^ ok yan sis, golden birthday pero pang debut ang celebration. so kahit hindi 18yrs old pwedeng magcelebrate ng debut, so TS wag ka na madepressed, it's not too late kung gusto mo talaga magdebut.  :)

sis,can you describe your "pain" as you mentioned dito? don't get me wrong hah pero I can't get it kung saan mo nahuhugot ang pain na iyan? Is it nag expect ka ng too much? I think the best way to move on is to trace where the pain is coming from

maybe sis, you can work it out, kung inggit iyong main reason, kasi mahirap na ibalik iyan eh wala pa namang traveling machine ngayon, i suggest na sa next na birthday celebration mo, share it with the less fortunate, sa mga ampunan or childrens hospital, and hopefully in that way, ma realize mo na mas marami kang blessings compared to them and eventually, healing will come out naturally to you  ;D

You're right, I keep going back to it even though I know I can't.  Thanks for your understanding. I hope I can realize too my blessings.

:P) But then, I have a tita and lola na kung kelan tumanda eh saka sila nagpapaparty ng extravagant. Debut at 80 years old, and at 40. :D It's never too late! :)

Ako din, hindi nag-debut ng bongga. Simpleng handaan lang, i cant even remember the cake at kung nasan ang pics.
Tama ang iba nating mga sis, mark another birthday as your milestone birthday and thank God for all your blessings.
As you can see from the posts here, madami ang hindi nag-debut. All that hoopla will serve no purpose naman except as selfish ones. (I think!he!he!)
Or make your wedding a very special one, not extravagant but special.

Si Mommy Dionisia nga, nagcelebrate ng debut nung 60 years old na sya. Its never too late.

My lola had her debut when she turned 70 :) My point is,  it's never too late to have a debut and it doesn't matter what age you have it (you can have it this year if you want). basically you just need the funds for it, the friends /family who will attend, and plan a really "bongga" party - not in terms of cash naman, but like what your guests would wear etc. Make sure that everyone is game to do dances / give candles, etc. the people you are with during your debut and how you celebrate it is what matters most. I didn't have a debut party also but i was fortunate enough to have traveled with my family on my 18th year (not exactly my birthday but like i said, it's the people you are with and how you did it that matters most). Have fun! :)

Haha.

I didn't have a debut either, my birthday kasi is on September eh usually finals ug nung college. Di ko rin na plan ng maayos. My parents werent much of help, medyo passive kasi sila, theyre not the type to throw a party talaga. What I had was a gadgets lang and simple pakain at my house I think, if I remember correctly.

But it's true it's never too late to celebrate. I'm turning 22 this year. And all I really wanted for my debut is a very kikay sleepover party sa isang hotel, pero fully decorated hahaha. If I get enough funds this year, why not? If not, next year. Deadline ko 25 years old. hahaha

to TS im just curious kung saan nanggagaling ang "depression" mo, i mean its almost a decade ago... marami n naman sigurong magandang nangyari s buhay mo.

ako pinagsisisihan ko din n hindi ako nakapag debut.. but not like yung reason mo....

like most of our sisters here hindi din ako nakapag proper debut party. i have a party yes, pero hindi yung tipong formal affair and everything na glam talagang party. my dad want to throw one for me, as in all out, since ako ang panganay.. but i declined, im not into that kind of event, ni ayaw kong magpahanda kasi gusto ko itreat lang friends ko, pero pinagalitan ako ng tita ko kaligayahan daw ng parents especially ng ama ang makitang nagdebut ang anak niya kahit lang man daw handa s bahay ayaw ko, so birthday party n lang sa bahay ang nangyari... nakakatawa nga dahil dapat simpleng party lang siya pero nagorder si madir ng cake n may stairs and bigla may roses and candles na... ayun kahit parang yagit ang mga friends ko keri lang picture taking pa rin. i remember my party because of things that happened AFTER MY 18th birthday. my yougest sister died a year after and dahil sa sobrang pagluluksa namin kahit yung 2nd sister ko, hindi n rin nakapagdebut coz its only a few months apart...

looking back nagsisisi ako dahil wala sa mga girls ng parents ko ang nagkaron ng debut at dahil lang yun s katigasan ng ulo ko. after 10yrs naiisip ko pa rin sya ngayon but hindi naman ako naddepressed dahil dun. so i suggest just accept things and kung natalagang hindi k makapag move on s debut mo, then throw one for yourself anyway its never too late diba

joining the "no debut" gals.

My parents let me choose between party or laptop..I chose the latter. I just celebrated it with my best girlfriends over a snack that's why it's so memorable. What gets me depressed every time I remember it is the fact that my parents didn't buy me a laptop. So when I had my first salary, I bought one. Besides, looking forward to being a bride was more to me. There are things which are not meant to happen, you've gotta be thankful that you have still the chance to celebrate more special life occasions.look forward to your wedding day or you may just throw a party on your succeeding birthdays.cheers sis!

Hi ldrwifey,

I'm soo sorry to hear that your sister passed away a year after your party. Don't be so hard on yourself that nagsisisi ka. Hope you're okay.

I didn't have a debut. Yeah, it is so sad.
