How far is pangasinan from ilocos Norte? I don't think kakayanin ng kids ko ang 10hrs travel, kahit pa we take several stop overs. We're planning to stay in pangasinan overnight then continue the travel from there. Baguio sana since i have a tito who has a vacation house there (no need to pay for hotel). But we find the city too congested already then parang walang bagong pupuntahan. Though my son hasn't been there, I don't think he'd appreciate nor remember it at 1 yo.

^by 10hrs, I was referring to the travel time from MNL to laoag. Sa tagal, maainip kids ko. So we're thinking of staying overnight at pangasinan. Then continue our travel from there. I was asking if how many hrs from there to laoag.

Yung mga kids ko naman, hindi naiinip sa travel. Although they are traveling naman since less than a year old sila around the Philippines and even abroad na long haul flights. They are 6 and 7 years olds now. Nung una ko silang itravel by land sa Vigan/Laoag,  4 and 5 years old sila. Nagtravel  ulit kami papuntang Vigan last week by land (private transport), carry lang naman.
I always keep them busy by giving them ipad,iphone, coloring books, etc.
Last Christmas season, papunta namang Isabela na mas boring ang dadaanan kesa Vigan(10 to 12 hours).

^with my 4yo, I won't have a problem. Madaling aliwin. Give her the iPad she'll be quiet. Mangungulot ng onti pero madaling pakiusapan. But I have a 1yr old kasi who gets fidgety if he doesn't get to move around (by move around i mean move from one row to another). And my husband doesn't like the idea na that the kids dont stay strapped on their car seats lalo na if highway driving. Oc lang ang asawa ko sa ganyan lalo na with the driving habits of provincial bus drivers. We can mae frequent stops pero baka super late na kami makarating ng pagudpod (our first planned destination). Last month, we went to subic, my son was generally good. Pumayag naman na naka-car seat nang matagal. He only started throwing tantrums when we entered subic.

So for our sanity's sake, it's better if we make a halfway stop. We narrowed it down nga to pangasinan and Baguio. I just need an idea how far are these two from laoag so we can decide

^Sis, wag Baguio, out of the way ka na nun. Pangasinan is better sis, talagang dadaanan papuntang Vigan. Pero si Baguio, ibang daan na sis.
If i'm not mistaken 4 to 5 hours sis. Ang dami kasing ginagawang kalsada ngayon. At sobrang init sa daan kahit malakas ang aircon.

Mas sulit pala to stay in Pagudpod longer than Laoag and Vigan, para sa beaches.
Ginawa namin, Pagudpod - 1 day tricycle tour North and South. Following day, Laoag - 1/2 day lang for the museums and picture taking. Then proceeded to Vigan just stroll on the 2nd half day. Tapos early morning, Kalesa tour naman.
Mababait lahat ng driver/tourguide in all these places. Take note, magaling sila sa pag create ng composition ng pics, at marunong humawak ng SLR 
Dati kinakabahan ako sa layo ng byahe, but after seeing the places, sobrang worthit.

but we're still going to vigan. kahit kaming dalawa na lang ni boyfie. mga sis ask ko lang if okay na yung 2k as pocket money.. for food and some transpo within the city. *we plan on a 3day 2night trip* ok na ba yun or we should add more? gusto ko lang malaman kung how much yung dapat naming idagdag especially ngayon, kaming dalawa na lang gagastos and wala na kaming kashare.

approximately 8 hours ang bus to vigan via florida bus. ito ang ginawa namin dati ng friends ko, 3 kami. nag bus kami to vigan then paakyat sa pagudpud.

ironlady, may beach naman sa may vigan pero di ganun kaganda katulad sa pagudpud. malayo ang vigan sa thunderbird poro point. la union lang kasi ang thunderbird.

kung gusto nyong magbeach sa pagudpud na lang kayo then umaga ng sunday punta na kayong vigan. tour ng konti at bili ng pasalubong then uwi na. di na kayo makakapunta ng laoag kasi konti lang time nyo.

may resort kaming pinagstayan sa may currimao, part na ito ng ilocos norte at di ko na rin matandaan kung ok ba ang beach doon. gabi lang kasi kami nagstay dun at umalis din agad ng umaga.

Tama si Sis Shegothim, if the beaches are what you're after, go to Pagudpod na lang. Saud Beach and Blue Lagoon would be nice .

Friday night alis from Manila to Pagudpod, dating Saturday am sa Pagudpod, diretso beach na. You can stay overnight sa Pagudpod, then leave Sunday morning for Vigan. Sa Vigan you can stay for half day, enough na yun to complete a kalesa tour. Then sakay ng bus in the afternoon back to Manila

Pangasinan to Vigan is around 4 hrs. travel time, depending on where you're going to stay in Pangasinan.  tapos add 2 hours travel time Vigan to Laoag, that would be around 6 to 7 hrs.  Pwede rin kayo mag-Baguio, eniwei pagbaba naman ninyo it's La Union na e, Vigan to La Union is 3 hrs. na lang.

   8 hrs. po by bus pag daytrip, around 7 hrs. pag night trip kayo.  I suggest riding Partas, Viron transit or aniceto trans.  They have stations inside Vigan.

2) gusto ko naman may beach sana.. malayo ba yung thunderbird o ilocos resorts sa vigan? ilang oras ang byahe at ano ang sasakyan? para makapgsurf sana.. o kaya daytour man lang sa thunderbird?

Thunderbird is located in Poro Point La Union which is around 3 hours away from Vigan.  Out of Bus route sya, meaning malayo sa main highway.  Pero if you want to go there, sabihin nyo na lang sa bus ibaba kayo sa papunta ng thunderbird (San Fernando La Union)  then I guess tricycle na alng kayo papasok. 

Kung surfing ang gusto nyo, why not sa San Juan La Union na lang kayo, at least dun famous for surfing talaga and there are resorts along the highway lang, so nasa bus route sya.

Kung Vigan naman kayo, may resort na although hindi white sand, eh ok naman blue waters and mababaw lang kahit medyo malayo ka na sa tubig It's called Cabugao Beach Resort, located in the town of Cabugao Ilocos Sur, 45 mins. away from Vigan. It's just along the hway kaya nasa bus route ka. May website ata sila, just check it.  ANd I suggest e magdala na lang kayo ng food kasi minsan yung canteen nila dun konti lang pagkain, although may drinks.  Pwede swimming lang dun, may fee yata then may mga beach huts din sila.
Pero nandito na rin kayo sa North, why not proceed to Pagudpud?

Kung Vigan lang, kahit kalesa tour lang kayo, ride the calesa and they'll know where to take you..pero i suggest e magresearch din kayo para di sayang sa oras As in kahit half day lang pwede na malibot ang Vigan so pwedeng pwede kayo mag-tour hangang pagudpud. 150 per hour ang kalesa rate.

Vigan: trike fare per person is 10 pesos (within Vigan lang)
          kalesa fare: 150/ hr.
          food, well madami namang fastfood dito so, depende siguro sa inyo yun.
          fare to Laoag if you want to go there is from 121 to 140 per person
          empanada special is 30 or 35, sori i forgot.
          bibingka - 130 whole, may half din
          tshirt - around 150 ++
          bagnet - starts at 380 pesos per kilo (correct me if i'm wrong
          longganisa - starts at 100 per dozen
          chichacorn - 45 na yata ito

Cherdigan, we find Baguio now too congested. Atchaka parang nothing new to see. So Pangasinan na lang since we haven't explored (well at least my husband) that area. We wanted to stay at Thunderbird but gosh the cheapest we found for an overnight stay will be Php 13k (thats for 4 adults, my husband and i plus 2 yayas).
