^ hi again Chili1113 :)  yes the room is airconditioned :) may pillows and blanket pero nagdala na rin ako ng sarili kong pillows and blanket. then you need to bring your toiletries. medyo maliit ang bathroom pero keri na rin :D sabi nga sa reminder ng discovery na this is not a hotel :D

Maganda ang accommodations sa amin. parang nasa bahay ka lang din :) lutong bahay din mga pagkain.

Discovery requires couples to stay talaga in retreat house. Tsaka maaga din nagsa-start ang actvity and late natatapos.

Thanks so much sis!! Maghahanap ako sa antipolo na sched the one is saw is QC kasi. Baka mas ok accommodations in Antipolo hehe

I wonder if its the same format as my marriage encounter before. Theres a topic... then a couple facilitator will share their personal story related to the topic. Then there are guide questions, which you will answer. Afterwhich you will have a private dialogue with partner re what you wrote. Then after the dialogue there will be a priest who will give his talk on the topic but from a spiritual angle naman.

For me kasi the format and the range of topics were so so effective and through. We talked about everything, from Money, to sex, to communication ...all aspects of the relationship. Its was such an eye opener. I remember walking away from that encounter saying to myself na wow my hubby loves me so much pala!! Well... we still split up in the end but we both never regretted taking that encounter.

If thats the format of Discovery I definitely want to take it with H2B because we really need it especially at this point in our relationship.

It was all answered already. But yes, just to re-confirm :) Same pattern ang ME and DW. Kasi same founder, and DW was "made" basically because there was a need for couples who aren't married yet.

I would have to agree that better to choose Antipolo venue :) Mas malamig pa ang surroundings. Pero rooms and conference rooms are all aircon naman. Yung roommate mo, yung partner niya yun din ang roommate ng partner mo. One bathroom per room, so kayong dalawa lang ang magka-share. You may actually opt to be solo in your room, as long as you are willing to pay a little more - and basta may available room - so reserve early, if ever.

I just want to say again - for others - and if you know others pa who are considering; sana couples attend way before the wedding. Yung hindi nila iniisip na may date na, may preps na, may downpayment na and all. Kasi yung iba nanghihinayang na to separate ways or postpone just because of the monetary part. OR hindi naka-focus sa weekend kasi worried sa preps. So, SUPER SAYANG.

Sana also, if you can spend so much on gown, photo, video, car, etc for the wedding and for the day only - please consider to spend as much for a lifetime - which is the MARRIAGE. So, spend for DW kasi iba talaga yung preparation that you get from it vs the church Pre Cana. MAS MAHAL also ang annulment, mas hassle.

Most church, accept DW as their pre cana already, it's a matter of asking and communicating lang with the parish. If parish asks for DW content or letter, DW can give and explain. If they require na yung attendance sa DW is near wedding date, DW can make some arrangements (kasi nga DW is all for the farther, the better) - pwedeng gawan ng paraan.

DW's success will only depend sa participation ng couple / willingness and openness. So equal benefit and gain lang yun. if no effort, sayang lang. After DW, SUCCESS pa din kahit na
1- continue
2- postpone
3 - separate ways

This! I couldn't agree more.

True, mas madali and cheaper to just attend the usual pre-cana, para lang masatisfy yung church requirement. But then again, IMO, much better to spend a bit more and spend a couple of days in something like DW kasi mas madaming learnings, mas madaming realizations, etc. And it really encourages dialogue between the couple, so it promotes better communication din.

Gadgets/phones are not allowed during sessions. Pinapaiwan sa room. Para walang distractions. Mas may focus.

We attended DW sa QC (Fairview). Parang UP dorm lang yung accommodation, haha. 2 in a room. Own cr. Very basic beddings. BYOtoiletries. 1st night me roommate ako. Pero 2nd night, my roommate had to leave kasi nag-spotting sya so they were excused so they can go sa hospital. So sa 2nd night, solo ako sa room. Sa totoo lang nahirapan ako matulog nung mag-isa na lang, naalala ko kasi talaga UP dorm room, haha!

