^sis, your email correspondence with the landlord confirming your reservations will serve as your proof of accommodation.

Re agoda and the like, if you're sure na of the hotel then no problem booking with them. But if you plan to look pa I suggest book direct with the hotel's website. Downside lang nun is meron silang non-refundable booking fee usually nasa EUR5.00 lang naman. At least you don't pre-pay for the whole stay unless you are availing of their advanced purchase which is cheaper.

Just got our Schengen visa today. Sila na ata ang pinaka-matipid when it comes to validity.

Pero just the same, very thankful that we were given visas. Buti na lang mura lang yung visa nila (free pa yung daughter ko kase 5yo pa lang).

^ I applied at the French embassy. I scheduled our appointment via email and mabilis naman sila magreply. Application is for myself and my 2 kids.

Kung family kayo, requirements and application form should still be per person. Meaning pati kids dapat may tig-isang copy ng hotel reservation, insurance, itinerary, letter of application to the French embassy.

First step when you get there is to pay at the cashier and present the ff: passport, itinerary, hotel reservation, airline ticket (window 2). Payment is Php3430 for adults, 6-11 Php2000, 5 and below FREE. This can change depende sa exchange rate for the day. Pero during my interview and 10 days after when I claimed my visa, same pa rin naman yung rate. They only accept exact payments, no coins.

Tapos you'll wait for your turn to be interviewed (window 3 or 4). When you submit the requirements, it has to be in the exact order written in the application procedure, which you can download from their website. Once submitted, these will not be returned to you, so for important docs, give them photocopies (like DTI reg, bus permits, time deposit certificates, etc). Some of the docs I submitted were returned to me (bus permits, DTI, NSO birth cert, NSO marriage cert). Be ready lang din with the original, in case they ask.

Questions asked were: why is hubby not travelling with us, where does he work, what's my work, is it the kids' first time abroad.

After, picture taking and biometrics na. The picture they'll be taking here is the one they'll use in the visa, not the picture you submitted with the application. Then we were given a receipt indicating the date and time when we'll return for the results. I have my interview last Feb 13 and our pick-up date in on Feb 22. Your passport will be returned to you, you just have to bring it with the receipt on the pick-up date.

During the pick-up date, you'll have to submit your passport and receipt (window 1). They'll ask din which window yung nag-interview sayo. Then you wait. After matapos iprocess yung for pick up that day, they'll start calling you one by one, same window where you had your interview.

Hi! My friend and I applied for a shengen visa this week.We're kinda having problems with our travel dates, we need to leave a day earlier than what we applied for.Just in case we are granted visas, does the embassy give the exact date of departure that you stated in the application. If for example our date of departure for Paris is on 31st of Paris, is it ok to leave on the 30th and arrive in Paris on the 31st(since some flights arrive in Paris a day after)?thanks

^Yes they follow what you have stated in your application form. As long as you arrive in Paris within your visa's validity there shouldn't be any problem.

just write that you want to apply for a schengen visa. tapos lagay mo lang yung itinerary niyo, like the dates and the country (no need to be so detailed kase magpapa-pass ka naman ng separate detailed itinerary). Lagay mo din purpose of travel -- vacation, sightsseeing, tourism -- up to you ano gusto mo gamitin na word

Ok lang kaya yun, or is cutting it too close? I'm planning to tweak our IT a little para they can apply at other embassies na mas mabilis turn around time. Ano kaya ok na embassy pa?

The Italian Embassy replies pretty quickly, and they were able to squeeze us in naman.  Just send them an email requesting for personal appearance and preferred date of interview.

I called Italian Embassy, no appearance na sila kasi super dami daw applicants.

Just want to clarify the requirements, baka kasi may makalimutan ako:
1. Passport- original and photocopy of 1st and last page
2. Application form with 2x2 picture
3. Certificate of employment
4. Approved Leave of Absence
5. Bank Certificate (dollar/peso), passbook, statement of account.
6. ITR
7. Round Trip Ticket
8. Itinerary and hotel bookings
9. Travel Insurance- minimum coverage EUR30,000.00
10. Photocopy of other Visas. - *kailangan ba to?
11. Visa Fee- Manager's check
12. Cover Page- Required ba to sa Italian Embassy?

May nakalimutan ba ako?

if you're flying from one country to another (e.g. Italy to France) and you specified that in your itinerary, they might ask you for the flight booking.  Also, if you only present form 2316 (in place of ITR), they might ask you to present payslips too (at least 6 months).

We got our Schengen visa last Saturday.  My family and I are so excited.  Europe, thizz izzzi it!!!

We will be going this May.  We applied our visa in the Italian Embassy since we'll be staying in Italy the longest although France is our entry point.  Actually, we had our requirements picked up by the courier on Feb. 22, and then our passports with our visa were delivered to us on March 10.  I was jumping for joy when I saw our visa stamped on our passports.  Suddenly, I was bugged when I saw my mother's passport.  She had her maiden name instead of her married name on the visa.  I called the embassy twice and I was advised the same thing that it's standard especially for the Italian Embassy.  I was assured that my mother will not encounter any problems when we get there.  I also explained to the customer service rep in the embassy that our entry point is France, then we'll be going to Spain too, and then our longest stay is in Italy.  Still the customer rep said that my mother's maiden name is already forwarded to the immigration.  I researched online and I found out that Italian women do not change their maiden name when they get married.  And I also just read here that one of our sisters also experienced the same thing.  We're all relieved to find that out.

^Sis bitt3rswit, if you have other visas stamped on your old and current passports, you have to photocopy them.  They may help in approving your visa.  I'm not sure though what you mean by cover page, sis.  I'm assuming you mean a checklist of your requirements in the envelope.  You have to have two copies and put them in the envelope too.  I also included my payslip just in case.

@rockonsaint, sis yung checklist paano mo ginawa? And dapat 2 copies? so far ba tama yung requirements na sinulat ko? Yung cover page kasi requirement sa French Embassy. So I thought kailangan rin siya sa Italian Embassy.

Pag US citizen hindi na kailangan ng visa right?

^I guess if you're a US citizen, there's no need for you to apply for a Schengen visa.  But I suggest you still check the embassy's website.

Regarding the checklist, you just have to enumerate what are the requirements in your envelope.  Also specify if it's a photocopy and/or original.  For example:
1. Original Application Form
2. Original and Photocopy of COE
3. Original passport
4. Photocopy of Chinese Visa

According to the customer service rep of the embassy, you have to produce two copies of the checklist.  There's no need for you to write a cover letter/page.  All other requirements you mentioned are correct.

There are actually a lot of booking sites that do not require pre-payment.  Check out booking.com or venere.com
Or if you email the hotel directly or visit their website, most of them require your credit card only as a guarantee. They will not charge it unless you cancelled a few days before your arrival.
Another plus of getting in touch with the hotel is that they usually offer a lower rate than to hotel booking sites.  Since you deal with them directly and skip the middleman.
