I underwent TransV Ultrasound (and it was NOT nice at all) to determine if I have PCOS kasi it takes months before I get my period. I have been on the pill for 5 years on and off. Pag nagpills, nagperiod din. Pag hindi nagpills, wala na din si period. :(

Now, I'm taking Vitex Chaseberry Extract tablets which has been known to help with irregular menstruation and fertility issues. I have only been taking it for a couple of days so I have yet to see the results.

i was diagnosed w/ pcos 4th yr hs. now im 27. 11 yrs w/ pcos. 3 to 4 months usually delay ng menses ko. most pcos patients are on the heavier side and have hirsutism. luckily,im only 43kg. but i have an oily, acne-prone skin, caused by high androgen levels, a symptom in pcos. i've been to 3 obgyne. they prescribed the usual meds. in my 10yrs of having pcos, nasubukan ko na ang maraming gamot. as prescribed, na-try ko na diane, metformin, provera. sa pills, nareregulate naman pero once i stop, delayed na uli ako.

im a registered nurse, i know that synthetic pills have some serious side effects especially to long term users. so i searched for alternatives. i came across this site http://www.ovarian-cysts-pcos.com. they advocate a safer, natural approach to treating pcos, such as saw palmetto, vitex, acupuncture, stress management, along w/ proper exercise and diet, less sugar and refined carbs (since most pcos patients have insulin resistance). another remedy they recommend is natural progesterone cream, because in pcos, progesterone level is low while estrogen and androgens are high, w/c causes disruption in the menstrual cycle. (for more details about progesterone and pcos, check http://www.ovarian-cysts-pcos.com/progesterone.html).

i've done research, sa ibang countries pala like usa, natural progesterone cream is preferred in hormone therapy for post-menopausal and also pcos patients. progesterone is manufactured from diosgenin, found in mexican wild yam and also from soybeans. it is converted to bioidentical progesterone in the lab. why natural progesterone cream and not the oral synthetic progesterone? Accdg to Dr. John Lee, a pioneer in natural hormone therapy, 80% to 90% of the oral dose is lost through the liver. Thus, at least 200 to 400 mg of progesterone is needed orally to achieve a recommended dose of 15 to 24 mg daily. Such high doses create undesirable metabolites and unnecessarily overload the liver. In contrast, natural progesterone cream of about ¼ teaspoon daily applied on the body would provide about 20 mg/day. It allows you to get a dose of progesterone that is close to what your body would be making naturally. Also, side effects from progesterone cream are minimal. (http://www.johnleemd.com/store/faqs_progest_crm.html).

dito sa pinas, traditional method pa rin tayo.. synthetic pills. i've asked my ob if she's familiar w/ progesterone cream. hindi daw. estrogen cream ang alam lang nya. tinanong nya sa akin anung gagawin ko sa progesterone cream, i just said hindi para sa akin, kundi sa mother ko na menopausal.hehe. baka magalit kasi kung malaman nyang im using other meds w/o consulting her. but i still took the risk. i searched for a store which sells them locally. i found only a few.. healthy options, and online seller shopwiser. i tried the cream. it's effective. i've been a user for 8 months. monthly na period ko. magpapa-ultrasound uli ako maybe next month to check if i still have those follicular cysts. i also wanna try acupuncture. i heard it helps pcos women as well as women who are trying to conceive.

napahaba kwento ko  :) pero i hope this post will make other women aware that there are natural alternatives in treating pcos. i wish i could also find a doctor who advocates it.

went to my OB just this morning, to check my unusual discharge. doc asked if normal ba daw mens ko and if i tried ultrasound. i said yes, twice, first nung 2005, i was diagnosed PCOS bilateral, hindi ako nagpa treat kasi single pa ako, wala naman akong pakialam before kung regular o hindi, masaya nga ako before pag di ako datnan ng period kasi walang hassle. until i got married 2007. after 2 years of trying, wala pa din.so we went to a new OB. diagnosis, no more PCOS just hormonal imbalance. So wala parin treatment. irregular mens pa din. until recently i experienced discharges at ultrasound ulit. PCOS again,,, sabi pa ni OB a perfect example of PCOS daw ako, as in 100%. wahahaaa... LOL para bang dapat ko pang ikatuwa... i don't know why, pero mas masakit tanggapin this time. for how many years tanggap na namin ni hubby na di kami makabuo, pero ngayon lang parang nag sink in lahat. i have a friend na kasabay ko ng year nag-asawa, husband nya is 20 years old older. almost 4years din cla TTC, but no medications etc. tapos ngayon, nanganak na cya. naiiyak nga ako minsan kasi may mga posts ng baby pics na cla sa FB. nakaka heartbroken. BTW, Ob told me to use Diane, pero sa mga na read ko dito kahit 4-5years wala parin...at susuka talaga ako everytime i take medcine...
wala na yata akong pag-asa.

I also have PCOS and my gynecologist told me it's a pretty normal case. As for me, it runs in the family. So far, my mom didn't have a hard time getting pregnant. My sister also has PCOS.

Anyway, I'm treating it now, while I still don't have a husband (hehe) in preparation for the future when we plan to start a family. So far, I underwent Provera treatment, too, prior to finding out about my case. After the ultrasound, I took Provera again and supposedly, pills, but my period didn't came as scheduled. So right now, I'm waiting for it before I start with the pills.

Wag kayong matakot, sisters. :) I think as early as you feel that you could possibly have PCOS, it would be best to visit your gynecologist. (I was afraid of doing that before as well.)

After going to the OB and having an ultrasound done, I was diagnosed with PCOS (in one ovary).

My Ate has the same condition, but she was able to get pregnant twice naman with no problems.

For my PCOS, my OB prescribed me to take Yasmin, and also Metformin (Humamet) to take 3x a day. At first, I was supposed to take the Yasmin continuously (no breaks for period), but I had breakthrough bleeding while on it, so cyclical (21 days of pills, 7 days without pills to bleed, then 21 days again of pills, etc.) nalang daw, sabi ni OB. :) Going to see how well that works for me, haha.

Mabuti nalang i am so blessed with a husband na laging no big deal ang lahat ng problema. although minsan naaawa din ako everytime na my family gathering kami lang yung walang ibang dala. So minsan di na rin kami ng aatend, or pag may mga kaibigan na ginagawang joke yung pagiging walang anak namin, sinasakyan nalang at kebs... ::)

hi mga pcos sis, anyone here who's tired of taking syntetic pills and just wants to do it the natural way? i know medyo mahal talaga yung ob fees especially the lab exams. and wouldn't it nice if the transvi na gagawin sa atin is wherein to check na lang our little ones!?  I could recommend some methods, supplements and strict plan to be able to gain our fertility back.

Hi po. Lately super dami kong pimples sa forehead, dahil lagi ako delayed after ko pumunta ng derma diretso ako ob then I was diagnosed with pcos pala.
