Wow buti pa kayo mga HR na...ako gusto ko talaga but ewan ko kung bakit hindi ganyan ang current work ko. Im a Psych grad kasi from UP, last 2008 lang ako grumaduate but my first and current work is in a back office of a Financial Company.

Pano ba maging HR mga sis? I never had an OJT or someting kaya I really don't have any idea kung pano..and just wanna ask if malaki ba compensation ng isang HR? Thanks! :)

naku sis, when it comes to compensation, it really depends sa company.

ako sis nag-start ako as HR dun sa company na nag OJT ako. i applied after graduation and yun na-hire na nila ako. i initially handled the recruitment section tapos eventually transferred ako sa legal section of HR. I've been working as HR for almost 9 years na and ang area of specialization ko kumbaga ay recruitment. though i also have background with regards sa training, employee relations but not much of the compensation & benefits.

Try applying sa pinag OJThan mo baka sakali ma-hire ka nila yun nga lang check if may vacant position sila.

When it comes to compensation, i agree with sis elarose, depende yun sa company.

Try mo mag apply sa mga BPO firms as an HR Practitioner. Usually they are in need of a recruiter, benefits staff and the likes. Nagcoconsider din sila ng mga psych grads na wala pang HR experience pero expect na you'll be given an entry level post.

Sis elarose, I also tried applying in my own company but they offered the post as contractual eh and lower yung compensation than what I currently earn. Hmmm.. but I really, really like to be in HR.

Sa mga BPO ba higher yung compensation nila? And totoo ba na you have be an agent first bago ka nila ma-consider or something?

Thanks sa mga nagreply... and sa mga marereply pa :)

^^ i see.. why don't you try applying sa ibang offices na may opening as HR. yun nga lang you have to try an entry level (minsan clerk/staff position) if you really want to be an HR. yun lang din one of the risk is pag entry level medyo mababa ang starting (minimum the least)

First of all if you want to work as an HR you really have to start in an entry level post. Most of the time, entry levels are either contractual and most companies offer low salary for them (even in BPOs).

In the HR world, in order to climb the corporate ladder you have to start talaga sa pinakababa. HR skills are not taught during college unlike other technical jobs so you need to learn it first. Hindi ka ihihire sa isang specialist post kapag fresh grad ka or no experience at all. So dapat magtiis tiis ka lang. Ang hirap pumasok sa ganitong position dahil andami mong kacompetensya.

Anyway good luck. Hope this helps.

Regarding sa BPO, you need not start as an agent since naka specify naman sa cv mo na you're applying for an HR post. Asfor the compensation since you do not have any HR experience, you will be calibrated as of an entry level's. kunyari ang sweldo nila for entry level HR practitioner is 15k, yan din ang i ooffer nila sayo.

count me in. been in hr department for ten years. employee relations, recruitment, expats administration, training coordination and benefits are the areas i handle.

normally the enrty level position in hr is of course, as hr assistant, then as hr generalist, hr officer or as hr specialist. the next level is hr assistant manager, hr manager, hr senior manager and the highest position is the hr director.
