^sino ang nanay ng bata?  ;) it all boils down to that. Mabibigyan Lang naman yan ng food that early if papayag ka di ba? Get your pedia as your ally. Then tell your husband you don't agree in introducing food early cause your pedia said give it at x-month. Tell him the long term repercussions of introducing solids early. Bombard him with the latest research.  IMO, if your husband respects you as his baby's mother, he will allow you to make decisions concerning your baby or at the very least the two of you make a decision together...and not just force something to you just because your mother in law says so.

Again, make an informed decision and not because "ganun daw kasi talaga"

***to add I saw your post in similar HW thread...you said it yourself may digestive issues pala si baby mo. Giving solids early may aggravate that further. Consult your pedia

^i hope there's nothing serious with your baby considering you're seeing a pedia surgeon. anyway, tell your husband too to defend your decision with you mother in law lalo na if she gets insistent.

^are you planning to freeze baby food ba? If yes, helpful ang ice cube with trays para tipid sa space. As for me I'm currently using avent via cups and munchkin silicon container with trays since these are the ones I have here at home. apart from solids kasi i also store BM. What I like about the Avent cups is I can also use them for storing baby's snacks, and also use the same container whenever we're going out :)

For spoons, we're currently using Avent also. Pag lalabas I have richell, avent and combi. We bought yung richel in Manila then yung Avent and combi pareho lang bigay samin tho I find the combi one better since it comes in 2 spoons, one small (for stage 1 weaning) and one larger one (for stage 2 weaning).

^for the avnet cups, you can use small lock and lock containers as a replacement.

^^ i froze my baby's food using covered ice trays. Pag frozen na, we transferred them to ziploc freezer bags. Then everyday, we get 1 cube in the morning, put it in a covered cup in the fridge to thaw. nuby has covered cups, a bit smaller than avent via cups. These are what i used, cheaper. Available at youji and me.

For first spoon, i recommened that you get something with soft tips. Munchkin has nice ones kaso 6 in a pack. I got pigeon, ok din. But i prefer to use richell kasi it comes with a case so good for going out.

Yung mga playtex na set with spoon and fork, i dont think you need those yet, pwede later on na.

And pala, like grayce, i am able to use the avent via cups for baby's snacks (happy baby puffs).

1. She has her own sponge, the same one we use for her feeding bottles and my breast pump. Storage - naka lock & lock container all of her stuff.
2. Microwave is not recommend because it causes heat spots, baka mapaso si baby. What i do is every morning, i get an ice cube of food from the freezer, put it in a sealed cup the put in the fridge para magthaw na. Or you can warm the food by dipping the cup in warm water, same practice as warming expressed breastmilk. Or get a bottle/food warmer.
3. I started to give my baby water when she started eating solids.
4. Finger food like yung happy baby puffs, may guide on the label when it's ideal to give to baby (ie can crawl with tummy not touching surface, can pick up food, etc).

meron ako nakitang mimiflo no bpa baby food warmer.  okay ba ito?

^i don't see anything wrong with using a baby warmer for food. I'm currently using avent for my baby food and milk also.

^^ di ko pa nakita yan. But generally, ok naman to use a bottle/food warmer. But dipping in hot water worked naman for us even with EBM kaya di nako bumili.

for veggie/fruit sticks, what i do is i put it in munchkin feeder for baby not to choke. he can just suck the juice. also helps for he's currently teething :) mothercare also sells a similar one but i think the latter is more expensive.

Mga sis, ano ba ang magandang feeder / nibbler?  may 3 brands kasi to choose from: munchkin, nuby and sassy, among others.  main concern sa mga eto is yung cleaning ng mesh.  the last 2 are better kasi natatanggal daw ang mesh at pweding bumili ng pamalit.  any other feedback sa mga feeders/ nibblers na eto?  pls share.

talaga bang wise to buy eto?

^ i have th munchkin feeder. Di naman mahirap linisin ang net. We dip it in hot water after washing. Wag lang banana ilagay mo, yon mahirap linisin.

I prefer munchkin over nuby kasi mas madaling hawakan. Bilog kasi yung handle so mas kayang hawakan ni baby. Yung sassy ok kasi bilog din ang handle plus may cover. But this wasnt available here yet when i got the munchkin feeder last year.

super agree with hunnt_ally!!! usually if may digestive issues ang baby, the pedia will recommed to wait until 6months before introducing solids. Kami we have allergy kaya the pedia told us not to give solids yet til 6 months, maski mukang ready na si baby at around 4months palang. My MIL was also telling me to give him solids na, but I politely explained to her that the pedia advised us not to. Just try explaining gently but firmly.

i have the nuby feeder naman, pero d namin masulit, wala namang problem sa handle..kaya d nasusulit kasi ayaw ni baby ng fruits, i tried putting there melon, watermelon, and banana..and also, masgusto ni baby yung nagch-chew na sya. Ano pa ba pwede ilagay sa feeder? Gusto ko pa sya magamit, sayang eh.

My baby turned 6 months last week. First thing i gave her was rice cereals na farex..i mixed in her formula milk. Gave that for three days pero everytime as in 2 spoons lang ng baby nasusubo nya then luwa lang. Ni hindi nabawasan ng half yung 1 tsp ng cereal na ginawa ko. Same thing with potato and banana. Bakit kaya ganun.? Ganito din ba babies nyo when they started eating? As in mas madami pa niluluwa nya than nakakain. Tigin ko nga lahat niluluwa lang nya.

my baby naman first tried solid foods at 5months old with Gerber 1st foods - banana, applesauce, squash, carrots ang suggestion ni Pedia, pero as in, testing lang talaga kaya 2-3 baby spoons lang fr 1 Gerber, then 3x/day for 2days lang, then check for any side effects sa kanya (lbm, rasher or allergy).  Kung walang anything abnormal sa kanya for 2days of no solid foods, try ulit ng another Gerber 1st food.   8)

super like nya ang food nya, titig sya sa plate and spoon then gusto sunud-sunod ang subo sa kanya.  nagagalit kapag tapos na.  Gustung-gusto nya.  pero i cannot give more kasi ayaw ko talaga since hindi pa sya 6months old... in few weeks, she'll be 6months old, then i will give her real fruits, vegetables kaya pinag-aaralan ko din ano ba ang pwedi na sa kanya.

as for milk, medyo dyan sya mahina: 6-7bottles lang a day, 4.5 to 5oz per bottle, nauubos naman nya yan kaso may mga tulo nya  :'(.  She's 7kg at her 5th month.  Kaya since mas matakaw sya sa solids, i will take that opportunity to feed her.

^just try to be consistent lang sa pagbibigay ng food sa kanya. for some babies ganyan talaga mga 1-2 subo lang. my baby started eating like that rin at first, now nakaka 4-5oz per feeding cya :)
