sis coco chanel and swtgrl_bee, try to ask your neighbor baka may ma irecommend sila.. the hilot thing is part of the pinoy style of ge-lai. in chinese, walang ganito. my mom (pinoy) didn't recommend for hilot on my case, kasi na CS ako. so hindi na kami nag hanap ng hilot...

We are under the same sky… so then, for that day, silently and strongly

iba iba talaga sis ang mga beliefs.. it's up to the mom kung alin at kung ano ang gusto nya i-apply sa sarili nya...

hilot - - iba iba talaga din belief dito. sabi naman ng mom ko, ng hinilot sya after ipanganak ako, nahirapan sya to conceive  a baby. my brother is 11yrs younger than me.

i also nurse my baby since birth til now. even glucose wala syang nainom. milk ko lang talaga. na CS din ako. pero go go go pa din sa ge-lai kung ano ang kaya namin gawin ni hubby. so far, hindi naman nagkasakit baby ko dahil hindi ako naligo ng isang buwan. ;D  cleaning your breast once a day is enough. airdry lang ng tirang milk sa breast malinis na and moisturized pa  ;D

when i had my d&c, i eat ge-lai foods but di ko na take yung nilalagang herbs as water kaya hininto ko yun..as for taking a bath, after 3days naligo na ako ng lukewarm water, eto buhay na buhay naman ako wala namang side effects..plan ko after giving birth is maligo talaga, yung ge-lai foods ang susundin ko. kanya-kanyang belief din naman yan  :) i came from medical field kaya dun ako sa hygienic side.

may kilala ba kayong hilot? need ko for my SIL sana may makapagPM ng contact number. thanks!

Indi ko lang nasunod is yun pag drink ng seravallo wine at hilot kasi up to now hanap pa din ako manghihilot. :(

I was told that my first meal after c/s should be pesang lapu lapu too (you can add misua).
Avoid fruits, sodas and anything cold.
Drink the chocolate.
Eat adobong manok but use sesame oil.
My first bath should be taken with warm water of one kilo boiled luya/ginger.

i don't follow all of it, i just the ge-lai foods such as lapu-lapu, egg with sesame oil, adobong chicken with sesame oil, etc. but i did not drink the serravallo wine.  and 3 days after my c/s delivery naligo na ako. hindi ko kayang hindi maligo for a month.  and yun din ang utos sa akin ng OB and mom ko (physician din mom ko).

^ako sis i use the instant ba un?un bilog bilog na nabibili sa supermarket, tablea premium around 90++ . i boil the tablea lang every morning.

natapos ko na din gelai! yey!
here's the things i did:
1. No bath for a month--- punas punas lang :)
2. I sit twice a day on boiled guava leaves
3. I ate lapu lapu-- pesang lapu lapu lagi ang luto kahit  super sawa ako go pa din ako sa pagkain! hehe.
5. I wore a girdle as per advise by my OB instead of binder kasi tumatama daw sa tahi ang binder. (CS Bikini cut)

Mag ge-gelai ako my MIL bought me already herbs that will be consumed for the whole month. Actually 40 days yun di lang 1 month. You can buy the herbs in HONG KONG CHINESE DRUGSTORE in Ongpin. They will also provide you with instructions ( In Chinese and English) Good luck to me sana di ako masyado mangati sa dandruff dahil di nga ako maliligo. I will give birth this Oct 2010.

hay! My MIL also prepared all the necessary things na kelangan for my ge-lai she already bought  medicines from her trip to HK and China . Im due to give birth this November  sana  nga makayanan ko  na hindi mag take ng bath for 1 month. Pwede daw  sponge bath with warm water.  And i have to wear hand gloves if i brush my teeth  kasi bawal mabasa yung hands ko and 24/7  open  yung aircon and nakakulong lang ako sa room for the entire month.  :-\
