I haven't heard about someone asking this pa. First time encounter. But probably OMI will allow. Just to "warn" you - here is what is written to the letter sent to participants -

"OMI is a retreat house not a five-star hotel.  Please expect simple lodging facilities.  Meals and snacks are also very simple. (Please inform us if you have food allergies)
 
OMI has no hot water/shower. We suggest you bring a water heater if you prefer hot water for bathing early in the morning. Pail & dipper are available."

OMI retreat house is near Shopwise Don Antonio Commonwealth

I'm just really curious as I am also very interested to try this out.  I just had to ask about the facility since I'm very O.C.  I heard this is a good way to learn more about your future partner pero mahihirapan ako with no hot water, and CR na for sharing. Meron din daw iba who leave early kaya  hindi na natatapos yung retreat.  I appreciate your answer to my question.

hi sis! we've attended the discovery weekend december 2010. it was really a great experience. the room they provided naman are good, liveable naman sya. though wala syang hot water you could bring water heater naman. meron syang sariling CR per room at may aircon din. Provided na rin ang pillows at kumot but you could bring extra if you want. i think wala ka naman magiging problem kasi malinis naman yung place. 

I think dun sa batch naman wala namang umuwi. Mas maganda kasi kung matatapos nyo yung seminar, ilang days lang naman yun na ang kapalit ay lifetime na effect sa buhay nyong mag-asawa. Meron din kaming kasabay nun na GTalker, si sis ima_821, happily married na siya ngayon at they are expecting their baby soon.

Dun po sa nagtatanong about Tito Jojo and Tita Ditsy, They did a wonderful job!!!  Two thumbs up!

thanks bleucharmz22! they are not pushy with religion naman noh? fiance kasi is a humanist but he respects religion of any kind.

yang, not required but this is accepted in lieu of the pre-cana seminar

i did check the other months last night and they have 2 scheds, one in manila and the other's oot, so i'm thinking baka they will have 2 scheds din in December. *wish* *wish* *wish*

Nicoletta If you won't be comfortable with the facilities talaga, I'd understand. It's up to you kasi mahirap mag yun ang problema. Other scenario would be, paying for your own room para no sharing and yes, you can bring a heater or ask to get the room where the heater shower is working. Meron naman room na ganun.

The case of a couple leaving has happened once only because they were bored daw as said here in the thread. But that's our only case in the past 30+++ years. Others would leave because of emergency or sickness but the following month, they are back to finish it.

little_princess ^ she answered re: Tito Jojo & Tita Ditsy already. They are one of the "most senior" couples already. Too many experiences to share with you They know DW by heart already.
~ Religion, no we're "not pushy" and as long as he respects naman (as what you've mentioned), there'll be no problem.

yang A pre-cana seminar is required by the church and some municipalities (city hall) and if you take DW, pwede ng not to take the seminar they give. Just show your certificate from DW. DW is lengthy, more intensive pre cana seminar.

chubbycheeks17 December DW has always been in Cavite for the past 2 years. So baka no chance to have it here sa Manila. Naka schedule and may deposit na kasi yan sa retreat house. The place in Cavite is very nice Facilities are definitely cleaner and better, mas malinis pa sa OMI - this might entice you Of course, yun lang not in QC na. We get this place kasi madami request naman from people in the south area.

how long would it take to get the certificate? i think we need to present this to the QC city hall for our marriage license.

^i think same with CEE, same day as in after the seminar, you will get the certs agad

^^ As mentioned by toodee, yes you'll get the certificate right after (Sunday afternoon). Before going home, you'll have it already.
