We have the safety first 3 in 1 potty chair, pero ayaw gamitin ni baby yung chair, mas prefer niya yung potty seat, which is fine for me, para derecho na sa cr ang wee-wee or poop... The first time I attempted to potty train her, grabe super toxic, I let her wear panty, then the next day pajama naman para less messy, kaso ganun pa din, kahit anong upo niya, di talaga siya magwee-wee, kung kelan nakatatayo na siya tsaka lang.. after 2 days I gave up..

Right now, balik lampin with diaper cover kami, para less mess, since wala akong yaya.. I just check on her from time to time, if nag-wee, then alright, pero if dry, I would bring her to the cr... so far, so good, di pa siya 100% potty trained, but I'm in no rush, I know we'll get there  ;) basta huwag lang ako kukulitin ni MIL na dapat marunong na si baby as in NOW NA!!  ::) ::)

One of my officemates gave my baby a potty chair. She's just 6 months. mukhang matatagalan pa bago siya makaupo dun. what age ba normally pwede ipagamit sa baby yun?

^For me sis, 6 months parang too early pa yun, kasi babies around that age, nags-start pa lang umupo, I suggest you wait a little bit pa... Some mommies started potty training their babies after their first birthday (though for me early pa din kasi they're just learning to walk, and talk) ako kasi, I started (semi) potty training baby around 20 months old, I say semi kasi hindi continuous  :D then bumili kami ng potty chair around that time  ;)

But if you really want to use your potty chair, kahit di pa marunong maglakad si baby, ang ginagawa ng ibang mga mommies, dinadala talaga sa potty chair para dun magwee-wee. Better use lampin also, so you'll know baby's wee-wee routine  ;)

^^we started introducing his potty chair when he was 18months old. But the potty seat was more efficient than the chair. But he's not yet fully trained. Poopoo lang.

i tried potty training my firstborn but unfortunately di talaga ubra. he's 2 1/2 years old and he still poops on the toilet floor. i think he's scared sa toilet bowl mag sit kahit na ilang beses ko sya assure na hawakan ko sya.we bought him his potty chair a year ago and now he's too big for that. he's a bit chubby and masikip na sa kanya yung chair. and ayaw nya talaga sa chair. he's always constipated and feeling ko di sya masyado nakakairi, hehe.. my daughter who just turned one, sya naman yung tinitrain namin, and parang ok naman sa kanya ang potty. We'll see..

^^sis yapeegurl, how old na si baby mo? paano mo ni-train si baby about sa poop? marunong na ba siya mag-inform when he/she feels the urge?

hi sis mishmish :) he's 2yrs 3 months.. he's not 100% fully potty trained sa poop.. pag sa house trained sya.. but when we're out, hindi nya kaya.. nalilibang ata sa paglalaro kaya he will not tell if he wants to poo. But yup, i think he feels the urge to poo kasi he'll touch his tummy and say "mommy ouch tummy poo poo kyle".

sa weewee super fail pa :(

It's not just a matter of being able to verbalize the need to poo or wee.  For the latter, your child's bladder control should have been developed na rin.  Check if his nappy remains dry for several hours (e.g., when he sleeps at night or takes a nap during the day).  If it remains dry for extended periods, his bladder control is getting better and he may be ready for toilet-training.

^sis marose, thanks for the info, my baby is 2 yrs old na, pero pansin ko every hour pa din siya kung mag wee-wee, very rare yung afternoon nap niya na gigising siyang dry ang lampin  :-\

^ In that case, I suggest that you wait until your child's control over his bladder gets better.  Mahirap kasi i-potty train if his body is not ready yet.  Mas madali kung kaya na niya i-control ang bladder niya.

We started potty-training my kids when they were 2 1/2 years old.  At first, poo din lang ang kaya nila i-verbalize.  When they went to preschool, na-reinforce what we do at home.  Una, sa nap time, tinanggal namin ang nappies then sa bedtime.  A few months after they turned 3 years old, they were nappy-free already. ;D

kaya pala mas mahirap ang wee sa poo because of the bladder control factor. Hindi ko pa namomonitor how many times a day sya mag weewee and ang interval for every weewee. I'll ask his yaya to do it for me :) thanks marose..

so far ok naman ang anak ko with his weewee at poopoo - kapag gising at hindi nalilibang sa paglalaro. hindi ko pa madirediretso ang training nya while sleeping kasi hindi pa ako handa sa laundry and the smell ng bed. pero nagsasabi sya talaga ng weewee or poopoo kapag wala syang diaper. kapag meron syang diaper, deadma na sya. alam nyang pwede. bed wetting na lang ang hindi ko pa naaalis sa kanya. paano kayo nagstart? basta wala na lang diapers? i'm thinking of just waking him up every three hours at night to pee para makasanayan nya.

i'd like to share our potty training experience kaya i'm slowly documenting it on my blog.

have you heard of elimination communication? as in diaper-free since birth? i'm going to try this out for our next baby, IF we get pregnant ulit.
