I agree with fall2pieces and gylbie. Bakit sila meron? Bakit tayo wala? Bakit sila meron? Mataas ba standards natin masyado?

@ pret_ty68 andali nila magmove on siguro kasi off na yung men to women ratio. Minsan naiisip ko sa sarili ko there must be something wrong with me. I've been told to lower my standards and I came to the point na I had to pretend I'm simple-minded (which is a really pathetic move) so as not to end up intimidating  a guy pero they disappear anyway. Anyhow, share ko lang 'to... nashare nang friend ko just recently.  She's getting married this year. She's very pretty btw, definitely not simple-minded and mahinhin w/c would make you wonder why this is her fave quote.

“Women are like apples on trees, the best ones are on the top of the tree. The men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and don't want to get hurt. Instead, they just get the rotten apples from the ground that aren't so good but easy. So, the apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality they are amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who's brave enough to climb all the way to the top because they value quality.”

sad reality, but a lot of guys only want a girlfriend for their own pleasure, you know, sex. bihira ka na makakita ng guy na malinis talaga yung intensyon sayo. i don't hate guys, just based it from experience.

this is a good analogy.  :)

on topic, i just stumbled upon a quote from the Eat, Pray, Love movie:

“People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that’s what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life. “

The answer is love is everywhere..It's just that we keep on finding love not knowing that the one you're looking for is right behind you..Love comes when you least expect it..Don't force yourself to find love..Because when you feel that you're in love it strikes you all of a sudden..and not because you want the feeling of being in love..

Why can't we find love?

Its because we shouldn't be the one finding it but the other way around.

They say, ''If you keep looking for love, you will never find it because love comes at most unexpected time."

Wait for it to find you.

Love waits.
And it'll be worth it.

Romantic love is not a goal. It's one of those privileges in life. :) The more we chase it, the more it eludes.

To quote from a blogger, we just have to exhale, embrace and enjoy to be with that love we truly crave for. :)

Perfect point there, sis.

In truth, I feel it's the environment of each woman that pushes them to find "romantic love" but as you said, it's a privilege! It's just like icing on the cake. A perk. Some of us may end up with a partner, some of us won't and with that reality, each of us shouldn't confine ourselves in wishing and hoping and praying for the right man to fall unto our laps so we could all be "domesticated wives living in a house with white picket fences". I hope every gal here would get what I mean.

Sure, some of us here might have "marrying and being a mother" as part of their goals and I respect that but it wouldn't hurt to lessen the expectation to avoid the frustration in the long run. We've to admit that "quality men" are not that much anymore so we've to be at peace with ourselves (in case we end up solo).

There's no reason in this world to be alone...and miserable. There's always a reason to be optimistic, happy and confident of our disposition. We shouldn't be defined by having a partner in life. We were born whole so the need to have a "better half" should not pressure us into getting one.  ;)

Are you beginning to get impatient with God?
...there's a reason
God isn't giving it to you now.
its not ready yet
and it would disappoint you

Yes.

^Sis, I get your point. I've asked that question a million times (until I found my now ex-bf). It took me like 4-5 years before I got into my next serious relationship and although it didn't end up the way it was supposed to end, I still am content that all the good and the bad happened.

Looking at "wondering why don't I have a partner while other girls have" situation, I feel that the more we dwell on it, the more it slips from our hands. If it isn't meant to be, HE won't grant us our heart's desires. Faith in our Lord will definitely strengthen your resolve, sis. Don't be confined by that thought. As I see it, your self-esteem is being shaken by your status and that's not good. Don't continuously drain yourself by repeatedly asking yourself the following questions like "what's lacking in me?" or "what did I do wrong?" because it will only worsen your self-worth. You are wonderful. You are special in your own way so don't disgust yourself just because you have no "better half".

Believe me, it will come before you know it. Just take your time building yourself. Take care of yourself. Be confident of who you are and that will reflect towards the opposite sex. That confidence may turn out to be your best asset and (could) eventually land you the man you're hoping for.

Never ever take the path to desperation. Just enjoy your being a "singleton" for the meantime! ;)

Mga lalaki talaga ngayon di na persistent. Umayaw ka lang, suko na agad. Nakakainis lang. Kung wala naman talaga silang determinasyon manligawa, sana in the first place di na sila nagparamdam.

There's no question that guys want to be laid pero in their mind they make a judgement of whether pang-kama ka lang or GF-material. So my message to girls is that, know that boys will be boys, they are horny 24/7, but you have to show them you're the kind of girl who deserves their respect, and they will give it to you.

Example: Girl wears provocative clothing (plunging neckline, micro-miniskirts, etc), then she wonders why guys only want her for her body then dumps her afterwards.

A parallel example for guys (para hindi naman sabihin na unfair for girls):
Guy tries to impress girls with his money, buys her expensive stuff etc, then he wonders why he only attracts the kind of girls who are golddiggers.

Hindi ko naman sinasabi that we have to dress like a manang. Pero guys judge us based on how we dress, how we carry ourselves, so let's accept that ugly truth and behave accordingly. :)

I was exactly like this until I was around 25 years old. Then I read the book "How to Find a Date Worth Keeping" ni Dr. Henry Cloud, and things started turning around. I had my first bf at 26, then we married last year. I'm 29 now. I know he is God's best, and it just so happened that when he arrived, the changes that I needed to do in my self had begun, which gave me the wisdom to recognize him.

Walang masama na maghintay sa destiny, pero at the same time mas maganda yung may open-mind tayo about what we can do differently, that could bring us the changes we so want to have in our lives. There is always room for improvement. :)

True, God won't give you something unless you're ready for it. So start getting ready today. :)

One thing more... Being single is a choice. It's not a default option. Trust me when I say that it's not that you can't find love. Sure, there would be guys fawning over you at this very moment. Its just you're not interested because you want something better. If you sprayed eau de desperacion, you'll definitely hit with on any guy. But its not the quality you're looking for. That itself is a choice. :)

Indeed! Or lessons should be learned first.;)

I ask the same question to myself.

I am 21, NBSB (NO BOYFRIEND SINCE BIRTH), currently attending Grad School.

Napapaisip tuloy ako, maybe I am just super ugly and my personality sucks?

I dunno...really.

Insecure tuloy ako.
