^ah ok  :) kasi tinanong ko if gano p din ka-often yung pagpapadede and yun ang sagot ni pedia. siguro bibigay ko na lang in between ng milk time nya. humihingi naman si baby ng gatas kapag gusto nya, parang alam na nya na dedede sya after 3 hrs hehe. matakaw pa naman 'to. thanks sis  ;)

^yan ginagawa ko so far. before cya kumain pinapadede ko tapos after nya magdede that's the time na iwawarm ko na food nya, after eating dede ulit cya. this is for breastfed babies pala na pattern ha. concerned kasi ako na baka magwean ng maaga si baby and this pattern was suggested sa kellymom.com :)

mga mommies,
advice naman.  si baby girl ko at 6months ay nasa almost average weight lang.  gusto ko sana mataba pa, gaya dati when she was 3-4months old.
now i'm giving her lugaw in the AM, then prepared gulay in lunch & dinner.  plus her milk na 6bottles of 5oz... dati, bago sya mag solids nakaka 7bottles a day sya, ngayon hanggang 6 bottles nalang.

gustong gusto nya ang solid foods.  hindi sya nahinto ng kain.  i make sure milk muna bago ang solid food, kasi kapag baliktad, lalong hindi na sya mag milk.

paano ba malaman kung how much solid foods ang dapat ibigay?  hanggat makakaya ba nya?  how much naman sa milk ang pweding mabawas sa kanya, since nag so-solid foods na sya?  i've read here na may isang pedia na nag-advice na ok lang mabawasan ng 1bottle ang baby who's into solid foods at 6months...

sana tumaba na si baby.

^ bakit gusto mo mataba? Is your pedia concerned with baby's weight na almost average lang? Does your pedia give you advice on how much/how frequent to feed baby?

Ako kasi ayaw ko ng matabang baby na pilit pinapataba. But that's just me.

^^and hindi por que mataba ang baby, healthy ang baby. honestly, i don't see any reason for you to be concerned about this. kahit pedia ni baby mo ayaw nga bigyan ng appetite stimulant si baby diba? :)

and pag nagsisimula palang magsolids if I'm not mistaken once a day lang muna hindi 3x/day. my baby's 8mos but 2x/day palang ang solids nya. solid food isn't supposed to replace milk din. and introducing solids on our babies is just a training for them how to eat real food aside from it exercises the baby's tongue and mouth for speech development kaya hindi dapat rin binibigla ng pakakainin mo agad ng madami. just my 2 cents.

^kahit ako rin ayoko specially na may lahi kami na diabetic and medyo on the heavy side.

I'm using avent via cups to store my baby's food. Kaso I noticed na hindi na natanggal yung orange-y na kulay ng pureed carrots even after so many washes. I'm thinking na itapon na pero I thought na mag-ask muna dito. Sabi naman kasi sa box at sa leaflet throw away na if there's a sign of wear and tear. Yun bang pagka-orange-y niya is a sign na of wear and tear?

^no its not. carrots are rich in beta carotene, hence the orange stain in your via cup. ganyan rin yung ibang via cups ko hehe :P

is it normal for an 11month old baby na mahina sa solids?

^i don't think na normal yan. for the first few weeks na iilang subo lang normal lang but 11mos na baby mo she should be eating 3x/day na rin and sooner or later table food na rin dapat cya. per feeding she should be consuming mga at least 4oz of solid food na rin. try to give lang solid food to your baby and be consistent until masanay cya kumain ng madami. my son naman nagdedede before and after feedings nya. try mo kaya ganun?

sissies,

^according to my kids' pedia, tikim = kain. kesyohodang isang subo lang yan, the fact that you placed something in the baby's mouth, he'll ingest it. Hence it is called eating. my mom has that habit of making my kids make patikim the food. kesyo nothing will happen naman since it's only tikim. ayun once she made my son taste a little of chips and my son developed rashes all over. my pedia, who happens to be my mom's tita, reprimanded her becuase of the allergy risks she's putting my kids into.

and re the tita. if tita ko yun, pipigilan ko siya. and so what kung tita ko siya. the baby is MY kid and not hers. i have the final decision. my titas are like yours as well. my cousins, nieces and nephews got to taste their first coke, chocolate etc when they were months old. but with my kids they never attempt to kasi they know that i wont allow that.

hi mga sisses. i just wanted to ask if anyone here has tried pureeing and freezing potatoes? i just started pureeing my sons food so far ive tried kamote and carrots. although when i did potatoes after freezing parang naging dehydrated na, even if you mash it and place water, parang chunky na ang hirap gawin smooth ulit. although before i freezed it perfect yung consistency nya. i didnt have problems naman with carrots and kamote. is there a special way to cook and store potatoes? by the way i steamed them first then puree with a little water. any suggestions for potatoes?

^ how did you thaw the pureed and frozen potatoes? sometimes kasi we thaw in the fridge, we bring down ice cubes in the morning for feeding ng lunch. but i find that there are certain food na better if dipped in warm water para bumalik sa original consistency, like potatoes nga and ground rice. have you tried that?

^gassy ang broccoli, you might want to delay this muna. for broccoli, normally steam or bake ang ginagawa ko before i puree it.

have you tried considering baking them instead? i usually bake potatoes/sweet potatoes, put them in via cups then mash them with fork then let them cool down before putting it in the freezer. then i just add liquid (breast milk) once i thaw them before giving it to baby.
