I always tell our hh/yaya that she can eat any food inside our house.

My son's yaya maraming ayaw sa pagkain and weird views on food...like ayaw ng beef, ayaw ng food na ma-herbs (we use alot of herbs in our food cause thats how my husband prefers it), ayaw ng gulay na crispy pa (she'll heat up the veggies further until it gets overcooked), ayaw ng pagkaing ininit sa microwave (which is bihira lang namang mangyari). These are not a big issue for me. Eh ganun siya eh. I wont push our ways to her if ayaw niya basta she eats whatever other food is available.

But this morning I really got pissed off kasi ayaw niya pakainin ng Fried Rice son ko kasi according to her "masama sa ulcer". Eh  :o? First, I dont see the correlation of fried rice with ulcer. Is it because of the minimal fat/oil used to cook it? Then she should stop eating any fried food altogether. She makes it sound like ulcer is a body part. Lol! The fried rice is loaded on veggies which is actually good for the kid!

Really I dont have anything against her food issues. But it pisses me off if she starts pushing her weird views on my son. Lalo na if we try to bring up our kids na adventurous sa pagkain and hindi takot to try something new

I used to talk and set rules upon hiring however, when I worked for 8months abroad, my husband was left alone and had to hire a new house help 3 mos before I came back so he was the one who was briefing her. When I came back, nagulat ako kasi she also drinks our Milo or Swiss miss for breakfast because she doesnt drink coffee. This turns out to be more expensive for us since we have to include her now in our grocery budget. The difficult part is talking her out of it since my husband allowed it while I was away. I haven't figured out yet how to talk to her since Im observing her muna para 1 seating na lang ang usapan.

We train our yayas kasi not to eat food when its not given to them. Or not offered to them. Part of discipline! But the yaya of my kuya is so PAKIALAMERA! She gets our soda even if it is not offered to her or she wasnt asked to get. She even OPENS them. Or they ask. Etong yayang ito, FEELINGERA!

Naku sis, kelangan na mapagsabihan yan kasi baka makahawa sa ibang yaya since you were able to instill the discipline to them already...

Since I've had a couple of days to observe our new helper, napansin ko na kagad na mejo malakas sya kumain. Mga twice the appetite of my yaya na parang ibon kung kumain. Last friday, I bought 2 boxes of Arny Dading's peachy peachy cus I wanted my cousin to taste it. Pag-uwi ko, my brother and his family were there na so I asked them to taste it too.

I have tried to allow a househelp to eat whenever she felt hungry, it didn't turn out well.  She was consuming my daughters' Chocolait, orange juices, fruits, candies, etc.  I was told by my husband never to give them such freedom because they will never know when to stop and the tendency is that they will only abuse the privilege.  Now, I set a merienda time and just call the maid to eat a specific food and how many to consume.  That way, I feel so much in control without feeling madamot.

I don't allow them to open or raid my fridge and pantry.  They have their salaries to buy a 10 peso snack.

Kailangan lang magiwan or may luto na alam at rice, so they can eat anytime.

retiringshopaholic- sis, we told this to my sister in law para siya na lang mag sabi. She told the yaya to keep her hands off refrigerators both at our home and at their home in Paranaque. :)

May snacks naman siya sa pantry kaya she doesnt have any excuses of being hungry.

we allow naman yung mga drinks (softdrinks, juices, etc) ice cream, biscuits..

pero the chocolates and chips pwede naman pero wag lahat kase it's for us since we love watching movies at home.. they can have some pero actually, di sila yung kumukuha basta-basta.. maswerte lang din kame sa kanila... or siguro kase since hubby's a chinese kaya nahihiya sila..

No. Since day 1 isa sa rules namin yan. Hindi naman sa pagdadamot pero syempre i have to stick with our budget. I buy them their own bread, spread, coffee, cookies for merienda pero kung ano kainin namin for lunch and dinner yun din kinakain nya. I believe kasi na kahit they live in the same house dapat alam nila kung saan ang lugar nila and alam nila limitations nila.

Unfortunately, I do not run our household, my mom does. So kahit madami akong nakikitang abuso sa behavior ng maids, my mom holds the final decision.

We have 2 maids. Yung isa matagal na samin almost 10 years na (and unfortunately, as time goes by, lalo syang nagiging makapal ang mukha) at paborito ng nanay ko, and yung isa naman ay bago palang (2-3 months). They can eat whatever they want from our fridge and pantry.

That's the daily routine here.

we don't allow them. ref namin naka-lock. yun food pantry nakalock din. mga fruits sa table, bilang din.

ayaw namin masanay sila sa mamahalin na food. ito ang nangyayari sa amin ngayon. meron time na tamad kami magluto, so puro delivery ng fastfood food (which is masarap talaga). pati sa maid, ganun din. tapos siyempre nagtitipid na kami, so luto na lang sa bahay or canned goods. tapos sabi ng maid namin ayaw nila ng canned goods. sobrang nabwisit kami. sabi ko, kung ayaw nila kumain, bahala sila magutom.

fault din namin, because we used to spoil them too much. ngayon we learned our lesson na.
