sis aquacharly, what's the first hermes bag that you recommend to get?
alam mo, i never thought i would be into bags. eh when i decided that i would buy lv, i started with a speedy. sabi ko 1 lang na expensive bag, okay na ko. then i bought more. same thing with the other brands, i start with a classic style pero parang nadadala ako bumili ng mas marami...hay. ngayon gusto ko ng hermes but im not sure where to start.

Given I have hindsight now... well, I would say buy the bag you foresee you can use the most often.
Ganito kasi, some buy coz it is the IT Bag/color, or kasi it is the only one in front of their face in the Hermes stores... Tapos, they have it na, pero they still hanker badly for the bag in their mind they think suits them best. So I would say, go for what you really really know you will use often, and not leave in your closet.
I would recommend Togo Birkin 35. BUT some petite women, they look more perfect wearing the smaller 32 -- like Cathy Valencia -- the smaller 32 fits her perfectly! And, she generally gets the color she wants easily, kasi the 35 is the one most in demand size - so harder to get. Daw.
The Kelly is also something to consider seriously. Young career women, lalo na pag single, IMO == look very good with the Kelly, than the Birkin.
(Classic for me is the black Kelly with gold hardware, I keep having visions of Gwyneth Paltrow in that movie where her hubby, played by Michael Douglas, tries to kill her.. and she has that yummy artist lover... hahaha... Beginning to end, she had that just 1 bag on her. Classy.) But, well, a Kelly is just not that workable for me .. I have kids and tons of docs/now the IPAD to lug around... hirap magsara or keep closed the Kelly eh. (But I put in an order for it at GB3 -- baka daw Fall next year, meron na. hay buhay.)
I had colored ones, then talaga realized hindi ako mapakampante until I get hold of a black togo. Now it is the one I use most often coz it goes with anything (the light colored ones die on me, my blue jean.. hay naku, nagka color transfer from my denim pants... akala ko ako lang may ganong experience until Hermes Manila said yes... denim pants kahit na sabihin mo branded mahal ekek eh tend to transfer their colors to Hermes bags. ngek) But that does keep me from buying the colored ones? No, pero I now try to keep away from the lighter colored ones.
Actually now, people choose bag colors that they just love. Anything goes na di ba. Any outfit color with any bag color. hahahaha Now they call it "color blockinig". O, sige...
So there, SISTAH, get whatever style and color you see yourself using most often. Do not be swayed na this color is the IT color, you will be the only one in MManila or among your friends to have it.. or una ka... just get what you really wanna use almost everyday.
Frequent use is what will give you your return on your investment.
Heck, it's just a bag to use and enjoy, it should not define you... so bugbugin mo to an inch of its demise, a bag is meant to be used, not preserved.
