hi!  i am really considering this diet.  however, i am hypertensive and there was a time na diabetic ako but i was able to control it.  given my condition, i have a few questions lang po:

1.  will i be accepted kaya sa program considering my illness?
2.  when will i be required to pay the 55k - immediately upon signing up?
3.  what if i am not accepted, will i get my money back?

i am a single mother so the 55k is really important to me but for the sake of my health, i am more than willing to pay.  kaya lang, i am worried na baka after paying and i get rejected, hindi na ako maka refund :-(

hope you can help me po with my questions.  tia! :-)

i read an aritcle re blood type diet by a certain Dr. lam ata yun... noted are the foods that are beneficial per blood type and to lose weight and foods to avoid din like for type B like me, more on leafy vegetables, beef or seafood like fish but not chicken, grapes, cranberry or papaya but not (i forgot), egg, milk and yogurt is ok but not ice cream, then avoid corn, wheat, tomatoes, etc.

i wonder if the cohen diet plan is also based on something like this...

I think Cohen is low-carb/blood type diet hybrid.

This is not based on your blood type.  This is based on your blood test results, so each person is different (even you and your mother or sibling will have different prescriptions) and it is really personalized.

I still don't understand how it's based on blood test. What specific blood tests are done?

^i'm not on cohen but i'd like to take a stab at it. my dad kasi is sick so he gets regular tests and very restrictive diet niya. the other day kausap namin yung nutritionist niya kasi based sa results ng last labs niya kailangan na iadjust yung diet niya.
based on what i read, i think may pagka ganun yung cohen. like kunwari yung blood glucose mo mataas. so yung intake mo ng food with glucose should be regulated para mamanage to healthy levels siya.

tama ba mga sis?

i guess kaya attractive sakin tong cohen dahil parang wake up call sakin yung sa dad ko. dati kasi kami very careful sa intake ng sweets kasi nasa lahi namin diabetes in both sides of the family. pero hindi namin narealize na hindi lang yun yung dapat binabantayan. adami pang aspects. kaya natetempt ako dito kasi it's based on your blood analysis. hindi lang basta low carb or low fat or what. mahal nga lang for me talaga.

Ah so basically ang blood test ng Cohen yung usual blood tests lang. I think it's low carb/low fat.

^Yup. Ang sabi, check liver, etc. Those are the usual blood chem. Nagtataka ako ano ang blood tests ng Cohen which
will determine the kind of food allowed. Like if meat, or fish lang, etc.

Sis, yun lang, mapapraning ka kaka-analyze why and how Cohen works.  Mas madalas no explanation. Pero it really works.

BTW, it's my last day of refeed tomorrow and am off to Maintenance on Monday.  Wish me luck!

Hmn, para kasing simpleng low carb/low calorie/low fat diet ang Cohen eh which of course will
work. Pero interesado talaga ako anong special sa mga blood exams nila. :)

may question din pala ako. bakit hindi advisable na magexercise while on the program?
i'm not an exercise buff (obviously. because i'm still fat. lol) pero i like sweating it off once in a while. lalo na when i'm stressed. i enjoy boxing. pano yun?

Hi, I'm on Day 2 on Cohen's and so far so good. Food is yummy and best of all, I'm not hungry!

@pixiedust, as I understand it, exercise is not advisable on the program because it may trigger hunger... therefore, it'll make you want to eat more. The consultants did say though that if you really want to exercise while on the program, feel free to do so but you may have to scale back on the intensity.

Hope this helps!

^ kasi exercise makes you hungry so since diet ka nga ang konti yung food e malamang mag-deviate ka pag nagutom ka.

E for this diet to work you have to follow the plan 100%.

Good luck! I would be the happiest person if I (ever) reach refeeding. But since I'm just starting, small goals muna... one kg at a time. :)

@dolly:
Talaga? That's good news! At least when the time comes na magstart na tayo sa sarili nating CD plan, di tayo mahihirapan mag prepare. =) OT: I have relatives there in Tugue! ;)

I really want to start soon....but I'm still saving up. >.<

Congratulations and good luck to everyone doing the Cohen Diet. =)

@silver_dust, don't worry about the food list, bilis lang hanapin mga allowable foods, ex. petchay baguio, chinese petchay, ripolyo, lettuce, mushroom, tomato, etc... lahat to mabibili sa palengke.  Sa meat, beef, shrimp, crabs, prawns... fruits naman, mango, apple, pomelo/suha, orange, ponkan...  As in lahat to mabibili sa simpleng market.

@achengtarush, how's your refeed?  ok ba? hindi ka ba nag weight gain?  Balitaan mo kami sa maintenance mo ha...

@antigone, try to contact cohen lifestyle philippines, they'll be willing to give you a blood test listings naman eh, wala na kasi akong copy, naiabot ko sa laboratory when i did my blood test.

@lenieliam, why don't you try to sign up and let them analyze your blood test result, baka maconsider ka din, i have thyroid problem too but I'm happy that i was ok naman daw for the program,  And yes you'll have to pay them in full upon signing up, but they'll return your money if you got rejected (i think after 30days).

@sweeykoi, congratulations! :)

@keanne, good luck to us... It's my 20th day today, never experienced hunger pangs pero ang temptations and cravings kaloka!  Tip lang sa pag buy ng meat, I found out na it's easier to buy ground beef and ground chix breast kesa sa sliced/fillet, hirap isakto sa prescription weight and food pag sliced eh, I usually end up having 1 fillet and few dots of meat just to get the right amount of meat weight. (weird tignan...  ;D)  buy balsalmic vinegar too, it does help make the food tasty and yummy. And kinumpleto ko lahat ng mc cormick spices para maka experiment ka ng different taste sa food mo. ;)

mama squeak!

Just got back from my vacation. The bad part is I gained 5lbs because of a few days deviation. Ngek! But the very good news is I went a dress size smaller pa! I lost some inches particularly on my waist, hips, and thighs. I can't explain it but siguro it's all the walking/hiking I've been doing somehow toned my lower extremities. As of now I was able to lose the 3lbs of the 5lbs I gained.

I'll be going to the clinic next week to get my refeed meal plan.

 :)

Refeed is so nakakalito. Iba ang measurement from the diet.  Anyway, enjoy din kasi habang tumatagal ang daming food!

I'm on Day One of maintenance na.  So far, so good :)
