hi sis, i've already tried ordering from a seller on etsy and it's been almost 2 months pero hindi pa rin dumadating yung package ko so i can't give you feedback about the sleeve i ordered:(

That's quite a wait, sis. I hope it arrives soon. Etsy has really cute sleeves for e-readers.

^sis i bought the $189 kindle, yung may 3G+wi fi. I don't think may chat option sila kasi ifever baka sa chat na lang din kami nag usap. may mga itatanong pa kasi yung agent like kung nahulog ba yung kindle, etc. so gusto nila sa phone talaga. HTH!

ah ok. iingatan ko si kindle para walang mangyaring aberya. saka nga pala, already ordered the wifi one, yung 139, since i learned na yung 114 me restrictions sa returns. darating sya 1st wk of august. anyway, am quite excited and am looking for ebooks sa ngayon para pagdating nya, load galore na lang. thanks for all your help, sis. :-)

^you're welcome sis. congrats on your kindle. actually yung akin din ingat na ingat ako...hindi ko yun nahulog pero nag freeze pa din. may mga ganun cases daw talaga kaya ang Amazon nagpapadala talaga sila ng bago pag nangyari yun. But ofcourse, let's hope hindi yun mangyari sa kindle mo.

My tip is whether or not ikaw or si friend mo yung bibili, make sure na pag na syo na yung kindle, register it in your amazon account.

pwede sis i-register sa amazon account mo yun kindle even if you bought it from a reseller? and same din kaya yung warranty?

magkano inabot ng kindle mo sis with the shipping and all? nag-iisip pa kasi ko kung direct sa amazon ako kukuha or sa reseller na lang sa ebay (mukhang legit naman kasi).

hi mga sis, maganda ba talaga ang kindle for ebook reading? kasi my parents are advising me to buy a tablet instead kasi nga mas madaming functions like web browsing etc. black and white pa and most of the books i read are technical books with screenshot for web designing, graphics designing. but dati ko pa talaga gusto yung kindle. may plan na nga ako ng leather cases na bibilhin ko. help please.

@sis blackshirt, yup pwede mo iregister syo yung kindle kahit iba yung bumili (reseller). I don't know about the warranty though. Kung legitimate reseller pwede siguro. If not, just ask the reslerr kung kelan niya binili sa Amazon para alam mo kung kelan pa yung warranty.

any yung restrictions sa returns nun 114 na kindle? ngayon ko lang napansin to, medyo na-convince pa naman ako ni sis andi_mom na yun na kunin instead na yun 139.

a reseller told me that the special offers one ata ay restricted sa US ang warranty or something to that effect. kaya i opted for the regular wifi one.

btw, sisses, nagkaaberya and my kindle will be delivered on aug 1 sa office ng friend ko sa US. problem is she is leaving on the 31st. so malamang wala pa rin ako kindle, unless maexpedite ng amazon ang shipping. kaya ba ng 2-3days upon telling me na being prepared for shipping na yung kindle? i am so "scared." naka super saver shipping kasi sya, together with other items, which were delivered after a day or two lang after placement of order. I am crossing ALL my fingers that they deliver it by friday there. this AM lang kasi naclear yung payment. If ever, i don't know what to do.

^ ang alam ko sis, sa US lang available yung ad-supported kindle pero worldwide din warranty nya. mega basa kasi ako, same lang sila ng warranty nun 139 na kindle. anyway, you can always say na "gift" yung ad-supported kindle mo pag gamit mo na outside US at nagkaaberya.

anywho, can't you expedite the shipment  or something? or if all else fails, maybe you can divert the shipping to johnny air cargo para madala dito sa yo yung kindle at iba mo pa binili. yun nga lang, you have to pay extra pa for that.

^sis blackshirt, no prob kung erase mo na yung isang coment, actually i was trying to erase it last night but i couldn't see how to do it.

Regarding sa 114 na kindle, i checked Amazon's website and i saw that if you're buying the kindle there and you're from the Philippines, it will tell that you can't purchase the 114 kindle and instead will direct you to the 139 one. I guess because the ads cannot be activated here. But I think the warranty still holds. Sis blackshirt, since you'll be purchasing the 114 kindle from ebay.ph, ifever something unfortunate happen and you try to call Amamzon's customer service, you can just say that a friend from the US bought it and gave it to you as a gift. So dapat palitan pa din nila yun basta under warranty pa.

ganun pala, sayang dapat yung cheaper na lang binili ko. oh well.

kung di aabot sa pag-uwi ng friend ko, papasend na lang nya dito upon its arrival. anticlimactic nga lang kasi sobrang gigil nako sa kindle, as in susunduin ko sya sa airport ng 11pm para lang makuha ko na agad sana.

mga sis, di ko alam kung dito ko ba dapat itanong. i was converting some files in calibre to mobi format at napansin ko may .opf na file. pag ba nilipat ko sa kindle yung mobibooks e kelangan kasama yung mga .opf files? o carry lang na wag na? concerned kasi ako na makakatake up pa ng space. plano ko kasi yung 1GB na space for mp3s para me music ako habang nagbabasa. so mga 2GB na lang ang pwede ko maokupa ng ebooks. i read somewhere na mga 3GB lang nung 4GB capacity ng kindle ang pwede ma-utilize.

^sis san mo nakita yung.opf na files? ako basta naconvert na siya sa .mobi, transfer na agad sa kindle.

My only gripe about the Kindle is the charger cable.  After about 3 years it's completely frayed, reviews online about the cable are terrible.  I had to wrap the cable in electrical tape just to hold it together. Good thing I have other micro usb cables that I could use.

mga sis, calibre talaga gamit nyo pag-transfer ng e-books from laptop to kindle?

^yup sis, that's the only thing I use. I always look for ebooks on the net kasi. Saka dati we share our ebooks here in GT dun sa isang thread (before kami pagbawalan ) and usually pdf or epub ang files so we need to convert it pa accdg. to our ereaders. So calibre talaga ang ginagamit ko eversince para isahan na lang.

ahh, okies. most of the e-books na nado-download ko naman eh mobi, azw or prc format so no need to convert. but i do like that i can edit the metadata and search for book covers using calibre. parang itunes lang.
