it's been a week since medical clerkship started for me. Internal Medicine ER ang first rotation ko.

At first, medyo ayoko talaga humawak ng indigents (oo maarte ako), pero ngayon keber na lang. I learn from them after all. Lagi na lang ako naka-mask dahil most of the patients has tuberculosis 

Exciting sa Emergency room. Pero parang may bipedal edema ako after my first 36 hour duty. 

i remember IM din ang first rotation ko nun. sobrang na-culture shock ako. and iba yung feeling ko after i had my very 1st hospital duty.

I belong to the highest-paying category sa PLM because I'm not from Manila, but I had high college grades and NMAT rating so they accepted me. If I moved to Manila during my first year, could my category be changed so I could pay lower tuition fees in the following semesters?

I belong to the highest-paying category sa PLM because I'm not from Manila, but I had high college grades and NMAT rating so they accepted me. If I moved to Manila during my first year, could my category be changed so I could pay lower tuition fees in the following semesters?

hay buti ka pa sis, terrible ako talaga sa practicals. sayang nga nun last practicals namin arteries and meninges lang un coverage yet ang inaral ko ay thalamus. akala ko kasi super practicals (fr 1st day of 2nd sem-present) ang coverage. hay. waterloo ko to  pero mas super waterloo ko ang gross ana hay hay

hindi na ata pwede. the only way you can lessen your tuition fee is when you get a grade of at least 2.5 =)

ang sarap pag-praktisan ng mga px sa public hospitals. 3 tries ako bago ako naka-arterial sa patient. nakakaawa sila, pero at least they don't complain that much kasi libre naman sila =p

We had an ER patient, 33/M with CKD stage V and severe anemia. RH negative ang blood nya (tested twice na). So mahirap hanapan ng blood for transfusion. He had 6 kids.

Chief complaint was difficulty of breathing. The family signed a DNR.

We watched his pulmonary congestion progress.

We watched him die.

All the while doing our usual ER things like kwentuhan and eating.

I am now officially desensitized.

^thanks sis waah. lapit na ng semestral exams namin huhu. dami ko hahabulin na readings esp sa gray's. how i wish si snell nalang ginamit namin for gross ana

^yup doc,grays ang ginagamit namin for gross. yun ang primary reference namin.     ang complex pa naman nya intindihin huhu

yeah. i tried to read it (in our lib) once but wala pa 1 page, sumuko na ako. we used moore's anatomy before.

Surprisingly naka four chapters ako kanina ng gray's doc ok lang po ba kaya kung aralin ko this summer and during 2nd year ang gross anatomy para mamaster ko ang mga body parts?di din kasi ako nakafocus sa gross masyado eh thanks

don't forget to have fun during your summer vacation. darating ang time na wala ka nang bakasyon.

susulitin ko na ang bakasyon this year kahit na 3 weeks lang (may compre kasi). Doc, gumamit din po ba kayo ng board review series books before?

^ yes but hindi sa lahat. yung physio & patho BRS lang. but i used it for the local boards review.

^ah ganun po ba, gumamit ako ng brs sa gross kanina and gagamit naman po for neuro ana exam. sana makatulong sila

Mga sis, I need help, assistance and divine intervention!! LOL
I'm planning po kasi to enroll sa UERM this June. I'll be taking up the NMAT this April palang.. pwede po kaya yun?

This med school thing just got rushed kasi I had to decide up to the last minute.. I really wanted to go to UERM.. or UST perhaps (pag yumaman nako ng bonggang bongga  )

My friend told me na last Jan 15 pa daw last day ng pasahan ng reqs for the admission??

Please tell me this isn't happening..
