^^dont let your baby get used to artificial food. making baby food is very easy. you can either boil, steam and for some fruits mash it. it's a lot healthier than your jarred, bottled and boxed food. cheaper pa! for my kids their first food is lugaw. thats what pedias usually recommend as a starter food: grains and veggies. beef and chicken are secondary food. take note chicken should be given with caution lalo na if you have family history of allergies.

re consistency, start first with a bit runny consistency since the baby is used to that consistency. but naman as runny as the milk; make it tad thicker. then you can gradually make the food thicker. to guide you you can check wholesomebabyfood.com

thanks

^sis whats the first food na binigay mo sa baby mo? Ano ba dapat consistency?
i think it was pureed carrots or apple. i make my own baby food. and i second with funny_ally's post on making your own baby food. it's just simple, easy and very economical too :)

^^ wala akong grinder. ang meron ako is yung baby food maker set ng pigeon. nagamit ko naman yung pang mash niya but other than that, di siya sulit for me. yung munchkin grinder di naman must. ang ginamit ko was a hand blender kasi iyon ang meron na ako.

yung grinder ba balak mo para sa bigas, bago iluto? may nabibiling powdered rice. of kung ikaw mag-grind pwede naman sa regular blender/osterizer.

^ i third the motion on making baby food. ang dali lang.

pag lumalabas noon nagbabaon din kami ng homemade baby food. we put the cup with frozen ice cube/s in a fridge to go then sa restaurant, i ask for a cup of warm water to heat the food.

sobrang helpful ng thread na to. my baby's turning 6 months in 2 weeks kaya talagang nag back read ako. By our next visit sa pedia malamang bigyan na kami ng go signal to start introducing solid food kay baby kaya excited na din ako. I agree na mas maganda ang home made food compared sa mga jarred / boxed food. And since for now eh SAHM naman ako, wala akong valid reason para hindi makapag prepare ng food for my baby  ;D

question lang, if mag start sya with lugaw, pano malalaman na ready na sya for veggies naman or fruits? may time frame ba yun like for first week lang lugaw, next week veggies..etc. sorry ha dun ako medyo nalilito. first time mom din eh  ::)

mommies sa tingin niyo po ok lang yung ginagawa ko everyday lugaw then sinasama ko na don yung carrots and malunggay / lugaw, sweet potato & malunggay  lugaw, sayote & malunggay. then minamashed ko sa pigeon food feeder yung salaan. 9 months na yung baby ko. gustong gusto niya yung cheese cupcake. ayaw niya lugaw with carrots kaya ginagawa ko pinch ako cupcake then lagay ko top ng spoon with lugaw, carrots&malunggay.
9 months na baby ko ok lang tmommies twice a day lang sya kumakain lugaw with veggies? thou snack niya yung marie biscuit.
i tried the munggo ayaw ni baby may minimix kayo sis sa munggo ni baby?

^^green leafy vegetables. If he'll like liver, it's a good source for iron too.

^dont let your baby get used to sweets. Mahihirapan ka I-control yan later on. I shared some recipes a few pages back. Try making that for your kid. Baka natatabangan kasi nga nasanay sa matamis. My baby started eating 3 square meals per day with snacks in between around 9-10mos. Ok Lang naman daw according to his pedia as long his milk intake wont change.

^^ pag umayaw siya, do you try to offer again? kasi with my baby, meron din siyang mga inayawan sa start, like munggo. we offer 2-3 more times and eventually, she eats them naman.

i also discourage you to put a pinch of cheese cupcake on baby's spoon. like hunny_ally said, nasasanay na siguro siya sa matamis. baka the baby thinks all food taste like cheese cupcake.

very helpful for me yung top 100 baby purees na book. my baby loved the recipes there. she turned 1 year old na yesterday but a couple of weeks ago, we started givng her more table food na.

another thing i would like to add regarding introducing solids, its not necessary that you start with am or lugar per se. my baby started with pureed veggies/fruits. nakatikim lang cya ng cereal type if i incorporate about 2-3tbsp of Rafferty's Garden na cereal type before that his ninang gave him. ok naman cya. we're now using earth's best naman. ang ayoko lang sa earth's best is walang seal itself ang box nya unlike rafferty's garden na pwede mo maseal.

when is the ideal month pala to start introducing meat pala like fish or beef?

^hmmm, mukhang idedelay ko chicken if ever. i get an allergic reaction from time to time kasi with chicken and egg  :-\ and i think this also means i need to frequent the nearby wet market for fresh fish hehe. thanks!  :-*

My baby started at 6-7 with beef/pork broth. At 8mos started giving minced beef/pork. Inuna ko chicken at 9mos but my baby had allergic reactions so I never gave him that anymore. 10mos I introduced fish.

Re Earth's best they have Sachets. Mas expensive Lang nga.
