Hello mga sis! I'm feeling much better na kaya I can go online na haha! I had 4 types of vaccines kasi and I'm feeling so lousy the past 2 days. So for those who are going to do their medical at SLEC Soon, I just want to share my experience last Nov 12. Most of it were already covered above,
-I finished the whole procedure in one day because they find everything in me to be normal and okay.
- I was in SLEC by 4:30ish am; they started letting us in by 5:30
- first step is verification ng usem packet by the guards (passport, passport photocopies, appointment letter, photocopies of appointment letter, online registration if you booked online which is advisable, and the required ID pics)
- I registered online so no need for me to fill up the pds. They just called our number at the online applicants' counter and just took our fingerprint and photo
- they told us to go up to 5th floor to pay the fee
- then the lady guard or attendant near the cashier's window took our receipts, asked us to sit and wait in the waiting area (also in 5th floor) and we waited to be called for the taking of our vital signs (bp and pulse rate).
- after taking my vital signs, the nurse or attendant gave me back my receipt and asked me to go to the room on the right for eye test and weight and height determination (this is also where they give us printed barcode sticker which will be asked before they extract our blood, urine, etc so wait for it)
- I gave my receipt to the lady nurse/attendant, there's 2 of them. One took my height and weight and the other one asked me to read the snelen chart (she's a bit b!#chy but just be cool. I was irked so I think I messed up on the letter L). Then we proceeded to the 4th floor for extraction.
- we gave our receipts to the guy at the counter with the microphone, took our seats and waited to be called. When called, we were told to go to the right corner most room for blood extraction.
- after blood extraction, we are to submit our receipt again to the leftmost room in front of the ladies' toilet where a nurse has set up a table with plastic jars for urine collection. (konting urine Lang naman nire-require nila so don't worry if you can't pee a lot
)
- then we proceeded to go to the 3rd floor for chest x-ray. Girls are told to put their hair up and disrobe the top completely. The technician here is very nice. She even asked me to repeat my X-ray when I failed to take a very deep breath.
- then we proceeded to the USA counter in 5th floor, gave our receipts to the guy on the right reception table with the microphone. He asked us to sit and wait to be called for the physical exam.
-we were assigned a room number and a lady doctor (since I'm a girl). Disrobe completely. While changing into a lab gown, she fires questions about my health history. Be honest, because she will know if you're lying. She also repeats the question but asks them in a different manner para siguro hulihin ako. She checked me for any tattoos, piercings, my mouth for any sores or cracks, she asked how I got the scars, she confirmed if the scars in my tummy were due to chicken pox, she asked if the cut on my leg was self inflicted, she asked if the mark behind my thigh is a scar or a birthmark. She examined my vaccine marks sa left and right arm ko, good thing meron ako. Any history of hospitalization, you must tell her because they can tell sa blood if ever a treatment or vaccine was administered.
- at this point she kept my receipt and just told me that I'm okay and to go back to the 5th floor for immunization interview.
- when I was called, the doctor asked me where my immunization record is, told her its all gone together with my 2009 X-ray film due to typhoon milenyo. She nodded and typed something in the computer. Then asked me to show my vaccine marks again, and asked me what is the last vaccine that was given to me. I told her I had anti-hpv. She asked if I have my ob's med cert for it and I said yes. As I was about to take it out, she stopped me and said its okay, no need. Then she asked me again to show my chicken pox scars. Then she told me she will have to give me shots for mumps, measles, rubella and varicella. She gave me back my receipt and told me to submit it to the 3rd floor checkout counter.
-this is where I have to wait long. Then the guy at the counter called me and told me to wait at the immunization room back on the 2nd floor but he said it won't be until 1:30pm. It was only quarter to twelve but I stayed and I refused to have lunch. Nagsisi tuloy ako kasi super gutom inabot ko.
- then at 1:30 indeed I was called to proceed to the immunization room and interviewed once more: first day of menstruation, what happened to my immunization records, my last vaccine received, my scars, etc. you have to be honest the first time otherwise made delay talaga if na sense nila na you're lying and may discrepancy sa answers mo. Then she gave me the vaccines and took my receipt. She handed me a slip of paper detailing the post vaccination precautions and told me to wait at the ground floor for the results, and since everything's in order for me, I don't have to go back tomorrow.
-another long wait, an hour and a half before I was called on counter A. The guy asked for my passport and made me sign 2 sheets of waiver. Then asked me to wait again. I was called again on counter F and she released me my stamped passport, my Cd of X-ray and my vaccination sheet. Be sure to check that your birthdate and name are spelled correctly on both the sheet and CD. she asked when my interview is, and she said they will forward my med results to the usem and they will receive this on this date.
And that's it! I treated myself to large fries and large sundae after the whole ordeal. Some additional note, bring water with you and some small candy to maintain your sugar level especially if you're tend to be hypoglycemic pag gutom. Like what bro cardilene said, their speaker system is a bit lousy and hard to make out so listen very well for your name.
