Feeling unpretty - advice?

^^ Nakaka-relate naman ako sa kanya, siguro mga 10 years ago? Ngayon, I just stop convincing myself that I'm pretty. Kasi kahit anong gawin mo, you are what you are born with and dadating ka sa point na hanggang dun na lang talaga ang igaganda mo. And that is PERFECTLY fine.

Tapos nung triny ko i-convince ang sarili ko na I'm pretty, mas counterproductive sya e. Kasi alam ko na meron naman talagang stereotypically pretty and di talaga kami magka-level.

Acceptance lang talaga ang key to success

Naging ok na ok lang ako nung natanggap ko na "this is me" and I'm ok with me. Kasi kahit anong gawin mo, di ka naman talaga magiging kagaya ng mga artista or ng kahit sino. Kasi you are you, kelangan nya marealize na she is MORE THAN WHAT SHE LOOKS LIKE.

Ngayon, kapag nakakakita ako ng drop dead gorgeous girl na tipong napapatulala ako sa ganda. Wala akong nararamdamang bitterness. Kasi I accepted myself na e, if I can't be the "pretty girl" I can be someone else. I can be the "funny girl" or the "smart girl" or the "nice girl" just don't be the "insecure girl"

Minsan nakakaramdam din ako na di ako pretty. Dati nga sobrang depressed ko dahil sa looks ko. Pero ngayon tanggap ko na din na ganito hitsura ko. Kahit ano naman talaga gawin ko, madami talagang girls na mas maganda sa akin.

Nainggit lang ako sa mga not so pretty girls na kayang isigaw sa mundo na maganda sila kahit hindi naman. Sana ganun din ako ka-confident.

i used to be insecure, i was addicted to makeup just to make myself feel and look good pero minsan no effect pa din, i know ano mali sakin my nose and my height maliit kasi ako plus i'm chubby pa, tinanggap ko na well this is my height kaya magiging proud ako,may mga heels naman jan eh, pinaka insecurity ko is my nose almost pango kasi ako or pango talaga hehe, until i decided to go under the knife and have a rhinoplasty, no regrets and more confident na ko ngayon, hindi na ko hirap magsalamin

sobrang insecure ako dati kasi i have pretty friends and classmates saka maputi sila so i feel sorry for what i have. pero nung nagkaroon ako ng bf for 3 years na uplift self-esteem ko because he always tells me na maganda daw ako kahit di ako maputi. dahil dun feeling maganda na ako hehe

Sis, the best way is to change your outlook if you feel insecure you can do something about it naman eh there are lots of derma nowadays you can seek treatment and try wearing makeup for a change you can visit beauty counters and have a makeover. Makeup hides flaws just make sure that you buy a beauty product that looks good on you...

Hay, me too i feel so ugly. May bf naman ako who tells me im pretty pero iba parin kasi kapag ikaw ang nakakafeel. I started to feel this way nung pumayat ako ng sobra. I think 2 years na akong parang anorexic ang katawan (though im not), i dont like taking photos of myself anymore na noon e pastime ko pag bored ako. I dont like meeting vollege friends kasi alam ko na sasabihin nila sakin. Buti na lang gifted kami sa boobs, so kahit payat ako, meron parin kaso ang laki din ng nabawas. Feeling ko mukha na akong corpse bride. Ang hirap hirap pa naman magpataba kasi di ako mahilig kumain. Huhuhuhu

I often have unpretty days. There's nothing much I can do but to ignore the feeling and survive the day. I try to focus on other things na lang.

^ Same here. What I do is focus on my good qualities nalang (and how I can use them to become a better person) because that gives me some confidence.

You also have to consider the environment that person is in.  Sometimes some people are surrounded by people who make them feel ugly.  May mga tao kasi na puro pintas, lahat ng flaws mo pinapansin and pinag-uusapan.  Some people are so critical and mean that it seems they can't find anything good to say about other people.  Being around that kind of environment is toxic, and it does more damage to an already fragile self-esteem.  It magnifies yung bad feelings mo about yourself, so it's best to keep away from that kind of energy.

Lahat naman tayo may flaws e, nobody's perfect.  Even supermodels have hang-ups about themselves.  There will really be times when our self-esteem will wobble, when we won't be sure about our place in the universe.  But we have to try to move on from that feeling of inadequacy, pick ourselves up and make the best of this life.  There will be things that you can improve on, and there will be things na you just have to accept.  If kaya tanggalin yung scar, then maybe that option is worth exploring.  If hindi, then gawin na lang ang best na tanggapin yun.

I'd like to believe that there are still people out there who don't just stop at a person's outward appearance, but really see who a person is beneath the skin.  And there is more than kind of beautiful

very very seldom that i feel this way. kasi kapag tumitingin ako sa salamin ang nakikita ko yung bigay sa akin ni Lord na wala akong kulang sa katawan, malakas ako saka wala akong sakit.

It is really hard for one to feel pretty especially when they themselves don't feel pretty.

Thanks for your advice. I hope my friend can follow all these tips because she's been feeling like this for a really long time... especially when she sees pretty girls she feels even worse.

IMHO lang naman po.. naalala ko tuloy sinabi sakin ng boss ko.. kapag pinanganak ka raw na hindi maganda, hindi mo kasalanan yun. pero kapag namatay ka at hindi ka pa rin maganda, kasalanan mo na raw yun. just for joke hehe

basta matutunan lang ni sis ang positive thinking everything right will follow. agree?

minsan nakakaramdam talaga nito, ako ginagawa ko pag feeling down at "ugly", maliligo muna, kasi after ng paliligo feeling ko ang gaan na so konti mawawala un down feeling...

pag may pasok ako sa office, magsusuot ako ng favorite kong sapatos at blouse, or minsan dress, tapos favorite kong lipstick, maauplift na un feeling ko nun

pag medyo may konting ugliness feeling pa din, kain ng paboritong meryenda...

pag nasa bahay naman ako, i-footspa ko sarili ko tapos magpedicure ako, ayun solve na!

If I'm feeling upretty, nagmmakeup ako. Addict kasi ako sa makeup.. Whenever, I'm angry, happy, sad nagmmakeup lang ako, that way nalift yung mood ko.


But there are times talaga na napapangitan ako sa sarili ko, minsan ang ginagawa ko nlang.. nagmmakeup. lol! hahha joke lang.. uhmm nag pray lang ako na sana mawala yung ganitong feeling.. tapos nagfocus lang ako sa ibang bagay ganun lang.. Kasi, di mo naman pwedeng dalhin yung pagiging feeling unpretty mo kasi masisira lang araw mo chacka magiging bad vibes ka sa lahat.. kaya ang the best jan, hayaan na lang at wag isipin. hehe

meron ako inferiority complex before, very low ang self esteem ko. my defense mechanism is not to put much effort sa pagpapa ganda, i become boyish & i laugh at myself before ang iba....inuunahan ko na sila kung baga. heheh! 

but now, i could say i improved a lot... though boyish pa din. contented na ako kung anong meron ako... and ang beauty naman nasa tumitingin and mas deeper naman ang definition hindi lang sa physical... as long as maganda ako sa paningin ng nanay ko at asawa ko i'm perfectly fine! I still laugh at myself & i always put in my mind that "imperfection is beaty"
