For entry level folding bikes, you might want to look into Storm II and Mars Kingdom Velocity. These two are among the popular choices based from what I've read from the folding bike group threads.

Sana nga may rides din ang GTers. Pwede tayong sumali sa night rides ng Tiklop or ng UFB. : )

^ I am into foldies and my folding bike is a Tern brand 8-speed Link model. I got it last March 2008 and have been leisurely biking ever since. I joined the BGC Cycle Asia for the 20k community ride yesterday and it was fun. I was so tired but finished the ride and got a finisher's medal. I have joined previous Tiklop rides and it was alright. They were friendly. Let me know sis if you plan to join the rides. I am not a hard core biker and i get anxious joining them because they really can withstand long bike rides and even uphill ones which I still find a difficult thing to do. Let me know just in case.

^^ True, try out the bikes from people you know who owns one first since comfort is very important when buying a bike. It took a while for me to really be comfortable riding out using my bike too.

^^^ I agree sis gulaysk, We must invest on a good helmet and always have blinkers and lights at night. Safety first!

Hubby bought a mountain bike for me.  Sa loob lang ng village namin ako nakakapag bike and finally, last Saturday night, isinama na nya ako for a night ride outside our village... Ayun, ang sakit tuloy ng braso ko kahapon and muntik na akong lagnatin.. Ganun ba talaga yun???

Just got my Storm III Folding Bike today nagtest ride na rin ako for a few minutes on my way home and I must say, I liked how it's easy to fold/unfold and yung feel nya parang normal bike lang din. Napaka  agaw attention nga sa lrt and supermarket (dumaan ako ng save more and took the train from the bike shop in Gil Puyat) and naririnig ko yung mga nakakakita naeencourage din bumili ng folding bike

Hello. Maybe someone can recommend a good full-face bike helmet? Yung lightweight at hindi masyadong mainit yet still provides adequate protection, especially when going downhill. Thanks!

^7k - 10k nalang ang storm.. try mo din yung japan brand na doppleganger.. meron sila nasa 10k lang may bike basket na kasama yun.

Subscribing. I owned 1 peerless (16inch) and a 20inch pink/white Tern D(eight)(tiklop). longest ride ko is from Mandaluyong - MOA, 27km. so far yan palang ang longest ride ko
Yesterday I did, Mandaluyong - The Fort (20km).

^yep i heard okay ang storm.. yung peerless ko siguro 6months pinalitan ko na siya! hehe 8k din ang bili ko dun sa peerless ko, practice bike lang talaga kasi when i bought my bike, di ako marunong.

ako! pero hindi ako fan ng may kambyo. gusto ko single speed lang, naka coaster brake or pag may topak, fixie.

sa quiapo madami. kung may alam ka sa bikes, you can build your own. pag wala, either friend mo na marunong o buy na ng buo. depende kung san mo gagamitin yung bike.

ok ang folding kung commuter ka. pag ayaw mo na pumadyak, tiklop mo at sumakay sa lrt/bus/cab

using Dahon MU uno and Transit. parehas naka coaster brake saling pusa member ng Tiklop Society of the Phils. (let's avoid politics  )

medyo madami na din akong rides na nasamahan. i also go biking to work (Makati-Taguig).

about sa bike groups
- madami po jan. nasa inyo na lang po kung san kayo sasama. they both have rides for newbies and experienced bikers. just let them know na newbie kayo so they can assist you

regarding sa calf
- kung hard core biker ka, as in you make your bike as your primary transpo. yes, magiging toned at medyo lalaki.

kung newbie sa folding bike (im not an expert tho) try nyo kumuha ng lesser weight. consider nyo din kung san nyo gagamitin. either for commuting or leisure. if you can try riding it first, better. you should be comfy while riding

RE: bike groups
meron din UFB, united folding bikers - pag foldies nga lang pero you can join naman kahit ano gamit mo na bike. Once lang ako nakasama sa ride nila kasama BF ko and 1 our friend, Monday riede ata yun.. BGC -- MAKATI lang route.

- may monthly meeting ang TSP every first sunday of the month sa UP-D library. attend ka lang, be there by 6am. everyone is welcome! di lang ako maka bike now since im 20W preggy. but let me know kung gusto mo pumunta.
