My daughter ate potatoes + malunggay today. She liked it. Her nanny always adds malunggay to her meals kasi it's really nutritious.

hello mommies! please give me a suggestion with how to prepare broccoli, cauliflower and asparagus for my baby who'll be turning 10mos old. he's in that stage where he doesn't like pureed food anymore. i usually just mash his food. he can also eat rice paired with veggies like squash and malunggay. but i'm at a loss as to how to introduce these cruciferous veggies to make them appetizing for him. thanks mommies! :D

:) i will appreciate your advice.

This is what a hand blender looks like. I find it better to use this kesa the blender-blender with pitcher and all kasi it's less noisy, easier to clean and small amount lang naman yung food. My sister naman uses an avent steamer and food processor. she said ok daw pero namahalan ako eh. :) goid that my mom gave me a hand blender. I'vd had it for a while and found a good use for it only now.

sis,

where did you buy the hand blender and how much. I'm preparing na kasi for my son's first solid food.

Hi mommies! My baby's 7 months old and we're breastfeeding (direct and exclusive). Nagstart kami ng solids at 6months sakto. Lugaw yung first food na recommended ng pedia ko pero he suggested that we consult a nutritionist-dietitian para accurately maevaluate yung nutrition needs ni baby. So yesterday we were able to visit a nutritionist from SLMC-QC. Nagulat ako na yung mga nalaman ko from my readings (from books and internet, incl Dr.Sears, Kellymom, Wholesomebabyfoods.com, etc) e iba sa alam ni nutritionist. Thought I'd share them with you

Yung avocado as first baby food hindi rin sya agree. Avocado is oil and not a fruit daw so hindi pa madigest ng tama ng babies

Veggies ok kahit ano except the leafy ones kasi baka bumara pa daw. Oatmeal, white rice, and Marie crackers din. Yung brown rice wag daw muna kasi too much fiber.

Hope these would help. Sabi nga ng mom ko OA ko na for consulting a nutritionist pero as a first time mom nagconsult na ako kasi wala naman talaga ako idea on which food to give kay baby.

will consult pedia sa checkup on the 18th. baby's weight is within the normal range (for breastfed babies) naman so wala ako masyado worry. plus kinakain nya lahat, nevery naging picky so far.

since SAHM naman ako, will prepare na lang food everyday, yun din sabi ni hubby. will just clarify sa pedia yung amount (tablespoon vs 1 cup) kasi yun talaga nalito ako.

this morning, i increased beechnut rice powder to 4 tablespoons kesa sa 2 tablespoons namin before and naubos naman ni baby. nung lunch, halfcup ng lugaw plus 1/2 tablespoon carrot mixture meron natira na around 1 tablespoon. dito umasim yung mukha ni baby :) snack ng apple ok naman. yung pag breastfeed so far wala naman bago, matakaw pa rin. :)

^ Thanks for sharing, Sis.

Ang ginagawa naman namin with my daughter's food luto sa salad master ng rice + potatoes + carrots + malunngay leaves then pag OK na, we'll use the blender. Noong una, ginaya namin the jarred food's consistency para naman hindi mahirap for her ang transition, tapos now, medyo may rice bits na para naman masanay na sya kahit papano. She loves to eat anything that we feed her, so far.

But sabi ng nanny ng baby ko, parang nabawasan yung appetite nya when I started giving her Gerber Puffs in Apple Cinnamon. Do you think it's because of the cinnamon content lang or wag ko muna sya pakainin ng biscuits?

^ganyan din baby ko before, 3 servings yung isang 4oz earths best jar. pero unti-unti na rin nagiincrease. my baby wakes up at 7 or 8 am so yun breakfast na sya nun (pero magbreastfeed sandali bago umalis sa bed), tapos lunch at around 12, fruit snack at 3pm, dinner at 6 or 7.

kimebies, yes ganyan din ginagawa namin. mixed na din lahat, nakablend na yung veggies sa rice. tapos tama nga raw na gradually nagkakatexture na yung food so that baby will learn how to chew, hindi yung madali lagi iswallow kagaya ng sa jarred food consistency.
