Hi! The SMC reset wont work i already took my pro to powermac moa and after many attempts ang conclusion nila e kelangan na i-reformat. Now my big problem is yun pictures, I know, I should have backed it up but unortunately I havent yet. My pro is one year old so never had a back up, I know my fault.

Now, for my question, would you know of someone who is expert in recovering files from a mac. They said I can bring it in powermac gbelt since they can back up there but I dont know if they will exert that much effort in recovering my files. Help please.

^try calling greenbelt. if moa said that gbelt will back it up, most prolly they will. if kelangan mo talaga ng technician, try going to computer repair shops sa malls. or your nearest trusted computer shop. my cousin told me na there's always a technician in every comp shop eh. good luck sis pag naayos na lahat, i-consider mo na bumili ng airport time capsule.

Hi its easy to backup all your stuff, documents, photos and videos. only have to do is you need 1 mackbook or imac and it has firewire cable if you need help pm me

^^burberi, 3-5 days daw sa gbelt powermac so havent heard from them yet, took it there tuesday. Sana nga ma-back-up nila. And yes, i will definitely buy time capsule na, for now, I really hoping they'll be able to save the pictures. Ok lang ang docs kasi usually, I have a copy of those docs in my office laptop.

Sana saken na lang it will take 4hrs to install all the apps. and retrieve the original account and settings and all documents photos and videos nasa dating lalagyan so you dont have to copy and paste sa dating nyang kinalalagyan. hehe.....

is there such a big difference with the entry level of macbook pro and air 2013? The old macbook pro (not the retina) has a promo kasi until the 30th na nasa 51k something lang. hubby kasi is insisting on getting me one, i don't need it naman pero sige lang i just use it for docs, storing pictures, web browsing

if you're just using it for docs, storing photos and web browsing, baka better for you ang old mbp kasi it has a higher storage capacity compared to the new mba. i think si mbp ay nasas around 500gb ang storage while si air kasi up to 256gb lang. pero ako i still opt to go for air kasi i need the mobility. the weight is a big issue for me lalo na most of my meetings talaga e need ko yun

^ we're choosing between the old macbook pro 500gb and the 2013 air 256gb and almost same price lang. still torn really, kasi the macbook pro is more powerful and has more space compared to the air but the air is so lightweight.

though i have an iphone naman and i can use it to search the web and stuff.

^ actually, comparable na naman ang lakas ni air kay mbp just because of the SSD. i have developer friends who use the air na rin. i see photogs na rin using air, kasi strong na siya to handle photoshop easily. i think keri din ng sa mga videogs, problem lang talaga would be storage.

would you be needing the mobility din ba? ^_^

^wala pa ako nababalitaan na 24mos right now lalo na for the newer models. pero ang usual na alam ko na store na madalas magbigay ng 24mos would be switch.

best prices for mac ay beyond the box and istudio ata nakabili na ako from power mac, digital hub and istudio. pinakamahal si power mac. si digital hub naman before may magandang offerings kasi if you are a philmug member, ngayon ata wala na. i ended up going to istudio as per recommendation ng friend ko

curios sis, bakit pala hindi keri ang size ng 11"? i used to have 13" now i'm trying the 11" kasi

hushlygreen, mobility is a factor since i travel a lot din but i have an iphone and i like that it's small and handy. pero after thinking about it, i might get na the 11inch 256gig nanghihinayang lang ako na the pro has more ports and has a CD slot na.

little_princess, nakakaakit talaga ang mobility ng 11" kaya i ended up getting one hehe so far so good, except lang talaga sa cd slot. as for the card reader, i just bought one sa cdrking for 30php ^_^

Earlier this year I bought the new iMac. Matagal ko na plan bumili nun so I gave my old MBPro to my brother. Ang problem ko lang sa new iMac, walang CDROM so bumili pa ko sa Powermac din.
