when you say setting the aperture to its lowest, it mean lower number? how about for ISO and shutter speed?  sorry ha, i'm not so familar pa with these.

focal length and distance of the subject from the background also contributes to get a blurred background. even if you set the aperture to the widest (lowest number), if you're shooting at 18mm (wide), you won't have a blurred background. try zooming in and have your subject quite far from the background and you'll have a blurred background even if you're not on widest aperture.

^thank you for that. but what do you mean by "shooting at 18mm"? i only have p&s cam ha but with manual settings

^ I'm not sure if zoom blur will work on a P&S cam which relies on digital zoom but tight framing and low aperture will surely help.

ask ko lang kung may photo ako na naka jpeg format, then plan ko pa-develop to 3R or 4R pano ko sya resize?

kase yung nasa jpeg ko pag inopen ko sa Microsoft Office Picture Manager then punta ako sa resize settings, yung lumalabas na size ay 900 x 600 pixels, then pag babaguhin ko pixels pa rin, pano ko yun resize sa:


3R - 3½" × 5" or 89 × 127 mm
4R - 4" × 6" or 102 × 152 mm

kase yung pinagpapadevelopan ko hindi daw naka size sa 4R at 3R yung photo, kaya pag dinevelop may putol na part, thanks sa makakatulong

di na natuloy ang solo photowalk ko..  para kasing mas makakaconcentrate ako pag solo lang. pero minsan naman nakakainip din..  kelangan kasi talaga lumabas para makapagpractice. hindi enough un basa lang ng basa like me hehe...

mga sis can you suggest any workshop for beginner photography? bago lang slr ko and gusto ko agad matuto mga techniques and pano ko mamaximize gamit nito nabasa ko na manual pero i think mas ok kung attend padin ng workshop? any advice and suggestions? TIA!

I just bought my nikon dlsr3100 last week and i started reading/browsing sa basic photography newbie ako wala ako kaalam alam regarding photography.  I just found out this actuator ek ek tee hee! and now para akong napaparanoid mag shoshoot.  Sa mga sisses here na nag phophoto shoot how long na yun camera nyo and so far ano na ang total number ng actuator nyo?

wow 100K shots in 10 months!  ako i have my d5100 since may. 5 months na. pero wala pa yatang 5k shots nagagawa ko. i stopped for some time kasi. nawalan ng gana..  pero now, i'm determined to learn.

I think mas better na maubos ang shutter life ng camera natin at natuto tayo ng husto instead na maluma and camera ng di ginagamit. Baka nga mas mauna pang maging ready tayo magpalit ng camera bago matapos ang shutter life.

newbie sa photography din ako... d3000 yung cam ko.. not sure pero parang blurred yung mga kuha ko mag nakazoom yung lense.. or siguro magalaw lang ako minsan.. planning  to join classes din.. pero after na ng ibang gastos ko... =)
