. I bookmarked that blog na.HTH
