Reading some of the posts here, nalungkot ako. But at the same time, na-challenge ako to work harder kasi may anak na ako. She's turning 2 this wednesday and sadly, dahil wala pa ako ipon (at dahil hindi ako tinutulungan ng daddy niya) hindi ko siya mapapag-bday ng maayos. Kakain lang kami sa labas ng ate and mom ko. Baka sa Italiannis or something. Haaay life.

Nagpost ako sa isang thread kanina. I was wondering if there is someone who had a lending business na pwede magpahiram sakin ng 15K to start my business. I'm currently a property consultant and I also just got hired sa call center. (Magda-dalawa akong work para ma-meet ang lahat ng needs.) And Ayun, sana makapag-start din ako ng business with that 15K. Can anybody help? I feel so stressed. Sana hindi ako magkasakit.

My networth is currently because of my breeding business and work at CVG... Still need to have that control over money though, if I did that in the past, malamang mas malaki sana value ng assets ko ngayon...

I tried to calculate our net worth for the first time, glad I encountered this thread. Ayun subrang liit lang pala ng net worth namin and worst I read in Millionaire Next Door na book, they calculated the expected net worth by Multiplying your age times your realized pretax annual household income from all sources except inheritances. Divide by ten. This, less any inherited wealth, is what your net worth should be.

I found out 1/5 lang yung net worth namin sa expected using the above calculation. Conclusion, need to invest more.

For me, not much investments aside from a small business with my mom. No debt din naman, thankfully. Masyado kasi na-inculcate sa mind ko yung lesson from my parents: "Don't buy things you can't afford." So medyo takot ako kumuha ng hulugan ever since.

So grateful I came across this thread again. Last Feb, I posted my net worth... Seeing this thread forced me to compute my net worth and I computed it to be 1.6M tapos now, 9 months later, 2.3M na... I was surprised and of course, happy. But my goal for the year talaga is 2.5M so I am still 200K away and 2 months to go nalang... Sana mahabol ko.

I was backreading and was so inspired. Some have net worth of 40M and 100M and nakaka-inspire. Minsan kasi when you read about Henry Sy and the likes sa magazines, hindi masyadong inspiring kasi you get the impression na hindi sila "totoong tao" kasi nga they are so famous. But when GTalkers here share their story, it seems more real... weirdly enough, kahit di naman natin alam true names.

I have a long way to go. I want to be financially independent talaga by the time I reach 40. Which means I want to have around 30M before I retire. Which means I need to exponentially increase my earnings! 

I am really torn din kasi I want to join yung pilgrimage to Israel which costs around 180K... Should I take this trip or not? Ayoko i-adjust yung financial goals ko but I also really want to join this trip kasi, hehe... Haaaaay. Parang if I go on this tour, I lose the 180K and also the potential earnings from it as well... Pero gusto ko din pumunta ng Israel before I become too old kasi lakad-lakad ang tour daw kasi.... Haaaay.

^I would focus on reaching my target financial goal first if I were you. Aside from konti na lang  andun ka na, you're also still very young! You still have lots of opportunities to take that tour. Actually, my dad went on the same tour a couple of years back when he was 60. So still lots of time for you.

Thank you sis for the advice. My mind says no (and obviously, it should be no)... but my heart says yes!

Sa March pa naman actually kailangan bayaran, yung confirmation fee lang this December which is 12K lang naman.  And I think aabot ako sa financial goal ko this year from the way things are going and medyo expected naman tumaas benta this coming Christmas. So, technically, next year ko kailangan maghanap ng extra 180K for the trip.

Just realized... I sound like I am justifying this extra expense. Haaaay.

Based sa formula na nabasa ko dito, I am only worth half what I'm supposed to be at 26. But, still I'm glad because confident naman ako na as my savings and investments grow, mas bumibilis din yung rate na nagggrow ang worth ko. Sana. Hehe.

Honestly ang gusto ko lang is maka 1M before I turn 30 and before I get married, pero I am now inspired to aim higher because of the things I read here.

Suggestion ko lang monbla... write your financial goals down. tapos read everyday at least once... for example: you can incorporate it sa daily prayers mo so that you are reminded of your goal and you are reminded to do something about it daily... either not to spend on a Starbucks frap and just stick to coffe that day... or forgo buying stuff you don't need but your officemate is selling.

Sabi nila the first million is the hardest... and personally, it's true.. But the second million is hard pa rin naman, just less so. God bless sis. I wish I had your foresight to compute my net worth while I was 26.

So it doesn't really matter if you earn six or even seven figures a month if you spend carelessly.  remember, even billionaires get sick, even empires crumble.

I have this principle kasi to save 1/3 of my salary and spend the rest. I love traveling a lot kasi and its something that i dont want to give up. I spend a lot on gadgets too (hindi ako mahilig sa clothes & shoes) pero also invest on jewelleries.

I think its important to be able to enjoy financial freedom without sacrificing the things we enjoy doing (e.g. Traveling, etc). We dont know whats gonna happen tomorrow and we dont want to be the richest person in the graveyard

agree with you, polymath. tamang balanse is the key to happiness :-) i can't say sobrang matipid din ako (hindi ako mahilig sa damit, sapatos, bags o gadgets, pero madami akong vanity vices...and i love food!!! :-P) pero every payday inuuna ko munang i-"pay" ang sarili ko (via top ups in mfs, bank deposits).
