^

1. She has her own sponge, the same one we use for her feeding bottles and my breast pump. Storage - naka lock & lock container all of her stuff.
2. Microwave is not recommend because it causes heat spots, baka mapaso si baby. What i do is every morning, i get an ice cube of food from the freezer, put it in a sealed cup the put in the fridge para magthaw na. Or you can warm the food by dipping the cup in warm water, same practice as warming expressed breastmilk. Or get a bottle/food warmer.
3. I started to give my baby water when she started eating solids.
4. Finger food like yung happy baby puffs, may guide on the label when it's ideal to give to baby (ie can crawl with tummy not touching surface, can pick up food, etc).

What is the brand of your food processor? where did you buy it? thanks!

I bought Cuisinart's Mini-Prep Plus Processor at Gourdo's :)

for veggies, i just cook it along w/ the rice (my son eats once a day pa lang naman)... otherwise, I give Earth's Best na rice cereal... sometimes, I use breastmilk, sometimes Dr. Edwards water with the food... but I really make sure it's baby food consistency (yung tipong yuck kasi close to being soup like?)

i wash all the things with mess Out and then pour hot water on them... and keep them with his bottles

i don't store baby food because we seldom eat leftovers so parang, why would my son do that, hehe... and he's only eaten banana, rice cereals, sayote (no need for extra liquid here kasi it's super watery after being mashed), sweet potato and squash (I feel kasi potato is just really carbs, so rice cereals na lang, easier for digestion pa)

one other thing... my pedia said to really FILL a child (when they're starting solids pa lang) in one feeding than divvy up the amount into two feedings because solids make them feel full faster and longer and that will affect their milk intake... and at this point, milk is still far more superior than solids...

so, that's another  reason din why the weight gain slows down when you introduce solids...

so yes, you start with a teaspoon of solids... twice a week, to introduce solids and texture (my pedia says the best ang rice cereals as its easier to digest but there's nothing wrong w/ introducing veggies first)... and then you start adding to the volume of food per meal rather than giving two meals (regardless of whteher the baby still gets milk after)

of course, that's not to say naman na you force feed them bowlfuls of food ha... hehe... just that they really feel full in a meal... kasi up to one year, babies still feed 6-8 times a day so you make sure lang that the solids meal makes up in the best way possible for the missed milk

by 7 months, they;re expected to eat twice a day na...

around 9 months, you can introduce meats

10 months... table foods

teething biscuits are best given when they actually have teeth na

Has anyone seen a silicone tray with cover?
Am going to make peaches for baby today. Yes, it's coming from a can..
should I steam it before placing it in the food processor?

@domestic diva
I have a Biokips Ice tray with cover, i think this is similar with the silicone tray with cover that you are looking. I used them in making baby food batches. You can find it in SM homeworld.

hope this helps..  :)

@delisyus: Nice info! Although weird lang that my baby parang matakaw. Hehe! In the morning kasi after she'd bathe, breakfast na ng solids. She'd eat more than a teaspoon of sayote, mixed with milk and a teaspoon of banana sa morning. But then after an hour magugutom na siya ulit and would still finish her 6 ozs of milk.

It's a little hard to 'fill' her up pa kasi mabilis mainip sa high chair so she'd rather go down na. Unless there's a banana! So I'm slowly increasing it lang. She just turned 7 mos and she still gained a kilo from last month since she started solids. Sabi nga ng pedia ano daw pinakain ko sa kanya. Di pa rin kasi siya sawa sa milk niya, which I think is good naman diba?

haha... my 6 month old eats half a sayote and half of a banana na in one session :D  that's sometimes after feeding from me or he'd still nurse after :)

ok lang to follow our child's cues...

my baby start solids nung 6th month niya. ang advise ni pedia 1-week routine to see if may allergies or reaction sa solids. so 1-week, potato then the next week carrots, then the next week squash then the next week lugaw. pero hindi nasunod because he has diarrhea. so we introduce first pureed apple instead then potato. my mom loves to prepare it for him, (first apo kasi), so hindi namin ni-fridge. every meal, steam and mashe/puree. 3-times a day na yung meal niya but pedia advise before 5 yung last meal kasi baka daw hindi matunawan.  may snacks pa pala siya na marie and puffs.  :)

At 11 months, my pedia naman wants baby to be eating 5x a day. Late na gumigising si baby so sometimes, brunch na siya. She also eats marie time biscuits sabay with C is for cookie singing namin and sayaw naman siya :D

^Various ways sis: may nabibili na microwaveable steamer; just add water and place in the  microwave or you can place it in the steamer dish of your rice cooker with water in the pot or pwede rin na you add water to a pot and place a steamer rack and cover pot : )

^ sis, if you read my previous posts here, na-mention ko that i prefer to use a hand blender than to mash manually kasi mas smooth ang consistency. Better suited for baby nust starting to eat solids.

^ binigay lang ng mom ko pero available naman yon sa mga SM yata.

yung food pag nag-ice na sa ice cube try. i transfer to a ziploc bag tapos yung ice cube for the day, ilalagay sa cup then sa fridge para mag-thaw.
