Hello! Im so glad I found this thread! Ive been interested on the cohen diet recently because i feel really bad about how much weight i gained. I just got married about 5 months ago and since the wedding gained 25lbs! Its even more than the weight i lost when i was preparing for the wedding. People are also saying that it will be hard to get pregnant if im overweight. So im considering talaga the cohen diet. My only concerns are...

- if you get rejected, wala nang money back?
- what if i get pregnant after i meet my target weight? Wont i gain back all the weight again? Bala masayang lang :-(

The cost is no joke s i really want to carefully consider the pros and cons. Appreciate your help!

Hi sis freshpicks...
- yes you will get refund if hindi ka ma-accept sa program.  but they wont refund the cost of the blood tests na you have to do.
- the amount of weight gain na mangyari after you reach your goal depends on you.  Shempre kung kain ka lang ng kain, yes, you will gain weight.  But if you follow the management guidelines, you should be ok.  pero shempre, valid concern ang weight gain kung mabuntis kasi shempre magdadalang tao ka.  when I got pregnant 2 years ago (di ko pa nababalitaan ang cohen nun), I gained over 60 lbs!   meron lang talaga na taba-in kapag mabuntis (like me!).

at sis rainy666...
they have sa center digital scale pero i think expensive.  check mo kaya sa mga multiply.com shops or sa sulit.com

yey, thanks magnolia. so glad to know there's a refund! im worried baka masayang pera ko. hehe.

anyway, about pregnancy.. i read from the first thread na baka hindi na maging applicable if you follow the same diet plan after giving birth. dun ako worried kasi :(

by the way, would you know din if ever mabuntis while on cohen, if the program is stopped, pwede pa ba mag-resume after giving birth?

pwede ka mag-resume after giving birth kaso pag magpapa breast feed ka, hindi ka pwede mag diet, so dapat maglaan ka muna sa baby mo ng mga 6 months muna then mag restart ka ng diet. =) eepekto parin yung program mo kasi yung pagkain mismo ang purpose ay to burn fat.

- If you dont complete the program in 6 months, you have to pay for extension (3k for 3 months), and you can extend two times (so upto 12 months total).
- If you dont reach your goal weight, you will not get the re-feed program (ie. hindi mo ma-complete yung cohen plan).
- If you get pregnant/sick/go for surgery/even personal reasons during your program, hindi pwede "pause" muna.  The clock is ticking and you have to reach your goal within the specified time frame (ie. 6 months/55k, +/- extension).
- If you get pregnant during the program kasi, you have to stop the diet for baby's proper growth and development. The problem is, by the time you finish pregnancy -- "expired" na yung program duration mo, even if you requested for extension.  If you dont finish the program, you will not get the refeed plan (just maintenance guidelines).
- Some women try their original diet prescription after they give birth. Plus, if you never got the re-feed part of the plan, hindi mo rin ma-complete the second time around. So if you want to, you'll have to pay for a new program (which often times will be different kasi nga nagbago na yung hormones mo).
- So if you plan on getting pregnant, dont start cohens muna.  If you are doing cohens to get pregnant, tapos nabuntis ka during the program -- congratulations! And being on the program can make women more fertile, kasi talagang na-regulate mga hormones kasi.

Friday na bukas! Yay!

(makibaka! wag matakot!) haha sayang kasi yung pera =(

hello everyone, my first time to post in this thread :)

i enrolled in the program last november and right now, i'm 0.5 kg away from the lower end of my goal weight. i plan to start my refeed this weekend na..i'm excited but at the same time scared.

