Laoag, Vigan and Pagudpud Thread 10

we wanna go to vigan and laoag this august or october ..road trip lang kami from manila.. anyone here who did the same thing? ilang oras ang byahe? saan maganda mag-pit stop?

Hi sis, i don't know kung may sumagot na sa question mo pero laging by land ang travel namin papuntang Vigan. We will be having another roadtrip papuntang Vigan para ipasyal yung balikbayan na tita ng hubby ko this April. This is my nth time to visit Vigan (6th or 7th???).
Anyway, usually mga 7 to 8 hours by land,depende sa traffic at sa bilis ng driver namin.

Madami namang gas stations along the way kaya hindi hassle ang stop-over. Usually yung stop over namin ay depende kung may gustong may mag cr break or kung merong gutom sa entourage.

To gain mileage agad, usually sa may bandang Pangasinan na ang stop over namin.

I'm browsing this thread, para makahanap ng hindi pa napupuntahan sa Ilocosor kung ano bago.

ang alam ko lang is maliliit yung standard rooms nila and ang maganda lang talaga na room is yung kalesa room pero about sa ghosts, wala pa ko naririnig.

^he!he!Nabasa ko dito sis at saka dun sa ibang mga reviews sa Grandpa's Inn sa Tripadvisor yata yun.

On the other hand,lagi din naman kami natatapat sa mga old Hotels sa Vigan. We have stayed before sa Villa Angela at Cordillera Inn at super oldies din talaga at may nararamdaman din kami. And pinaka-malala nun yung stay namin sa Fort Ilocandia sa Laoag.  Medyo mas malakas ang paramdam powers ng mga ghosts or malakas lang ba talaga ang imagination namin???he!he!

 So carry na rin siguro si Grandpa's Inn. Masarap kasi food eh. Yun yung hinabol ko.ha!ha!

In fairnesss sa Grandpa's Inn, 4 stars yung reviews nya at saka may wifi.

mga sis,ask ko naman yung contact number ni ate cathy sa pagudpod. yon kasi ang unang destination namin. or kung may kakilala kayo na tested at ok,it would be a very big help. salamat po

as per the places, entrance fees are no more than P50 (pretty much all are donations)

i was able to buy tickets to Laoag from CebuPac for P88 as base fare last week.. yippee, tuloy na tuloy kami to Vigan and Laoag.. ang tagal din since the last time na na-visit ko ang places na to.. will backread muna para makagawa din ng itinerary.. July pa naman ang alis namin.. ^^

we just came back from a road trip to Ilocos Sur and Norte! Ilocos is amazing!! ang ganda nya!!!

i will not recommend our choice of accommodation in Pagudpud though, i totally feel ripped off!

We just came from Laoag!  We went there riding the Farinas Trans Bus last April 5, 10 p.m. and left for Manila last night (April 9, 10 p.m.).  First day: We went to Laoag Market (most stores are closed and we just checked out how much ang per kilo ng Bagnet..Php400/Kilo), Museo Ilocos Norte (but it was closed that Good Friday)...we waited for a while and ate at Johnny Moon Cafe (English translation of Juan Luna ).  We went back to Java Hotel to rest and around 2 p.m. we went to Fort Ilocandia (we rode the tricycle going there..Php100-120/tricycle...we were four in each tricycle).  We swam for a while in FI's beach and had buffet dinner (Php450/person).  Grabe no transpo going back to our hotel...buti nalang may contact yung isang guard ng FI and umarkila kami ng jeep for Php450 going to Java Hotel (around 20-30 minutes drive..we were 6 adults and 2 children...may nakisakay pa sa aming isang Korean kasi he has been waiting for a transpo just outside FI for a long time and wala din shang transpo..we dropped him off across his hotel na madadaanan lang naman talaga)

we we're booked at Terra Rika.. we chose the suite room para sana makapagrelax from long travel.. pero waleyy!

imagine, sira ang stopper ng bath tub... so walang bath tub, binigyan kami ng timba!
never kami nakaconnect sa wifi.. tabing tabi ng reception ang room namin ha.

may ipis sa loob ng CR.. nung gumising ako ng madaling araw to use the CR, ayun bumulaga ang ipis.
walang signal ang cable.. cartoon network lang ang channel na makikita.

food from the resto is a big disappointment, as in! sa mango shake nalang kami nagpakabusog.
yung order ng anak ko na inihaw na liempo.. puro taba!

tapos may isang group na nagpareserve dun, 1 bus sila, more than 40 people.
nagpa-"exclusive" ata for breakfast. may choice sila ng food to serve for them ng breakfast.
nung dumating kaming mga other guests, sinabihan kami na 8am pa ang breakfast namin, mauuna daw kasi kumain yung mga 40+ na guest. 
so umangal kami... bakit ganun, pare-parehas kaming guest dito... I even asked them ano ang breakfast naming mga guest, sabi danggit and egg daw.
i saw the breakfast for the group, danggit, egg, corned beef, mixed vegetable, fruits and fried fish.
nagalit na rin yung ibang guest, bakit hindi ready ang breakfast for others, bakit mauuna ang iba.
ayun, pumayag din yung staff na kumuha na kami ng food dun sa sineserve sa 40+ na guest.

ito pa, ang kape is nescafe 3-in-1...hihingi ka pa sa counter nila! kalagitnaan, naubusan pa sila, at bumili sa store sa labas! 

hayy ewan.... talagang feeling namin we were robbed of that 7500 per night na rate.
we've been to bora, palawan, tagaytay, subic etc... kaya we can't help but compare.. ang milya ng difference.
customer service palang, walang wala na sila. wala man lang ngingiti at mag-go-good morning syo.
walang manager na pwedeng humarap, puro staff lang.

sabi pa nila, ayaw daw gumana credit card nila, nung nagagalit na isa customer kasi wala dalang cash.. ayun gumana naman na!

any fedback on the Kapuluan Vista Resort? My husband and I are travelling with 2 kids plus 2 yayas so the deluxe with Loft is perfect for us (1 king bed plus 1 queen at the loft area). Price-wise ok na din for Php 4,750. If kukunin kasi namin yung deluxe for 2, we will need to add additional Php 500. Ang ending nasa Php Php 4250 din.

Also if we'll do land travel, how long is the travel time?

^ from Saud Beach/Pagudpud it's just a 20 minute ride... it's very very near the blue lagoon/maira ira cove

^thanks! I read though that Pagudpud is about 3hrs drive from Laoag. Or mali lang basa ko. I skipped the Pagudpod trip before when I went with my parents so hanggang Laoag lang ako. No idea how long is the travel time from Laoag to Pagudpud. Is it wise if we just stay at Pagudpud for a day or two, then book in a different hotel in Laoag? We can stay there overnight and do Vigan as well. Ang hirap kasi since we're traveling with a 4yo (with her never-ending "are we there yet?") and a 1yo (who gets quite cranky in his car seat pag long travel).
