hi sis cldy_1981! sa SM North. generic na ice cube tray lang siya tapos nakapatong yung tray dun sa container niya, with cover rin siya, so once frozen na yung ice or for our case, yung baby food, puwede mo na siya lagay dun sa container. :-)  16 ice cubes lahat puwedeng gawin, less than ph200 lang ata sya if i'm not mistaken, basta affordable siya.

Thanks sis! Will look nga sa department store ng SM Megamall, for sure naman meron din sila nung stock ng sa SM North :) Ang mahal kasi nung specialized na food cube trays... :) Kaka-excite mag-plan for our babies' first solids noh? :)

sis cldy_1981, bumili kame ng organic brown rice sa supermarket then sa palengke lang pinagiling. parang cerelac hitsura nya after magiling. :) try muna namin yung ratio na 1:2, then if still thick, gagawing 1:4.  excited na ako! pwede naman i-heat yung bm, huwag lang i-microwave. 1tbsp will do na siguro per meal. so like 2tbsp is good enough for the day na. 2wks to go!

iristacey sorry di ko naintindihan yung process ng pagluto ng rice... if you'll use BM do you boil it? tapos chaka ihalo sa powdered/ground rice?  ???  ;D

^agree on pureed food. by 7 1/2 - 8 mod i started introducing thicker consistency with a little chunks to my baby's food already.

and hinay rin sa pagbigay ng mga food sa labas as a baby's daily RDA of sodium is mababa lang. pagpalo nila ng 18mos before their salt consumption is the same as adults palang.

I read in "wholesome" website na pwede din for a perfect rice na i-cook brown rice sa rice cooker then puree after. Palpak kasi ng mga food processor namin, di kaya grind to powder yung rice. Thing is, nung puree ko na cooked rice, di cya super smooth like cerelac. Para cya congee. Ok [textspeak!] ba ganun for 5 month old?

Basta never ako gumamit ng mga pang pureed, Fork is the best tool you could use, kasi ganun naman talaga ang pagkain, hindi pureed diba, may texture talaga.

Kaya I am not for yung gigilingin pa ang rice bago lutuin, mas maganda yung ilugaw ang rice as it is, then konting mashed ng fork, at least bits bits pa din, hindi parang cerelac ang consistency.

I don't use processors or blenders in making my baby's food, fork lang talaga.

:-) Good luck sis and enjoy ha. :-)

iwawarm lang BM, not boil it :) what i do before is i mix the BM + cereals then put it in the warmer or hot water, then add more cereals if i want it thicker

you can buy organic brown rice cereal sa healthy options. you can add milk or water lang.
I'm happy with my purchase of baby magic bullet, walang hirap magprocess ng baby food lalo na kung small portion lang ng veggie and may kasama na rin storage containers for large processing

just wanted to share a recipe i put together for our son inspired by Moroccan tagine dishes, so this is a little sweet and spicy

1 - heat olive oil in a skillet, add chicken breast cut into small bite size pieces, chopped carrots and onions.  (this is to ensure the carrots are very soft when the dish is finished)
2 - add spices: pepper, cinammon and ground ginger
3 - add fruit (I used chopped peaches), mix thouroughly. Add just a small bit of hot water to extract juices from the fruit and veggies.
4 - cover and heat. Dadami pa ang water whilst it's covered. Optional: add a teaspoon of brown sugar.

Serve with small portion of rice. My 10.5 mos son eats about 1 tbsp of rice and 2 tbsp of the above. Mukhang nasarapan naman kasi di nya inaayawan. Adults can have the above too, just add salt to the dish.

^you cant put seasoning except for spices and herbs FYI. you can play with herbs/spices like pepper, dill, marjoram, thyme etc for the meantime.

Is it safe to thin out baby's food with soup stock? Like chicken or beef stock from bones? Or dapat bm lang gagamitin sa lahat?

And when do you start letting your baby drink some juice? Or dapat fruits lang muna talaga?

^if you don't put salt into your stock, using that is perfectly ok. You can also throw in some veggies (mirepoix: onion, carrots and celery) & herbs when you make the stock for added flavor

I started giving my daughter solids this past sunday, 4 days shy of turning 6 months. We are doing BLW and i first gave her a banana,  a third of a banana. She lovedit!!! Unfortunately it got slippery and she ended up taking bites by leaning over the tray. We tried squash and carrots and she loved them too! Today she got to try a fresh peach. I love her expressions everytime she tries something new :) i also started giving her organic teething biscuits from healthy options. BLW is super messy but I'm giving it a shot as babies get to experience more textures and tend to be less picky eaters. I'll stick with fruits and veggies for a few weeks before we move on to breads, i'm thinking of topping with light pesto or hummus. My fears of her choking are gone, if she happens to take a big ite she just spits out the piece.

My yaya is amazed, she's never had anyone do BLW before, she said my daughter acts like she's been eating for months na
