^congrats on getting your Kindle!!  It's a totally differet reading experience.

 I could have chosen to get other ebook readers or even tablets but I decided to get the Kindle and so glad that I did.  My daughter loves to read too, ill buy her the smaller Kindle if she asks for one ;-)

^ i agree! i briefly considered getting an ipad but finally decided to get a kindle because i don't really need all the added functions that tablets come with. plus it doesn't hurt my eyes when i read on it.

how do you classify your collections? sa pagka-OC ko kasi gusto lahat ng books naka-classify.

^ako by authors. Wala kasing sub folders yung Kindle kaya can't do an author then by series folder. Kaya I just make it (collections) by authors.

^ hmm oo nga ok to classify by authors. ako naman by genre. minsan kasi 1 book lang ang gusto ko from an author kaya mas konting folders pag by genre.

^you guys must have lots of books already for you to consider classifying by authors. right now, my collections are only as to Kindle books (complete ones), Samples and Audiobooks. Hahaha!

have you tried converting epub books to mobi or do you guys always get books from amazon?

^always sis. i actually haven't got any books from Amazon yet. There are free ebooks out there in the net that you can download in epub or pdf format then I just convert it to mobi using calibre. Dati dun sa ebook list thread, we used to share ebook files kaya lang pinagbawalan kami ng moderator. hehe

I use Calibre, too! Best way to keep track of your ebooks, IMO. Do you guys use dropbox? I have an account there and I use it to store my ebooks in a "cloud". Pwede ko sila i-access anywhere, and I can share them with friends.

^I do. Dropbox for my documents 2gb,and Amazon cloud for my music, 5GB.

^^Yup, I have dropbox account. Lately though I can't download the file I have on my dropbox thru 2 of my wifi signal at home. But pag 3G gamit ko. I can download it.

Do you guys have this problem? Can't download sa wifi signal but okay sa 3G?

i've tried using calibre and ok naman pero medyo nababagalan ako, and i noticed umiinit yung laptop ko. but generally ok naman yung converted mobi file.

i got my kindle just yesterday and i've already downloaded a few of the free ebooks on amazon. winner! i just love the resolution. and now i can bring my books wherever i go!

Sis beachgirl, how did you download the free ebooks from amazon? Di ka ba na-aaffect ng geo-restrictions? Kasi I've found that the ones that are reported as "free" in US based blogs still have prices when i go to the amazon website, probably because I'm registered as a Philippine customer.
