Its true that the formula used contains cancer causing chemicals. Although most of the products we use every day and even food we eat contain cancer causing chemicals or substances.

The FDA's warning for the Brazilian Blowout is:

Skin sensitivity can develop after repeated contact with formaldehyde-related ingredients. When formaldehyde is released into the air it can cause serious irritation of your eyes, nose and lungs. It is recommended that you limit your exposure to products that contain formaldehyde-related ingredients to reduce these health risks.

FDA Warning: http://www.fda.gov/Cosmetics/ProductandIngredientSafety/ProductInformation/ucm228898.htm

I've had the treatment done and I will again. I will look into Brazilian Blowout Zero though. The new version meant to contain no formaldehyde. The problem comes with long term exposure. Some people argue that the low level of formaldehyde in the Brazilian Blowout is not enough to cause cancer and you are only exposed to it for an hour or so. The choice to have the treatment done is completely up to you though.

The FDA requires companies to warn consumers about carcinogenic substances. In the US they have these warnings everywhere even at McDonald's.

Hi!

I just want to know kung naisahan ako at a certain salon. I have rebonded hair, rebonded at Tony & Jackey last October 2010 so one year na. Recently my mom decided to treat me to an expensive salon at MOA for Inoa hair color. Pinagpilitan ng stylist na "You need brazilian blowout" and he sweet-talked my mom into forcing me into agreeing to the blowout, but from what I've seen, hindi kailangan ng rebonded hair ang brazilian blowout. P5K  :o ang singil and now two months later my hair actually looks frizzy at the ends (even though I condition the ends everyday with Pantene and I use a sulfate-free shampoo). So from your experience, sisters, was I forced into an unnecessary treatment? Or worse, nakasira ba ang brazilian blowout sa hair ko? :'(

mga sissses, considering may relation din pala sa formaldehyde ang brazilian blowout, does this mean that similar treatment din ito with 'volume rebond' and 'permanent blowdry'? like, differo ent names lang but the same? I was planning to have volume rebond before kasi, then i read about the formaldehyde thingy that caused pulmonary probs and even deaths to some girls abroad, do i didn't push through with it. If brazilian blowout really is the same treatment, naku baka pass na muna ako. -__-

Hi girls! Share ko lang, I regularly get the express version of this treatment, the Keratin Express Blowout, from Piandre din. :) It's almost the same thing except that the procedure takes only about an hour, the effects lasts for only a month and the treatment costs half the price. Bale same treatment talaga siya only shorter yung time frame. Okay naman yung hair ko, hindi ako monthly nagpapagawa but every 2-3 months. :) What I like about the express version is that I can already wash my hair the morning after, so a few hours lang yung downtime. Napansin ko rin nawala talaga yung frizz ng hair ko. I'd recommend this to those of you who are on a budget pero gustong itry yung Keratin treatment. :) Next naman na ittry ko yung Brazilian Blowout, they say the effects of that lasts longer pero wala ring downtime. :)

i had the express blowout done sa studio fix by alex carbonell. it cost me 2,500 for my hair length which is about an inch past my chin). the results lasted more than a month for me. i am using a sulfate free shampoo to help maintain the results. im planning to do the non-express version para mas lasting ang results. i find it a nice alternative to rebonding to make my hair more manageable and healthy (take note though that i already have straight hair).

^was thinking of getting the express blowout... but 1k lang kasi difference :P my hair is below the shoulder (not too long naman)... so medium daw yun... sa express blowout 3500, sa smoothing therapy 4500... so dun na lang ako sa non-express version :P

i bought the pureology sulfate free shampoo also... ang ganda kasi sa hair... ang bango tapos, shiny, smooth, manageable hair :)

I had keratin treatment and haircut at TandJ festival. I didnt notice any change , may be because naka rebond na talaga hair ko. What I do noticed is super shiny hair and gumaan hair ko. Ill wash my hair palang later 1day lang sinabi sakin.

Organic Care Shampoo, from the name itself, it's organic :) no sls, sles, ales, als, petrochemical cleansers and NO parabens. I get it at Watsons. a 400ml bottle costs 220 pesos if i'm not mistaken :)
di ko makita yang brand na yan sa sm makati nor sm southmall.kaya yun Organix na Brazilian Keratin shampoo and conditioner na lang binili ko.I'll be having a Keratin Treatment Blowout on monday sa Essensuals Toni&Guy.im hoping it would last on my really damaged hair.

sabi pala nung SA ng Organix sa sm makati, meron daw sila nung 30 day keratin treatment pero onti lang daw sila kumuha kaya lage OOS.
