yung wine, pwede ba yon kahit breastfeeding?

and no bath for 1 month.. eh pano si baby, punas-punas din ba? kasi syempre ako magpapaligo kay baby..ayoko i-asa sa yaya..baka mainggit ako kay baby pag pinaliguan ko sya.. LOL!

actually, i never believed in this kasi nung 1st ko, ligo ako agad, shorts agad..for me kasi all those are just pamahiin..hindi naman yata pala.. kasi nabasa ko about the varicose and spider veins baka attributed by the "cold" eh yun ang inis na inis ako..since nanganak ako sa 1st ko ang dami ko nang ganon! kaya i might try this ge-lai to avoid having mroe spider veins

one more question, no ligo for 1 month - kahit hilamos ng face di rin pwede?

^ge-lai actually originated from china, however the "no bath" rule is not really applicable specially with our humid environment. kahit dito sa singapore yung mga confinement nanny they tell you you can take a bath but quick lang, tipong 10minutes and dapat warm water.

i don't think it's right to sacrifice hygiene specially with a baby around. ang baby pinapaliguan if i'm not mistaken. ge-lai is primarily sa mom lang applicable, not for the baby.

share ko lang, my masseuse told me she dropped one of her clients sa post-natal massage dahil di nya kinaya ang amoy nung chinese client nya. ang dumi na nga daw sa bahay tapos ang dumi pa sa katawan, she just gave her a refund instead ;D

also related to this, my wish kasi sa mga younger brothers ko after i give birth is to bring a Ben&Jerry's ice cream for me sa hospital! But upon reading about ge-lai..nako.. madedelay pa pala ng 1 month ang ice cream ko :(

^sabi nga ng mga doctor dito, everything should be in moderation, kung ako sayo ikain mo na yan, wag lang maparami. i've been talking to the moms na nakakasabay ko sa birth classes & some of them even eat mcdonalds right after giving birth, buhay na buhay pa naman sila & mukha lang nilagyan ng bola ang tyan ngayon ;D and with the bath issue naman it makes sense kadiri naman kasi na maghahandle ng bata tapos d naliligo? eww naman, ang hygiene :P problem kasi satin andami sabi sabi but pag hinanapan mo ng medical basis, wala rin.

basta importante is to get enough rest after giving birth, after all, we all deserve it after carrying our babies for 9mos. get a post-natal massage, eat nutritious food specially yung mga niluluto with ginger para lumabas ang lamig sa katawan, chocolate drink are also highly encouraged.

nung naging first time mom ako talagang ginawa sa akin ng lola ko yan, so ako naman dahil mahilig maligo badtrip too the max imagine summer pa ako nanganak , pero iniisip ko di naman ako ganon kabaho dahil 3 times a day ako change ng damit and everytime  I changed clothes e nagpupunas ako ng mal alcohol yung water, ... sabi kasi matatanda mahirap mapasukan ng lamig sa katawan, at mapuslitan daw ng hanging kaya yung iba nababaliw sa panganganak dahil daw sa kapabayaan. iniisip maaring totoo kasi 2 kapitbahay namin na nabaliw dahil after manganak e naliligo habang naglalaba... scary

hay! buti na lang nalagpasan ko ang pagsubok i gave birth on Nov. 16 my po geh lai  has officially ended. I took a bath on Dec. 14 di ko na kasi matiis nagpabili ako ng dahon sa quiapo. My MIL even advised me to take a shower quickly di ko nga sinunod hehe...  :P  baka daw malamigan or pasukan ng hangin  after taking a bath, i applied virgin coconut oil all over my body. I ate lapu-lapu soup, lugaw with fish & ginger, black chicken, tinolang manok with malunggay   and i drank  o-tso tong sim religiously breakfast is oatmeal with tablea and egg misua. Di ko lang ininom yung wine kasi di ko ma -take amoy niya and i couldn't imagine what it would taste like...

Almost all my food has ginger in it. Masuka-suka na rin ako sa lapu-lapu and liver/kidney. I also drank o-tso-tong sim and tablea. I also didn't drink the wine coz it makes my whole body itch.

I don't take a bath for about 2 weeks lang, pero nagpupunas ako and I put vinagre (tonic) on my basin for my washcloth. I discovered a shampoo na no-rinse, so I will be using that for my ge-lai this time around. Lagi rin ako naka-pjs at home, para di raw malamigan ???

^ sis, the name is no-rinse shampoo. Bought it at watson's. I've tried using it on my make-up brushes and so far, nalinis naman. Yung 8oz around Php250, may smaller bottle than that but forgot how much.

You can use gloves during ge-lai to give baby a bath.

Hi
will this still be beneficial for me? naka 2 pregnancies na ako na wa-care sa mga Gelai traditions, I'd like to try it this time on my 3rd pregnancy/childbirth since nabasa ko ang lists to do here.

Nakakatakot mabinat
