tanong ko lang po: plano ko kasi bumili ng kindle 3 na wifi, icacard ko sana then papadala ko sa house ng friend ko sa US then sya mag uuwi saken dito. paano ba ang process? tatanggapin ba nila yung card ko? kasi diba free shipping sila ngayon saka discounted pa yung wifi version. may account nako sa amazon nga pala. nacoconfuse lang ako kasi diba merong parang condition na dapat pareho yung shipping address mo at yung billing address ng credit card mo?

^sis may option sa Amazon na send as a gift. So you can do that, parang ang lalabas.. gift mo yung kindle sa friend mo. HTH

Chinarge ko yung Kindle ko gamit yung wall plug. Sinaksak ko sya ng ~1am tapos natulog ako. Pagkagising ko ng ~8am hindi pa fully charged samantalang nung nag-charge ako via USB sa PC, within 3 hours fully charged na. Same level lang sila nung chinarge ko. Parehong nag-flash na screen yung Your Kindle is running low on battery message. Bat kaya ganun? Ganito din ba ang Kindle nyo?

^ sakin wala pa naman akong naeencounter na ganyang problem. pero you said na if usb nagchacharge naman kindle mo. so i guess yung main plug mo ang may defect? try other plugs to double check sis.

may kindle case or skins ba na available dito sa philippines? mejo hassle kasi and expensive if sa amazon ko pa bibilhin eh.

So now I'm using my iPad 2 for reading a Google book I bought. I still prefer my Kindle DX for ebook reading. Longer battery life, better display, feels way lighter and It's not as easy to get distracted ie. Playing games or surfing....like what's happening as I'm posting this. Lol!

Google books doesnt have a built in dictionary, have to use their web interface for that...unlike Amazon Kindle apps. No highlighting too in Googlebooks.

Ok... Back to reading 

^^ sis if you do a search on ebay may makikita kang skins and cases. i prefer sleeves pero wala akong mahanap kaya nag order pa ako sa etsy.

^ sis may sleeve na ako eh ang ginamit ko yung sleeve for samsung galaxy tab, sobrang sakto siya sa kindle same size talaga!

ngayon ang hanap ko talaga yung parang leather case style para may mapag-ipitan ako ng booklight! thanks sa reply sis!

sis, if you're looking for folio type case - meron ako nakita online. the cheapest i found available locally is around 1,250 sya at meron din nung kindle lighted covers. i got mine with the help of one of our gt sis here. ako rin i prefer this style kasi feeling ko it offers more protection. masyado kasing manipis ang kindle eh notorious pa naman ako for leaving my stuff kung saan saan.

I personally prefer the sturdier leather cover if you're bringing the Kindle around and stuffing it in your bag. Dami ko nang nabalitaan na nagkaron ng black splotches yung Kindle nila due to pressure applied on it. Kaya careful nalang when putting it in your bag or leaving it lying around

The kindle cover that can be bought from ebay is nice. Ilang months ko ng gamit and very protected ang kindle ko. Plus it's not so pricey since local binili.

^yeah i think it is. though check mo sis kung kailan binili ng seller sa amazon yung kindle. kasi kung matagal na, ibig sabihin tumatakbo na yung 1 year warranty niya. sayang kasi yun e. yung kindle ko nag "freeze" sya sa screensaver but since under warranty pa, pinalitan ng amazon and was shipped to me for free.

sis can you share your experience with amazon's customer service? papabili kasi ako sa friend ko na pupunta sa US, and i was wondering if ever magfreeze or something, do i call them (toll free?) and ship the defective one to them? sasagutin ba nila yung shipping both ways?

i'll be using my PH credit card nga pala, order from here, pabitbit ke friend pauwi.

hi sis, i've already tried ordering from a seller on etsy and it's been almost 2 months pero hindi pa rin dumadating yung package ko so i can't give you feedback about the sleeve i ordered:(

@sis sweetbabycakes, our experience with amazon's customer service was a pleasant one. I actually wrote a detailed blog post about it months ago. Here it is: When My Kindle Failed

Yung amin din pinabili ko sa friend from US. My tip is whether or not ikaw or si friend mo yung bibili, make sure na pag na syo na yung kindle, register it in your amazon account. When we called their international number, pinatawagan ko kay hubby and he used the office phone since pwede international calls sa office nila. Then nung sabi na papalitan nila yung kindle, one week lang nadeliver na sakin. Free delivery yun. Then I also shipped them the frozen kindle. May link sila na ibibigay syo para you can email them the shipping number para ma reimburse nila yung binayad mo. If the link doesn't work, call them again telling na pinadala mo na sa kanila yung frozen kindle and right there and then irereimburse na nila yun tapos magrereflect na yun sa credit card mo na may nareceive na payment from Amazon. That's actually what we did. Okay sila kausap sis. The best customer service ever talaga sa Amazon.

^sis i bought the $189 kindle, yung may 3G+wi fi. I don't think may chat option sila kasi ifever baka sa chat na lang din kami nag usap. may mga itatanong pa kasi yung agent like kung nahulog ba yung kindle, etc. so gusto nila sa phone talaga. HTH!
