To those na naging patient ni Dr. Eric Hernandez, ask ko lang what type of sedation ang ginamit sa inyo? IV or inhalation (gas) sedation? Talaga bang sa operating room ginagawa yung ganun? My 2 year old daughter was diagnosed with multiple dental carries (7 molars and 4 front teeth). Nagulat kami kasi the quoted price for the procedure is around 80-95K Nagpamahal dun yung OR fee which is around 20 to 25K (sa St. Lukes Global City kasi). The anesthesiologist fee ranges from 12 to 15K daw.We consulted another pedia dentist. IV inhalation naman ang gagamitin nya. Tapos sa clinic lang. The anesthesiologist fee ranges from 8 to 10K. Which is safer for a 2 year old? IV or inhalation sedation? Ok lang ba sa clinic gawin [textspeak!] teeth restoration or better sa operating room? Hope someone can answer my questions.
Hi sis! i have a same sit like yours. Kelangan din i-sedate ang baby ko para ma repair yung 1front teeth niya, and mga 7 molars din. Sobrang brittle kasi ng teeth niya kaya ang bilis masira. Anyway, we first consulted sa tooth kingdom at SM North The Block. Ang quotation naman nila is 30-40k that includes everything na daw and sa clinic nila gagawin. As per the dentist that we spoke to, mas effective daw kasi ang IV sedation kesa sa inhalation, sa inhalation kasi may chances na magising or mawala agad yung bisa while sa IV, tulog siya and nasa twilight zone. For me, ayaw ko talaga ma sedate ang baby ko, pero seeing his teeth na onti onting nasisira, ayoko naman mabungi siya. He is only 2. kawawa naman! By next week, we will go to Tooth Fairy kay Doc. Jay sana mas mura sa kanila, and Intellicare kasi sila so sana magamit namin ang card dun.Hope this helps sis! balitaan mo ko sa case ng baby mo, likewise I'll update you too!
You could ask Dr. Eric if the procedures can be done using IM/IV sedation in the clinic. You didn't mention in your post what procedures will be done kasi so I cannot really comment.I'm quite intrigued that you didn't mention the other pedia dentist you sought a second opinion of. But the quote of 8-10k is the same price that we charge for anes fee in the clinic. As for Dr. Eric, I assure you that he is the BEST pedodontist I know so far. Yun nga lang, not everyone can afford his price. Should you feel that your child's case should be best managed by a specialist, then by all means get Dr. Eric's services. Pero kung medyo simple but multiple restorations lang, pwede general dentist but with training in pediatric dentistry.
mga mommies na nasa Cebu sino pong Pedia Dentist nyo need na ng daughter ko mag pa dentist..nung nasa Manila kami si Dr Jay ng toothfairy ang dentist nya. sanay sa kanya yung daughter ko though minsan nagpupunta sila dito sa Cebu pero hindi sila makapag setup ng clinic.
We are super duper happy with Dr. Eric Hernandez. Yes, a bit pricey but even my dentist cousin recommend him. Fortunately, our insurance covers his services. Down side is he said that both my kids (4 yr old daughter and 20 month old son) would most likely require braces later on (my genes! ). It helps also that, as we learned only later on, we have so many common connections, among which is his sister who was my highschool classmate but of course no discount since we reimburse his fees from the insurance company.One thing I like about him is that he does not suggest unnecessary treatments just to make money out of you. He does not suggest cleaning nor flouride treatment unless he thinks it's necessary.
