ako mga after a week si bebe nagstart magCD. ang system namin prefold/lampin+cover.. madalas kasi magpoop newborn, eh [textspeak!] covers wipeable so reuse ko lang. kaya di ganun kadami laundry, kundi puro prefold at lampin, madali matuyo pati covers. Up to now na 1month na si bebe more on that system kami 1-2 times ko lang sya pinapagamit ng pockets. yung prefold may fleece or microsuede liner pa yun para staydry at pansalo ng poop. para madaling alisin..

mommies gusto ko matutunan ang paggamit ng CD, may tutorial ba sa youtube? like yung tamang paglaba, lalo na kung first time gagamitin? I'm giving birth on Sept. kaya gusto ko alam ko na siya gamitin. Sa starters ilang cd dapat bilin at inserts? difference between microfiber at bamboo?

saw some charlie banana cd at sm ang mahal pala! i would like to order in Alva, kaso hindi ko alam kung paao makakarating sa akin? at ang tax paano ba computation nun?

Dacian - pocket diaper ba yan sis? Mashadong expensive pa yan. Try Alva diaper from thrifty mama shope or if you prefer bamboo fabrics, try mo Babyleaf diaper. I think both go for 300-350 each.

anjfree - you can usually track the shipping sis. May binigay sayong tracking number? Did they use EMS as a mode of shipping?

Gusto mo direct from Alva mag order sis? They usually ship via EMS which takes 2-3 weeks to get here and iba-iba ang pinapating na custom and taxes depending sa mood ng customs officer sa post office hehe. If you're lucky, P40 pesos lang singil sayo but you have to pick it up sa post office mismo. You can also join GroupBuys ng MCNP, we usually buy from ThirftyMamaShop ng Alva and pag bulk, we get it at a lower cost.

^OK naman yung double gusset pero parang same lang sila with single gussets. Unless magkaroon ka ng problem with the single gussets in terms of leaking poops, then double gussets will help with that.

medyo confusing nga ang alva website. yung series series codes lang yun ng designs. basically, there's 4 types of alva:

1.) regular or 3.0
- series a, d, e, f, g, h, j, m, n, y, b (solid colors), and minky
- with suede or microfleece inner lining
- no inner gussets, no flaps on pocket opening

2.) 4.0 or color snaps
- series c
- with suede inner lining
- flap pocket, front and back opening
- double gussets
- snap-on inserts

3.) bamboo
- with bamboo inner lining
- comes with bamboo inserts

4.) newborn
- comes in snaps or velcro closures
- sized for newborn or smaller babies

with regards sa pano malalaman if nasa PO na ang package, they will send you a notice (letter/card) na may package ka na kailangan i-pick up pero usually late sila nagse-send ng notice. if it was sent via ems, you can check the tracking info and then if it says nasa PO na, you can call the PO to confirm kung ready na for pick up or go there na agad to pick up if you really can't wait. hehe. pero minsan hindi din kailangan i-pick up. sometimes they deliver to your house if maliit lang yung package.

btw, if ayaw niyo ma-hassle, buy from local sellers na lang. marami ng nag-o-offer ng iba-ibang brands. usually kaunti lang naman ang difference if you buy from local sellers or direct sa manufacturer especially if few pcs. lang. sa group buy naman mas makakamura talaga dahil may bulk discount. yun lang, you have to wait for group buys ng brands na gusto niyo. hindi din naman kasi lagi meron tapos limited lang din ang slots. kailangan matiyempuhan mo talaga.

^thank you mommies for enlightening mo. Siguro i'll settle with double gusset ng Alva and look for a reseller na lang. I'll look for vids na lang kung paano ang tamang pag wash and strip. Hopefully matutunan ko din siya. Btw yung mismong cd ba pwede naman labhan sa washing machine? Btw, may nababasa akong LINERS ano purpose nun?

sis, take note lang about alva 4.0, some moms (including me) may issue with the elastic/garter on the back part. parang kulot kulot kasi siya na ewan. gusto ko nga sana talaga ang features ng alva 4.0 pero dahil dun sa garter, i destashed my 4.0s. also, the green one has a history of delamination. maybe you can buy 1 or 2 lang muna para ma-try. baka naman kasi you wouldn't mind pala yung garter or baka naman inayos na ng alva yung issue na yun and mas maganda na ang garter na makukuha mo.

washing/stripping: maraming iba-ibang methods. you can search na lang, sis, and then figure out kung anong pinaka best for you. yes, pwede sa washing machine ang mismong cds. yung stripping huwag mo muna problemahin yun, sis. it's not really a regular thing that you're supposed to do. it's just a troubleshooting solution if kakailanganin lang. if maayos naman paglalaba ng cd, you probably would only need to strip on rare occasions, if at all.

liners: this is not always necessary but there are some instances when you might want to use liners. if hindi stay-dry yung diaper or insert mo (for example, alva bamboo diapers have bamboo inner lining which is not stay-dry), you might want to use a microfleece/microsuede liner para maging stay-dry siya. some people use disposable liners to catch poop and prevent stains on the diapers and inserts. yung iba naman pag may rashes si baby gumagamit ng liners para hindi malagay yung rash ointment/cream sa diapers or inserts. some rash ointments/creams kasi can get stuck in the fibers of the cloth diaper or insert and then mababawasan ang absorbency tapos it will cause repelling. it's easy to make reusable liners from microfleece/polar fleece blankets. mura lang. nakabili ako sa surplus shop for P175 ata. ginupit gupit ko lang siya and i was able to get around 20-30 liners from it. medyo malalaki pa yung nagawa ko. if you cut it smaller, mas marami ka magagawa.

Hi sisses, I think it's my lucky day today. Got the Alva diapers from Makati Post Office and no customs charge! yipee, PhP40 lang binayaran ko.