@sis chelly: i, too, have a thyroid problem since time immemorial. i'm a hypo that's why i started piling on weight eventhough i ate very little and i regularly exercise..kaya when i didn't see any results, i turned to food for comfort. hay! and i've been taking eltroxin for more than a decade now to regulate my hormones.

aside from thyroid issues, i've had bouts with alopecia. i first had  it last 2008 then it recurred two years after. imagine, i had 4 to 5 bald patches as big as 1 peso coin. que horror! my derma prescribed minoxidil and some serum..and in time, my hair grew back again but not quite as thick as it was before.  so you can see how worried i was before starting this program. but i really wanted to lose weight more than anything. i did some research..some experienced hairfall..some did not. i also went to see my derma to have my scalp checked. she did the hair pull test and said my hair's ok but just for precaution i got me some minoxidil in case my alopecia resurfaces again. i'm also taking biotin supplement aside from the multivatimins & fish oil prescribed in the program. and yes, i do experience hairfall especially in the shower but wala pa namang bald spots (thank goodness!). actually, i try not to worry about it too much cause stress is one major cause of my hairfall.

from uk size 16, i'm down to uk size 6 now. 60 lbs in 6 months. life is good!

for those doing the program, keep up the good work. and try to get at least 7 hours of sleep. this made me lose weight even faster ;)

Sis Jelly,
Anyway, I figured it was from how I was drinking the water. Iinom kasi ako ng mga 500-750 ml in one go --- tapos ihi kaagad (and you lose alot of electrolytes this way).  Better to space out drinking --- a glass at a time lang.   Also, dagdagan mo ng sea salt yung niluluto mo for extra sodium.   Lastly, I always stretch my muscles before bedtime.

Hello everyone!  It's nice to know na madami palang nainspire dito sa thread na to, dito din ako nakpagdcide na mag cohen eh, i got rid of 36lbs in 5.5months, ang bagal compared sa iba kasi I have hypothyroid so everything was happening in slow motion.  Pero natapos ko din naman yung program.  Just to keep you guys updated, I'm on maintenance since end of january, everything's ok naman, until recently puro kami kain sa labas ng hubby ko, halos 1month din yun, then nag weigh ako today, gosh! 6lbs na ang na gain ko. Hayz, I'm going back on my original plan today till ma-loose ko ulit 6lbs.  Well good luck to you guys, maintenance is not easy, you have to be on your toes pa din lalo na pagkain sa labas ang bisyo naming mag asawa.  Kung may questions kayo sa maintenance stage I'll try my best to answer it... Karamihan kasi napansin ko takot sa maintenance stage eh(just like me before)... baka lang makatulong ako...

^ thanks amberstar! I will ask you in a few months!

Ako, I am ending my third month.. lost 30+ pounds already. Madami na naka notice pero I still have that fat/obese syndrome na i cannot be enough. I am working on accpeting the change and being happy kahit slow ang progress ko.

I am going home to Manila next month. Yun ang pinaka worry ko kasi I am in the comfort zone again. Dito kasi, mas controlled ko ang environment--I don't live with family. Another thing is, I am enroled in the Cohen online program--kaya yung food variety, fish, veggies and all ay parang wala masyado sa Pinas. I am worried baka mabuhay ako sa tinned tuna for my stay there. Naku, mag bi-binge ako!

Go sisses! Happy for everyone! :)

Wife2be --- kayang kaya mo yan. And, madali lang veggies and fish.  You can do it!

freshpicks, I think with Cohen they dont allow milk which is impossible if pregnant ka. With SureSlim they allow milk. There are a lot of food under Cohen that you can eat in SureSlim. Although same sila sa blood testing and in some ways... I think iba yung approach... and the consultant answers all your questions talaga because she underwent SureSlim first and saw the results. Like some people na hindi naging ok sa Cohen, maybe you can try SureSlim.
[/quote]

There are individuals who enrol in the Cohen Diet to get pregnant. BUT if you are already pregrant you have to STOP THE DIET and have the option to get a new program after you give birth.  Bagong bayad and blood tests yun.

camillet are you trying to promote SureSlim? I suggest you open a new thread pang Cohen Diet to.  And meron pa ba nun? Cohen clone to kaso wala silang refeed and may mga food sila na not allowed in the CD eating plan like seeds and nuts and other veggies kaya di namamaintain ang weight loss dito.
