Difficult Interview Questions and Winning Answers (part II)

i'm planning to apply for team lead position. ano kayang maganda isasagot ko pag tinanong ako "why do you want to be a team leader?" and paano ko sasagutin yung scenario na "site a situation where you become a leader"? eh problem parang wala naman akong maalala na nag lead ako

Is it just for the position?

I guess if you're heart isn't into it then it would be hard
to answer.

I don't have plans to be a manager yet but if I do, then
its probably because I would have the chance to mold them
and get them to achieve their fullest potential, etc, etc, ek, ek lol

Wasn't there a situation where your co workers ran around like
chickens without heads and you took charge of the situation and
made it better? If not, then just make up a scenario like that I guess

i was working abroad before then got married in 2009.. so i resigned because i'm preggy. i'd been a housewife for 3yrs. right now i want to apply again.. sa tagal ko wala work humina loob ko sa interview.. what would be the best answer if i might asked about the employment gap.

^just tell them that you took care of your kids and now you're ready to take new challenge. Tell them na even though hindi ka nakapag work ng matagal you keep yourself updated

mga sis/ bros, advise naman..

how should i answer why i want to shift in the it industry? at the top of my head, i want to transfer to a more dynamic industry.. puro matanda na kasi sa present company and everyone's too serious for me.. sa it kasi based on feedback from my sis, karamihan bata bata pa or di kaya young at heart.. i dont want to feel old while im still young.. hehe babaw ba?  plus i think i would fit more here as there continous developments in the field..

also, in my present company, no outings, limited conversations becasuse we're not allowed to talk to each other duirng office hours (even if abt work), boss has favoritism and is actually promoting politics between us, boss doesn't listen to new ideas, no professional growth anymore - we're provided seminars but not allowed to use our learnings..

i want to be honest but dont know how to say these in a positive light / in a winning statement.. or should i say these at all?

When you apply for a company, just research about them and their industry and you "should" know what they do. Try to get pass the interviewing stage and be confident. Now, at the end of the interview, if they ask you if you have any questions for them, that is your time to SHINE.

My experience...
Interview process (stuttering, shaking, damn nervous, sweating like hell, first one-on-one interview in my whole life)
Interviewer: Do you have any questions?

Me: (Since my interview was at the start of the year) What do you think will be the company's top 3 goals/challenges that the company will face this year?
Interviewer: (Pause) (Speechless) Blah blah blah...

Me: I have another question. Just curious, assuming I have worked for you for one year already. What do you expect me to do in order to receive a top flight review from you?
Interviewer: (Pause) (Speechless) (Thinking why the hell is this happening) Blah blah blah...

Interviewer: Thank you for your time. We will let you know in one week about our decision (it was a Friday)

Monday came... (it was a holiday at that time).
I received an email - When are you free for a phone call? We would like to give you a job offer.

After the phone conversation, I was shouting like a madman inside my room the whole day. HAHAHA!
My biggest mistake was not able to negotiate the salary because their initial offer was exactly what I had in mind although I believe I could have gotten a little bit more. Nonetheless, I was happy with the what had happened. I couldn't even believe there was no follow up interview.

Ano objective ni interviewer pag tinatanong nila yan? Whats the best answer?

^ Reply something connected to the company like, "I see myself as a manager" or something like that. Try to say things that your employers WOULD like to hear.

^^ If you say you'll finish your masters, I doubt they'll even consider you.. Haha. Employers are looking for people who will stay with them in the long run because of two simple things - they don't want to restart the hiring process again and training is not that easy/cheap. Depending on the employer, some will really invest on their employees so they prefer those who will stay longer.

Ive been working in retail industry for almost 8 years, and now I'm thinking of moving to another industry. Mostly because the pay is better, but of course I cant really tell that during the interview. So how can I answer being asked why the shift in the industry?

^ Research on the company/industry and tell them the positive sides of it like "it is expected that the ____ industry will grow ____% in the next ___ years. You feel that you will grow and learn a lot more in this company." Share some of your experience which might be useful for that company. Tell them a skill of yours that will stand out from the rest.
