hi, my question is about airfare to Manila.  HOw much ba roundtrip for a January travel? Or kahit after Christmas?
Much appreciated.

We booked Singapore Airlines for our Dec 29 flight this year back to Manila and round trip was $1640. Not sure about Malaysian Airlines and PAL.

Just checked PAL fares, Dec 29 to Jan 22
$1,002 with tax - ang mura ng PAL grabe!

Malaysian Airlines, $1,487 naman

I've flown with all 3 airlines before, NEVER again with PAL! IMHO, it's not the best kaya ganyan kamura fares nila.

Singapore Airlines is my favorite. We always fly with them all the time.

Last time we flew out of the country was to go to Europe and we chose Malaysian Airlines for that kasi napakamahal lang ng Singapore Airlines for that so no choice.

Pero ok naman Malaysian Airlines... If I will rank all three of them, Singapore nasa top, then Malaysia... then... wala na

PAL won't even make it to my list. Ganun lang ako kadisappointed sa kanila

Also depends on where you're coming from.  I think fares to Manila from WA are cheaper than if you're coming from the Eastern states because the West coast is closer to Asia.

I have tried at various times of the year to book flights and generally, the differences in price are minimal.  I don't think travel to and from Australia is affected by peak / off-peak season as much as other destinations are.  What makes a big difference is if you 1) buy your tickets at least 2 months before or 2) take advantage of a promo.

Given that, I will agree with sis c-h-a that Singapore Airlines is the BEST. But they are also very expensive.  From Perth, regular fare at any time is around AUD1400.  They do a once-a-year sale at half price but if you have specific dates in mind, then this will not work for you.

Malaysia Airlines and Royal Brunei Airways (I haven't flown on either), regular fare is around AUD900.

Jetstar, which I highly recommend if budget is an issue, regular fare is around AUD700.  Jetstar is no-frills, you pay for everything on board -- food, comfort pack, entertainment unit -- but staff are professional, customer service is better than many other airlines and it gets you there.

Tiger Airways (which I haven't flown as well), is the cheapest but schedules are very odd and with the cost of all add-ins (fee for luggage, food, choosing a seat online, etc.), the total cost comes close to Jetstar already so I'd rather go for Jetstar which has more decent flight times and days.

^^I can't advise you with which bank offers a lower fixed interest rate kasi di ko rin sure ... why don't you try to meet up with mortgage broker? Before we bought our house, naku 1-2 yrs before buying it palang, nakikipagmeet na kami sa broker asking how much we can borrow, best bank for our situation, repayment etc etc.

Thanks Sis, yes we spoke to a mortgage broker last week, meron na rin napiling bank, by next week finalize na [textspeak!] napiling property.  mas mahal talaga ang lot kesa sa house, plus hindi pala concrete unlike satin sa pinas.

hi mga sis, i have a job offer from an australian company, they will sponsor me for a 457 visa, anybody applied for this visa recently? how long was the processing? been reading some forums and its from 7 days - 3months...also i tried backreading, baka may tiga-melbourne dito, can you share a sample cost of living? the location of my work to be is East Bentleigh...

Thanks! I'm back from our 8days OZ trip ang bilis magpalit-palit ng weather. btw hindi na sya P45 yung exchange samin around P48-P50. I did shop in Melbourne, nakakatawa kasi we stayed in Hilton South Wharf and katabi nya yung DFO tapos yung tour namin 1hr lang binigay na time para makapagmall so parang amazing race ang nangyari hehe

You can try googling to have an idea on the cost of living on specific area.

you need to read a lot to study so many options, including forums. you may try focusing on subclass 175 or 176 visa.
