^ I try to always have the following at home, or at least, most of them:

cinnamon, cinnamon bark, nutmeg, chili flakes, cayenne, garlic powder, all spice, paprika, clove, vanilla extract, fresh basil, dried basil, oregano, mint leaves, rosemary, parsley, thyme

romaine lettuce, spring onions, spinach, parsley, bell peppers, mushrooms, lemons, garlic, onions, ginger, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, banana, apples, oranges, avocado, berries

eggs, bacon, chicken breast/shrimps/beef cubes/steak/fish fillet

homemade almond butter, almond milk, coconut oil, EVOO, pepper, himalayan sea salt, honey, stevia, cacao nibs

(If you plan to bake paleo desserts, you might need to have almond flour/coconut flour, coconut milk, and coconut cream readily available.)

Yung spices you can store sa kitchen lang and they won't go bad agad. The veggies and meats, I buy on Sundays. Iniisip ko kung anong meats ba gusto ko kainin that coming week tapos I get just enough for a few days, so important na nakaplan na mga kakainin ko. Ayoko kasi na iniistore sila ng matagal. Yung mga leafy veggies, ewan ko ba, bilis malanta or matuyo sakin. I'll buy extra ingredients na lang if may recipe ako na gusto try out. Simple lang naman kasi mga kinakain ko. Vegetable omelette and bacon in the morning. Spiced baked chicken/shrimps or steak + simple salad for lunch or dinner. Or mga grilled na lang. Ayoko ng complicated.

Where do you get the herbs, spices and ingredients for baking? Are these available in local supermarkets like SM?

^ Not yet. When I have extra funds, I will sign up. Kinda expensive kasi and I have time pa naman to make my own food. :) The menu looks good, though!

hi everyone! i'm new to ths paleo diet, i'm trying to find grass fed beef sa mga supermarkets unfortunately wala ako mahanap. any suggestions?
1 week pa lang ako nagttry, i think it's very easy to stick to this type of eating unless nasa ibang lugar ka (for me i stayed at my bf's house for 3 days and wala ako makain) since palagi rice ang sineserve sa kanila plus some ulam. so i get to eat small pieces of meat since hindi sila mahilig sa veggies. so frustrating :(

^ landmark makati. Sa grocery store, they are selling/carrying beef from "the farm organics". Or echostore in BGC. Or the store at wilson, greenhills/makati (forgot the name). Try following Mariel Padilla's organicaholicmariel(?) madami syang sponsor dun about organic things :)

I like the simplicity of this diet. I am doing it too but of course hindi ko kaya na walang rice.

After giving birth, I tried this and so far mas mabilis akong naglose ng weight this time.

I was happy to see the effect of this diet after 2 weeks lang. I lost 1.8 kilos in two weeks, and that's without exercise. I wanted to make sure kasi na it is effective kaya nagfocus muna ako sa diet. Rice and bread were the hardest to avoid but this diet is doable.
Here's what I did:
- meal prep every Sunday. Cooked bfast, lunch, snacks and dinner food. I love to cook so i dont really feel na super effort siya.
- i eat my carbs in the morning only - sweet potato that's as large as my fist. Since I sometimes exercise in the evening, I prepare sweet potato and apple cinnamon pancakes for snacks. Hehe.
- i read paleo related books like Nom Nom Paleo and Practical Paleo. I found tasty recipes there. Nakakadisappoint minsan.
- according to Practical Paleo, if you can't find grass fed meat, use any available meat but trim the fat. I prefer to use a little bit of salt, bagoong (it's paleo!) or patis.
- i bake paleo approved pastries for my kiddo only. Honey and dark chocolates are still sweets so as much as possible, i avoid them muna. But I still love my tablea choco drink (unsweetened) with coco milk. Yum.
- i avoid dairy. I use almond milk or coco milk. Nakakamiss ang yakult but i get my probiotics from kimchi. I get my calcium from spinach and sardines.
- can't give up rice? Try cauliflower rice. Nakakabusog but you wont feel bloated or sleepy afterwards.
- mahal ang coconut oil dito sa amin (i'm currently not in Pinas) so i use clarified butter or ghee. It's dairy but paleo approved. You can make your own ghee, search nyo na lang ang recipe.

Have you heard of Whole 30? It's a stricter Paleo based diet (no sugar or honey at all), but more effective for weight loss. Check instagram for the whole30 hashtag. Nakaka amaze.  I'm thinking of trying it.

It's not a diet but a lifestyle so good luck sa new lifestyle natin. :)

^^ i personally consider coffee as paleo :D i take it black with no sugar.

yung cauli rice tedious gawin kung wala kang food processor. so i don't make it. pati minsan mahal yung cauliflower so i prefer to buy other veggies nalang.

Mga sis anyone knows where to buy tapioca flour or arrowroot powder?
Sayang andami sanang pued magawa with this ingredient i.e dinner roll, crepe, empanada etc but i couldn't find anything here in Davao not even in healthy option.

Cauliflower is so addicting but i agree medyo tedious cia gawin so better if you make plenty of it and store nlng sa fridge. Just like what im doing with my camote brownies and cupcakes.
