^ Brunei is near Malaysia, you can ride the boat going to Malaysia or you can ride the plane going to Malaysia, there are only limited number of affordable planes going from and to Brunei. Some people do that

^Sis, Brunei is very small so madali syang maikot but you have to hire your own transpo as the sights are far in between. We haven't tried their public transpo as the hotel where we stayed provided us unlimited transpo. Not sure though if other hotels will do that too. We were there kasi during my hubby's training kaya may special arrangement with the hotel. Anyway, as far as I can remember these were the places we went to (this was way back in 2002 ha so am not really updated baka may mga nabago na).

1.) Empire Hotel - that time kabubukas lang nila. Huge hotel complex by the beach! They even have their own man made lake.

2.) Sultan Bolkiah Mosque - with gold leafed domes

3.) Omar Ali Mosque - this is near the main shopping area

4.)  Kampung Ayer - their water village. You have to take a tour to go around the place. Kakatuwa this place kasi it is supposed to be their "squatters area" but look inside the houses and kumpleto ang gamit sa bahay!

5.) Istana Nurul Iman - the royal family's home. Said to be the the largest residential palace in the world. Pero hanggang picture-picture lang sa labas ng gate kami.

6.) Royal Regalia Museum

7.) Jerudong Amusement Park - we didn't bother to go in kasi nothing spectacular naman.

8.) Open market - near the main shopping area. Lots of food!

For shopping, aside from the main shopping area at KG. Sungai Kedayan we went to Gadong and the Setia Kenangan Complex. Here marami ako nabili na antiques, wooden home decors and those embroidered silk telas.

Maraming salamat for sharing!  I do hope my family and I would enjoy this trip.  It seems like an interesting place to explore.  Buti you included the factor of shopping, makahanap sana kami ng mura-murang knick-knacks, just simple souvenirs that would remind us of brunei and of course, some kakikayayan stuffs as well.

yeah, that is why you should add another country together with your trip to brunei! but for the purposes of sight-seeing, i guess brunei is a safe place to be!!

NOTE: NO ALCOHOLS allowed in that country, although tourists can bring i think a few bottles with them....but basically the country is alcohol free!

^Of course naman! As to alcoholic drinks, hotels can serve them to tourists. Or one can have them in private. But for the locals, they have to cross the border to Malaysia para maka-inom.

Napunta lang kami sa brunei because we fly brunei airways to KL and ang tagal ng lay over time kaya we had the chance to explore na rin for a few hours.. isa lang masasabi ko.. sobrang init sa lugar na ito as in iba ang init niya pero still happy pa rin ako na nakita ko siya and napuntahan yung ibang places.. don't forget to visit the empire hotel, yayasan complex, ride the water taxis ha and visit some of the mosques..

mga sis may flight ba ang cebu pac going to Brunie na? plan ko mag solo travel papunta dun mas ok sana kung may makasama sino may plan sa ino mag brunie join na lang din trip ko puntahan yong mga suggested places na naka list dito ano ba mas tipid budget traveler lang ako mag malaysia kaya ako din saka punta brunie from there? makakamura kaya ako? any idea mga sis? tia