^Chili1113, i agree it might be good timing for you guys to attend DW :) If you won't be too picky naman with the rooms & shared bathrooms & not being roomed in together i think you will survive. At least from what I've read so far. I'm sure it will be insightful and enjoyable if both of you are the type who can converse comfortably. I wish you all the best!

Just found out my church only charges P300 per couple for the pre-cana... P300! Haha so fiance and I are considering still going there vs CTK sana which is very close to home since free naman our toll and gas to Tagaytay with my car. We'll sign up for July sched perhaps. There's still a chance we'll consider DW if after i recalibrate the budget permits. :) Kaso since we're super stable and open naman fiance would rather pre-cana hahaha.

sparklingjewel, just in case you have budget constraints pa rin you might want to consider the pre-cana in CTK. My friend attended there and medyo patterned din daw after DW. So it might be a good alternative.

^yes CTK is Christ the King :)

sis sparklingjewel medyo magkalapit pala tayo. Well di naman walking distance ang CTK, mga 10 min drive with traffic :) Now ko lang naisip na they accept couples for the Pre Cana pala na hindi sa CTK and wedding? Might be another alternative for us na rin since its nearer than Ateneo (CEFAM).

In fairness to the CTK's pre-cana, I honestly enjoyed it. We got to talk about things that we normally don't discuss. While I haven't been through DW, I felt that CTK's marriage vocation program is a mini version of DW based on what I've heard from friends and from what I've read here. During the second day of the program, I was even telling fiancé that I want to go through the Marriage Encounter. Sabi sa akin, hindi pa nga tapos ang seminar, you want to go through another one? Haha.

I'll let you know once i've asked CTK. Pero feeling ko pwede naman. Was also considering CEFAM pero halos kasingmahal lang pala sya ng DW..e kung ganon DW nalang kung may funds. Pero for now, OLLP/CTK :)

h2b and i attended Marriage Preparation Program - Catholic Engaged Encounter as this is a requirement of the church na pagkakasalan namin. at first we heard this sabi namin parang boring naman yung ganitong seminar. but nung andun na kami at nagsasalita na si Father at yung speaker, e sabi namin sulit na sulit ang binayad namin 1500 (for a 2 days seminar) sobrang dami namin natutunan na dapat ganito ganyan, wag ganito wag ganyan. mas makikilala nyo ang isat isa at madidiscover nyo yung common and differences nyo..ang mas nakaka touch na part dun e yung sa Betrothal pledge..naiyak si H2b sa betrothal pledge ko para sa kanya.. ;D

for all those who prepare for their weddings try this kind of seminar sigurado ako madami kayong matututunan para mapagtibay ang pagsasama nyo.  ;)

thank you sa mga feedbacks nyo sisses

h2b is scared having a cold feet sa DW. paano daw if we discover we are not right for each other ... and i quoted sis meg1104:
DW's success will only depend sa participation ng couple / willingness and openness. So equal benefit and gain lang yun. if no effort, sayang lang. After DW, SUCCESS pa din kahit na
1- continue
2- postpone
3 - separate ways

so sabi ko win-win pa din naman..
1) continue --> business as usual
2) postpone --> more time mag budget/dagdag budget LoL
3) separate ways --> why not e mahal ng annulment ang tagal tagal pa at hassle na process.. my uncle had his annulment ... kung ordinary na tao MATAGAL and Hassle and magastos.. it took 3.5years tapos wala pa rin formal paper to certify he is not married hehe buti na lang his gf is 24 yr old.. hindi pa maghahabol ng time to get married..

finally, pumayag na sya ONLY if i will shoulder 7500php hahaha sabi ko game! hahaha   ;D

Eilln0820: Sis si Fr, Dave Clay ba yung priest sa CEE? He is very good. Is CEE is stay out or stay in seminar??  From what I know it is a stay in seminar, but I might be thinking of something else.

We're not yet engaged but we booked na DW this coming June. At first, I was a little worried baka d pumayag boyfriend ko since he's not really religious but when I told him about it, ang sabi book mo na agad and baka may mas maaga pang sched so we can do it daw prior his proposal. We don't have anything yet like dates or any bookings. We haven't even discussed it with our parents. I'm excited.

^ Very good decision. I am glad you're doing it :) Not to worry much also about "being religious" - there are participants that are not even Catholic.
