Ms Lala will send naman a reminder about what you should bring, like separate toiletries, personal medicine, extra blanket, pillow, etc. Meron naman 1 pillow and 1 blanket sa bed ko, kaso lang manipis and small lang yung pillow. hehe. Simple accommodations nga din naman kasi, retreat house nga hindi parang hotel. If you want to have the comfort like you're at home, better to bring an extra blanket and pillow

^ Call and ask lala na if there are still slots for May 6-8.

"Retreat house" talaga yung place so, except something really simple. It's good nga that starting 2008, may aircon na yung rooms. When we sleep there (some volunteers stay overnight), I also bring my own pillow. And, yes it's in the reminders that we give upon signing up. Pero most participants don't mind it.

I would have to say, ok naman yung aircon. The room is just for two, there's two single beds. So, kayang-kaya ng aircon yung small room, plus if kulang pa, fans are available naman

You share the room with another female participant. Tapos yung partner niyo, sila din ang mag roommate na boys

In my experience, malamig na kaya di na kami nag aircon ng roommate ko. Madami din kasing puno, so presko rin somehow. Plus, december nun.

hehe kawawa kasi si fiance kasi nga may extra sarong lang siya na i packed for him. tapos yung roommate niya, max ang aircon at may electric fan pa! haha wawa naman baby ko hindi ata nakatulog nung 1st night

but yeah the place is so quiet and comfortable. really happy we got to do DW.

and you have to write and get in touch with your emotions, which is probably tougher on most guys. so it's a good exercise from the fiances.

i hope my fiance and i can attend a DW this year pag uwi ko. they have two schedules for sept this 2011 eh. we'll see.

tanong ko lang, bakit may couple na naghihiwalay after attending DW?

^i think it's because pinag uusapan sa DW ang realities ng buhay mag asawa. finances, kids, responsibilities ng buhay. and may ibang couples na hindi pa siguro ready sa mga ganyang realities. hanggang ika nga "pa date date" lang muna. or after all these years, hindi pala compatible ang views nila sa buhay pamilya.

^sis, for me mas dapat kayo mag attend. para malaman niyo kung pwede or kaya niyo ba talaga magsama for life. kesa yung kasal na then tsaka niyo discuss yung views niyo tapos di pala compatible diba...

pansin ko kasi kahit minsan matagal na kayong mag bf-gf, iilan lang ba yung times na nag seserious discussion tayo ng mga plano natin sa buhay talaga. usually puro dates, vacations, happy happy lang pag bf-gf palang eh.

^sis, magi-eight years na kami this coming may2011. in that almost 8 years, i am abroad most of the time. i am beginning to question myself and the realtionship. and lately, i am not so excited with wedding preparation anymore

i justhope wedding jitters or what-not lang ito.

i hope i can squeeze a DW for us.

^ hi charm! uy sabay tayo ng sched ng DW.

excited na rin ako pero medyo kinakabahan. hindi kami kasi talaga mashado nagseserious talk ni h2b. pag tinatanong ko sha regarding plans namin after ng wedding - like how many kids gusto nya, kung mag-baby na ba agad, etc, walang matinong sagot. nakakainis. sana dito sa DW eh mag open up sha saken.

hi mga sis... we have heard about discovery weekend and this could be an alternative sa church requirement na pre-cana seminar. just wondering what happens in a DW and how it can be an alternative sa pre-cana. kasi practically diba, pre-cana is less expensive than DW, and sometimes, it comes na with the church's package. also, i heard that some couples decide not to push through with the wedding after the DW... natakot naman ako dun

^DW is a longer, thorough version of Pre-Cana. In short, Pre cana is a "shortcut"

Again just to reiterate for the common "misconception" -
Yes it might be too pricey compared to Pre Cana but the experience is totally worth it. Attending this
means having a genuine care for your relationship and the sacrament of marriage. Of all the
wedding preps this is the best because it is for your marriage, for the rest of your life.

All of us are willing to pay so much for gowns, bridal car, etc which will be used for the day only.
Pero ito, for the rest of your life and yet, baka cheapest pa nga ito sa items ninyo for the wedding day itself.

ALSO, the fear of breaking up after - walang "kasalanan" ang DW if that's your decision after.
I even think you guys should be thankful for it. Would you like it better na after wedding day pa maghiwalay?
I guess it's better to have the decision earlier. So in case, it is still a success.

Anyway, I know you can't fully understand kasi you've not gone through it. But only if participants
will "participate with their partners wholeheartedly" it is the best weekend you'll ever have.
Kasi wala pa din naman mangyayari if couples won't take it seriously kahit andun sila attending it na.

(sorry if strong ang dating, i just have the passion for this program kasi. kaya nga apostolate namin
mag-asawa to. if only i can make everyone attend, kahit nga sana yung walang wedding palns pa, the better>)

^hindi lang yun ang ineexpect ko given na sikat ang DW dahil malaking tulong daw for the couple.

masyaong slow paced ang discussion. ewan ko, hindi namin type pareho. 4hours lang tinagal namin.
