^^^ And I thought being friendly is a positive trait. And anong ibig sabihin ng too friendly?

Just want to share my experience din sa anak ko.

What are the responses of the parents and the school about the bullying? You don't have to wait for your child to get hurt again; you as a parent can already do something about it. Make sure you have all incidents of bullying documented (including pictures of your child with scratches/bruises). If you think the school is not acting on your issue, you may file a complaint to DepEd.

@DV, inisip ko yan sis ano ba problema kapag friendly? Baka kako masyadong makulit, maingay na.

@Ruche, true.

Perhaps my daughter is getting on her nerves kaya ganun? Nakukulitan sya?

^ Perhaps, the school has a certain standard of friendliness/behavior that it wants to impart to its students.  That's how it is usually in a traditional school, di ba?  You have to conform to what is common and acceptable.  Individuality and uniqueness are not really encouraged.  I am not saying it is not a good policy.  But that's the way it is.  The student has to adjust to the school's standards.  The school is also training the students to be more conventional because in the real world nga naman, mag-stand out ka talaga kung ikaw ang pinaka-friendly (insert your own interpretation of friendly) na tao sa room.

Maganda rin mag-analyze kasi kailangan malaman kung relevant pa ba ang standards na ito in our world right now.  Siguro as parents, we have a bigger responsibility dahil nga sa atin nakasalalay ang pagbabalanse.

^true no?

Or maybe it's just a nice way of saying na madaldal anak mo sis. Don't get me wrong ha. ganyan Din kase kid ko nung grade 3 sha. Lahat na lang daw kinakausap and yun nga friendly daw pero nga kahit kase nagle-lecture na si teacher pag me kumausap sa kanya kinakausap nya din. Kaya nadi-distract si teacher. Even during test, pag me nagtanong kinakausap nya kahit dapat bawal di ba. Siguro ask mo na lang yung teacher to explain in what way na friendly yung kid mo and kung pano nagiging problem yun.  :)

Paano ba binully yung anak mo?

uuuhmm...

There's this one boy at my daughter's school who my daughter said is always picking on her. everyday she tells me that this boy would tell her she is not clever. she is not pretty. she doesn't know how to dance, etc etc. those stuff. so i told my daughter to tell her teacher and the teacher would talk to the boy naman daw pero the next day, ganun pa din. i said na she knows naman that what the boy is saying is not true so don't mind na lang. pero pinupuntahan daw talaga sya when they are playing, eating at kukulitin. so sabi ko, ill write a letter to her teacher para she can take further action if not, ako pupunta sa school. pero i forgot to write so i called home told her to not mind muna the boy and report lang sa teacher kasi di ko nga nagawa sulat.

few days past i forgot follow up with her and she didn't tell me na kinukulit pa din sya ng bata. so one day i asked what happened na to her classmate na yun, she said she told him something and the boy stopped.

Sabi nya, sabi nya daw sa classmate nya, "Shut up, loser and stop telling me those because I don't believe you, loser! my teacher and my mom said, I'm smart and the prettiest." daming loser actually and with actions.

na shock ako. pero after that daw di na talaga sya kinukulit. titignan lang daw sya ng bata and won't say anything to her.

and i asked if theyre friends she said, yes. i just don't like na tinawag nyang ganun ang classmate nya pero kahit papano she resolved her issue herself yun nga lang loser loser. nagagawa nga naman sa kakapanood ng tv. just don't say it again.  :-\ :-[

According to my daughter's yaya, a 4th grader busmate daw was teasing (di naman daw bullying) my 5yo daughter. She told my daughter her stickers were ugly. You know how preschoolers are & how big deal these types of comments are so my daughter was medyo napipikon na. When the 4th grader mentioned it the nth time, my daughter told her "ok, I have ugly stickers but at least I'm pretty & not ugly like you!" Nagtawanan daw the highschoolers & the 4th grader stopped teasing her

One afternoon umuwi yung daughter ko na at that time 3 yrs old lang from school na me pasa sa arms. sabi nag play [textspeak!] daw sila ng classmates sa nursery. ang prob kasi 2 lang silang girls sa afternoon schedule. tapos one time habang nagsha shower ang anak ko, nakita ko me pasa yung flower nya at me konting blood dun sa outer part [textspeak!] naman. sobrang nagfreak out ako at nagalit ako sa teacher. i confronted her sa school. sabi nya di daw nya napigil nag tutulakan daw yung mga boys at ang baby ko bumangga sa corner ng table! so ayun at mrami pang ibang reklamo ang naririnig ko. first tear of teacher daw kasi ni maam. hay naku. i am thinking of transferring na my daughter sa ibang school dito sa bagumbong caloocan... >:(

hi mga sis! it's nice to find this thread, especially now that i'm having some problems with one of my son's classmates in school. share ko lang mga sis..

my son is usually the friendly type in their class. minsan madaldal lalo na kapag happy, but napapagsabihan naman. during the first 2 quarters of the school year, he was fortunate enough to be seated and surrounded (front, back, and side) by classmates who are behaved and well-mannered. unfortunately, they had a seat rotation, and he's now seated in a different table/row with a classmate who is "mayabang", medyo bully, and iba yung "tabas ng dila".

according to my son, kinakalabit and dinadaldal daw sya during class time - ayun tuloy, dalawa silang napapagsabihan ng teacher at nalalagyan ng "sad face" sa notebook. my son tried to avoid him by saying "quiet ka, <boy's name>, teacher will get angry". umabot na din sa point na sinabihan na nya ng "shut up please, i'm listening to teacher.. " yung classmate nya na yun. kapag ganun daw or kapag hindi naman daw nya kinausap, sinasabihan daw sya na "hindi na tayo friends" or "ayaw ko na syo" or "hindi na kita invite sa clubhouse namin".  that same classmate called another kid "butete", and during one of the school activities, i personally heard that kid say to another classmate "ang panget naman ng mommy mo."... my God!! bata pa rude na. hindi naman ako yung mom nung batang sinabihan nya, pero  gusto ko lamasin ng asin at sabon yung bibig nung batang yun!!  >:(  i'm no longer surprised kung kaya nyang i-threaten ang son ko. eh knowing the friendly nature of my son, hindi mahilig sa away ang anak ko. i wrote a letter to their teacher reporting the these and requested that my son be transferred to another row/table, para iiwas na lang yun anak ko. baka kasi ma-bad influence pa yung anak ko. but the teacher has not responded yet. i'm worried na what will be my next steps kapag ni-ignore ng teacher and hindi sya inilipat ng seat. haist...  :-\

Mommy you can check this guideline regarding DepED Child Protection Policy, and see what it can do.

sad, kasi ganyan din ang pakiramdam ko.. I've 2 boys.. my eldest is 8 y/o at si bunso 4 y/o pareho na sila na pinapasukan ng school ngayon ( Catholic Schools) Grade 3 and nursery level.

Sa totoo lang, aminado ako na mahilig sya mag-imagine even during his class at napaka-playful nya  kaya madalas wala syang assignment o di natatapos yung ginagawa.

Then after that, dumating yung 2 teacher nya.. Math and adviser..

Gusto ko sanang ipasok sa progressive school anak kaso sa ngayon out of the budget ako.. Ano ba talagang dapat kong gawin??? Naawa ako sa anak ko..
