^^ oo. Maybe kung 150 up yung guests kailangan ng OTD talaga. I guess kailangan ko lang pag aralan and intindihin yung mga kailangan gawin 24hrs before the wedding and sa day ng wedding mismo...

I think I will need 6 people from preps to reception... kaya ba yun sis?

^ 4-6 people po...

during preps - 2 people (to assist your preps and photog, to check on the items you need to bring to the ceremony and the venue) and check on your entou

during ceremony - 2 people (they can be the same people from preps, but better kung hindi) kasi they need to be there maybe before the preps are over to check on the ceremony set up - flowers, candles, chairs, kneelers, entou members who will go straight to the church/ ceremony venue. task po is to assemble the entou members for the procession, and to assist them with seating arrangements.. saka to tell them when it's their turn to participate in the wedding rites...

reception, 2 people (can be the same people from preps - registration/ ushering) when registration is done, assist lang sila sa emcee saka sa dining.. lalo na pag sa pagtawag sa mga table numbers.. :)

Hello ladies! I'm a newbie here, and this is my first post. This thread caught my eye, well, because I'm an OTD coordinator. Actually, I really think brides and grooms should be hands-on in the wedding preparations, you guys should do the planning and be making the decisions yourselves. Just why I focus on just being and OTD coordinator----to organize things on the day of the wedding so that you can ease up. I know that brides will not completely relax on the wedding day. They would always ask me "'Kat yung ano...."  "Kat yung ganito...." and my reply is always "It's done." Then they'll smile and go back to having fun.

As from mistiqshannen's list, there are a number of things to do during the wedding day. While it is true that you can distribute them to family and friends, making sure that such family and friends will be able to execute the task will still be up to the bride when she is so busy getting married. I believe one central person to oversee all things reduces the risk of being forgotten. If you have a sister or cousin who can take on the role of that one central overseer, then great! However, puttting the burden of overseeing all tasks on one person will make that person unable to enjoy your wedding as a guest.

With the rising cost of weddings, hiring and OTD seems dispensable for some brides. If I were a bride myself, I would not spend a fortune on an OTD. That's why my asking price is so low----it's the amount I'd be willing to shell out on an OTD if I were a bride.

So ladies, create a timeline for the day of the wedding and include the smallest of details. Indicate time, task, and person in charge. If you find yourself asking "Who will do this? "Who will do that?" then you might want to consider hiring an OTD.

Good luck and best wishes in advance!

kami rin walang coordinator. tight budget. sayang kasi, pwede nang ipangbayad sa chocolate fountain o kaya sa photobooth. though it would be a HUGE help talaga, eh anong gagawin kung hindi kasya sa budget but make the most out of the situation na lang and pray that things will turn out okay. :)

is it really worth it to hire an OTD? am actually thinking twice kasi marami akong narereceive na offer ngayon thru my email and pm's regarding OTD. 5k is the lowest and yung iba kelangan magbook na as early as august, yung iba naman hanggang december pa. ayoko kasi mangyari yung magbabayad ako ng stress sa wedding... baka ang ending ako na rin ang gumalaw at mag asikaso ng lahat!

If only I can assign someone RELIABLE and EFFICIENT who can do the following, I won't spend in hiring an OTD:

Preparation Venue (Hotel)
1.   Check on the arrival of HMUA, P/V, Designer, and other suppliers
2.   Check on the wedding items to be used for the P-V shots
3.   Prepare the gown into the fit form
4.   Crew attendance
5.   Handling of crew meals
6.   Transport the following to the church:
a.   Flowers
b.   Wedding symbols – Rings, Dummy Rings, Arrhae / Unity Coins, Bible, Cross
c.   Misalettes
d.   Creative paraphernalia

Church Venue
1.   Check on the following:
a.   Wedding symbols, sound systems, music flow, candles, floral arrangements, creative ideas, special effects, and other things needed.
2.   Identify entourage members.
3.   Direct entourage members on their positions for the recessional marches. Remind them of their duties. Inform them of their seating arrangements.
4.   Distribute the flowers of the entourage.
5.   Brief the participants concerned in the matrimonial rites.
6.   Monitor order of the ceremony.
7.   Cue lectors, readers, offerors, and musicians.

