I don't think so sis. I have a friend who has a valid US visa and yet she was denied of a schengen visa just recently. Depende pa rin siguro talaga sa requirements that you will present to them.

mga sis, thankful ako kasi i found this thread. Please help me and bare with me kasi first time ko at wala ako alam sa mga ganito na process.

Meron po akong boyfriend sa Italy, we have been for 2 years na po, he visited here in Philippines last 2009. And then now, gusto nya ako pumunta sa Italy but he did not know what is the process of me getting there. And of course wala pa po kasi ako passport, so right now, inuna ko muna ang kumuha ng passport.

Pero mga sis, ano po ba ang maganda kong gawin or baka po may alam kayo if ano yung process para maka punta ako doon sa Italy.

I am stilkl astudent pa, wala ako ni isang bank account at pera na maipa kita sa embassy. pero may stable job naman sa Italy ang bf ko at kaya nya akong sustentuhan sa lahat ng gastos para lang maka punta ako doon.

@m_lim: Nope. Complete docs do not guarantee a visa. The good(?) thing is that the refusal comes with a standard form. Just backread a couple of entries, I think I posted the link of the standard form of refusal.

Visa granted by the Finland Embassy!!! Yoohoo!!! Will be there 3rd week of January 2012!

I don't think so sis. I have a friend who has a valid US visa and yet she was denied of a schengen visa just recently. Depende pa rin siguro talaga sa requirements that you will present to them.

-it can be valid pero used ba yung visa niya ? kelangan mo kasi ma establish na nagtravel ka din.  plus factor din kasi if you have this.
pero dapat complete pa din requirements mo . this is one thing i like about schengen embassies, they really review your documents. sometimes they even call the hotels to check if you really have a booking, or verify with the bank kung real nga yung bank certificate you submitted

Looks like visa application with the French embassy is getting to be more efficient. I emailed them yesterday at 9AM requesting for an appointment in February and after an hour I received an appointment confirmation for the 21st Feb. I just hope they give me another 3 year visa

I got my visa from the italian embassy last friday.  Am just wondering why the visa shows my maiden name and not my married name when all the docs i submitted referred to my married name.  The oN ly part where my maiden name was mentioned in the application was in the form where it asks for my surname at birth.  Is this really the procedure of the embassy?

sabi ng isang travel agency dapat daw show money namin at least 500thou per person. is that true? so pag joint account daw dapat 1M.

^^Sis sa Italy kasi hindi nag change ng surname ang babae kahit married na- maiden name pa din ginagamit, that's why.  Standard yan.

Not sure if they strictly follow this, but it is a start. It is not Php 500thou - the travel agency might consider it as as their own guideline - but it is not an absolute rule.

Hmm, not sure if these minimum required amounts are absolute. Sharing from personal experience - My first Schengen Visa application I submitted bank cert from my very active savings account showing more than that but I was denied. I also have a valid US visa. I think they were suspicious that I was travelling alone. The second time I applied, I only submitted a bank cert from my payroll account which was not so substantial but I got my visa from the French Embassy.

I hope someone can help me with these few questions I have.My friend and I are planning to do a DIY trip to Amsterdam(1D)-Paris(4D)-Barcelona(3D), hopefully on the 3rd week of March.Should we apply at the French embassy? Can we already make an appointment for interview even before filling up the forms? Where can we get travel insurance?thank you very much!

^You could apply at the Dutch embassy since your point of entry is Netherlands pero ok din naman sa French Embassy depende pa rin sayo. The Dutch embassy is located at Equitable PCI Tower in Makati and yes you can already ask for an appointment schedule before filling up the form but syempre you need to download the form online and bring it on your interview date. They have a 1-800 number you can call to set an interview appointment with them. Regarding travel insurance, I got mine before from Blue Cross located in Makati Avenue.

Hi, yup, I believe so because of what juana_antonia has mentioned.  They had my mother use her maiden name too when we applied for our visa at the Italian Embassy.

The rule on where to get your Schengen visa when visiting multiple Schengen countries is:

1.) Apply at the embassy of the country where you will be staying the longest

2.) Apply at the embassy of the country of your first port of entry if equal days of stay per country

In your case, rule number one applies since you will be visiting France the longest. Apply at the French embassy. You can send them an email requesting for an appointment. Check my earlier post #28

One of the requirements for visa application is hotel booking.
Do i have to show bookings for the whole length of my trip (3 weeks)?
I'm just wondering how this is done and what happens if the visa gets denied?
