yes, i haven't eaten rice for about 3 months now. at first nakakapraning if you've eaten rice all your life and you just cut it out completely. i've been reading a lot about nutrition and weight loss lately and the science says all forms of grain (not just rice) but flour, the wheat in your supposedly healthy whole wheat bread, your oatmeal, all these low fat low calorie stuff (yes, even your healthy yogurt), the sugar/glucose in junk foods, pasta, potatoes, they raise your blood sugar causing all sorts of metabolic imbalances. the culprit is insulin. so ang sabi you have to eliminate these from your diet. humans have only started eating sugar, grains, flour for the past 10, 000 years and the human body is not equipped to metabolize these kinds of food (especially wheat, which is what flour is made of, it's been hybridized for yield without thought of its long term effects on the body when eaten). especially the highly processed ones that are available right now. these are not filling and are actually addictive (yes, bread is addictive, rice is addictive, ice cream is addictive). it brings about obesity and sickness. i dunno, i just thought i'd share this because i wish i knew this outright instead of spending so much time being overweight and unhealthy. i have lost 21 lbs in less than 3 months and i am rarely hungry with my diet. i think in these modern times we just have to consider eating differently. sori haba ng post. haha.