Reception Venue (before the program)
1.   Check on the following:
a.   Caterer’s setup, food, flowers, sound systems, cake, wine, place cards, escort cards, etc.
b.   All props needed for the program.
2.   Brief the program host and the lights & sounds system altogether and coordinate the flow of the program.
3.   Check on the program script.

Reception Venue (during the program)
1.   Direct guests on their seats and table assignments.
2.   Register gifts.
3.   Organize presentation of the bridal party for processional.
4.   Direct the program.
5.   Monitor the food services.
6.   Distribute giveaways and thank-you cards.
7.   Route the guest book.
8.   Monitor the pictorial and video sequencing.
9.   Check on the compliance of suppliers with the reception arrangements and requirements.
10.   Cue speakers, singers, and other participants of the reception program.
11.   Troubleshooting

Reception Venue (after the program)
1.   Monitor the packing of excess food and cake.
2.   Payment Management - Assist the couple for balance payment to the suppliers. Check all on-the-day payments stated by the client.
3.   Turnover all necessary items used in the reception program.
4.   Turnover gifts.

hi mga sis. just to join this thread, when i got married, i didn't really think i would need a wedding coordinator. so I didn't get any.
so i had lots of friends and relatives whom i believe would help (and most of them volunteered), but during the wedding itself, i was still the one carrying all the burden.
i learned na kanya-kanyang pa-cute-ums ng ang mga friends and relatives (especially if kasama sa entourage). and they're supposed to enjoy because it's my wedding.

since then, i told myself that if ever any of my friends or relatives would get married, i would give my utmost best in helping them out, until i realized na kaya ko naman atang karireen ito.
and because i LOVE any type of event, i did eventually do freelance events gigs for different occasions - weddings, corporate events, birthdays, etc.
until i found the best people to work with, and started up our own events group. we know the predicaments of not having the budget for OTD coordination, but even my sister (who's really kuripot, by the way) got a different coordinator outside our family walls because she wants us to enjoy her special day. even if i am already a coordinator.

so mga sis, the major point here is, even if you have gotten the best suppliers and the best deals in town, you will never match the peace of mind paying a coordinator to help you out in what will turn out to be one of the most important days of your life. happy preps! :)

if we have to ease up on the quality or extravagance of the souvenirs, so be it. if we need to get a lower-priced photography package, then we have to. it won't help if we have awesome souvenirs, but i have to bust a vein worrying about how and when they'll be distributed (grooms won't care or bother about details like that).  it won't matter that we'll have a bigger album or more printed pictures if i'll have to stress in the middle of my hair/make-up session because i'm on the phone giving the photographers directions on how to get to the venue because they got lost.

things will go wrong during a wedding. that's already a given.  we're not about to spend hundreds of thousands of pesos and a few several months of planning just so I will be extra haggard, pressured, and stressed on the day itself.  really, how important is it for a guest to dip her fruit in a chocolate fountain if, just several hours ago, I had to squeeze time out of my schedule (in between shouting at the florist for wilted flowers and ordering pizza for the entourage's lunch) to set that up?

how can I bring myself to really beam and smile as I'm walking down the aisle when I'm worried if the centerpieces in the reception are being properly taken care of?  yeah, we can have dependable friends and family members coordinate for us, but dependable is the key word.

we're getting a coordinator.

Weeee... ako din hands-on bride to be!!! I still have 13 months to prepare for our wedding and I don't plan on getting a coordinator or planner. What I'll do instead is request from 2 friends of mine to act as my coordinator on the wedding day itself. :)

^hi sis laniecruzilion, pwede naman hindi ka magbayad ng coordinator but you need someone dependable from your family or close friends to help you. just make sure they know their roles and responsibilities. kung wala, then that's the time you consider getting one. just my two cents :)
