I was able to visit the place 2 years ago when I attended a regional convention. According to some of the Filipinos who were working there, If you're going to work there, you'll be able to save a lot kasi  Tax free sila at wala kang pagkakagastusan.  Wala kang mapaglibangan.  Iisa lang ang mall nila, wala pang mabili.  It's just a small place with nothing much to see and do.  Malungkot di tulad sa atin. Ang tanging libangan ng mga Pinoy doon daw ay mga DVD na galing dito sa atin and manood ng Pinoy soap dramas.  I guess if you're going there with your family, it would be bearable to live there.

^it actually depends on what you're applying for.

it's true that life here is boring cuz you get alot of free time. meaning to say since it's such a small country napupuntahan mo agad yung mga need mong lakarin.. like maggrocery ka lang 1 hour tapos ka na or kahit kung san-san ka na nakapunta paguwi mo maaga paren.. kaya it's up to you on how you will utilize your free time.

hindi naman totoo na puro DVD lang libangan namin dito. kung madami kang friends i don't think that will only be your "libangan".

lumaki ako dito sa brunei tas umuwi na lang ko ng pinas para magcollege. 7 years din bago ko nakabalik dito. at first talaga naninibago ako kasi parang naexperience ko ang "life" sa pinas. pero deep inside i'll always call this place my home.

and what i like staying here is that napapalapit ako sa Diyos kasi talagang nabibigyan ko sya ng time. unlike nung nasa pinas ako kung feel ko lang magsimba tsaka ko magsisimba. kasi parang wala naman akong kilala pag pumunta ko sa church. hindi gaya dito parang mafifeel mo talaga na as one kayo cuz you practically know everyone.. even the filipino priests who did their missions here, nagustuhan nila yung simplicity ng buhay dito.

pero kung ikaw nga yung type ng person na puro party na nasa isip hindi nga ito ang lugar para sa iyo. hehe..
pero malapit lang naman Malaysia dito so if you feel like jammin you can just go there to have a nightlife.

hmm.. to tell you guys honestly, hindi madali makahanap ng work dito ang newly grads, kasi pagdating sa expats gusto nila mei experience dahil mas malaki ang expectations nila..

mei mga kakilala ko dito na professionals sila pero nung hindi nila nakuha gusto nilang work, nagwork sila sa mga simple jobs, like sa mga electronic shops, so in other words as sales clerks.. pero i heard yung pay is like at least $600 (x33php) taxfree, free transpo and housing... not bad narin, i mean san mo makukuha yung ganyan sahod sa pinas, eh sahod na ng callcenter agents na yun..

now, kung mei experience ka, lalo na kung communications ang line mo, madali lang dito.. pati yung computer programming ek ek.. hehe.. yun kadalasan hinahanap dito.. pati engineers... ang laki ng mga sahod ng engineers dito, if you have several years of experience, they can pay you as much as $7K.. and that's just your basic..

about sa websites.. hmm wala talaga ko alam jan... sorry.. hehe
usually kasi sa newspaper ko lang nakikita yung mga ads eh..

hi!  My family availed Cebu Pac promo so we are all visiting Brunei by first week of October.

I know I have lots of time to research but I would appreciate if some of you can share what are the must-see places here and may ok ba na shopping places / night markets?

im just concerned with the schedule in cebu pac, it changed from yesterdays schedule... but anyways, i'm planning not on spending so long in Brunei kasi parang mauubusan ako ng pupuntahan, so i'll find anothe country to visit prior to going back to the brunei-manila flight...

places to visit in Brunei:
1. Jame Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque
2. Sultan Omar ali Saifuddin Mosque
3. Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex
4. near #3 is Kampong Ayer (ride the water taxi)
5. The Mall in Gadong (gadong is like their orchard rd of singapore.)
6. if with excess time - Jerudong Park and Playground (the largest in southeast asia theme park)
7. Empire Hotel and Club (7 star)
8. Royal Regali Museum (Free entrance)
9. Brunei Museum

that is the places i know people should visit, and also those from various blogs.

in our case, we'll be there by sunday (oct 2) midnight and leave by wed afternoon.  hala, baka ma bore to death kami sa tagal?  ganun lang kasi yung ang booking dates ng Cebu Pac eh...is there any country na bus ride lang ang pagitan?  like Sing to Malaysia?
