sometimes, i don't get these med reps. what's the fuzz with getting my signature? even while i'm having my lunch, they'll interrupt you.

probably na-trauma ako kasi my ex bf was a med rep. he did admit to me before na ginagaya nila ang pirma ng mga duktor.

Hello girltalkers/guytalkers in the medical industry! I really need your help, if you could suggest schools in Manila area na mura lang that offers organic chemistry/biochemistry (5 units) subject. He needs to get this subject, [textspeak!] mga prominent universities that offers the subject mahal kase ang misc fees, he only plans to take one subject in any school in Manila. Appreciate your help. Thanks everyone.

pasensya na po. i don't know which schools in manila offer organic chem &/or biochem na mura lang. (btw, they're 2 different subjects). try nyo po sa PLM.

@kawen: Noong undergrad ako sa UP manila bio, may kasama kaming from other schools who were taking extra bio units lang. i dunno if this applies to chem subjects though you can ask at the Office of the University Registrar (in front of Robinson Ermita Faura exit) to confirm =)

Im really confused..

I was able to get the partial scholarship at St Lukes (Ill be paying around 27K instead of 113 per semester+free books)..

I really want to pursue med there this june but I have apprehensions regarding maintaining the scholarship..Im already 25 and ayokong maging pabigat na sana sa parents ko if ever magmed ako. I have to maintain at 80-85% GWA, without any grade below 80%

smga doctors na po dito, is it really difficult to maintain that average sa med school. I know ibang iba ang level ng toxicity sa medschool kesa sa undergrad.

I also got in sa UE, pero wlang scholarship, I qualified din sa interview ng PLM, hinihintay ko pa final results..

^Hi, you may consider your applications at SLMC. Its a good thing that you were able to avail of the scholarship, kahit na partial lang and it includes free books.  It would be much of a help since I paid around 15k-17k for the books alone(for all of my 1st year subjects). Yun nga lang, since you'll be a scholar, you really have to work hard on your grades. For you to be on the safe track, dapat first sem pa lang maganda na yun grades mo kasi mahirap makahabol come second sem lalo na for scholars, if possible, double effort, kasi i have scholar classmates (btw, im not from SLMC) na mukhang nanganganib matanggalan ng scholarship due to not so good marks.

UERMMC and PLM are both offering quality education but since you have mentioned budget concerns(correct me if im wrong), best bet is PLM.

Agree na ibang iba ang med school sa pre med. Like in my case, it took me almost a year to finally adjust with med school life since i've been with HR for approximately 5 years kaya naimprove ko lang ang study habits ko late second sem na and it was really really hard to catch up and make up for my horrible first sem grades.

Your advise is really a big help..I'll keep those in mind..Ive been in the academe for the past 5 yrs naman po, bilang college instructor, so kumbaga hindi rin nagstop yung pagaaral ko, parang everyday may report, hehe..me konting konting ipon kaya ako nalang muna gagastos sa tuition ko this first year if ever makadecide na nga ako sa SLCM..

I'll wait for the PLM result, then I'll decide..Thanks ulit!

congratulations on getting that scholarship at SLMC.

yes as stated by lil_mango, mahirap magmaintain ng GWA for scholarship.  your academic load in undergrad is nothing compared to the academic load in med school - sobrang daming aaralin/gagawin in so little time + pressure.

if you are hesitant/doubtful on applying at SLMC, you can risk waiting for the results at PLM. definitely, the tuition there is cheaper (with scholarship or not).

ano maganda BP ap na pwedeng ma-suggest niyo? hehe. nakaka-2 palit nako, yung steth ko, walang pangdinig na 1 ear piece (1 yr naman sakin), tapos yung bili ko ngayon parang masisira na yung bp ko wth. nag-bp kasi ako ng nag-bp nung nagpa-aero kami!

^I use Baxtel sphygmo (600-800php in Bambang) my IM residents prefer it too, but now ayoko na hawakan ang cuff nya 

it's been through about a hundred patients, 10% of whom are dead or dying indigents. yarr T_T need to get disposable cuffs @_@

Welch Allyn is around 10k pesos ata, and masarap sya gamitin diba, pero not worth it talaga if it won't be for home use O_o

maganda nga daw baxtel, bakit mura lang bili mo? 600-800? may co-intern ako, 1k bili niya steep masyado yung kanya.

layo ko sa bambang, and never been there. cavite lang ako huhu. welch, never heard. digital ba yan o aneroid? meron kasi yung omron, almost 4k lang siya, pero ewan ko kung maganda ba yun. digital na siya. RR na lang kelangan kunin. hehe (trabahon tamad)

akin hindi ko naman kelangan mag-dispose, out-patient naman ako. meron akong in-patient (cervical myeloradiculopathy lang naman kaya walang kung ano mang nakakahawang sakit or etc).

with regards sa sphygmo, i used baxtel (aneroid type). i had it calibrated frequently kasi madalas na nahuhulog yun.

for the steth, i used littmann classic (until now). it's a good investment na rin since i knew that matagal kong magagamit yun. i just had to take good care of it since pwede yun agawin or nakawin ng iba.
