this thread is really helpful. I quit my job before looking for a new one kasi my previous job, which is nightshift, entails a lot of focus, kasi nagrereimburse kami ng pera. so kung inaantok antok ako dahil galing ako ng interview that same day eh yung job ko rin yung magssuffer. sobrang determined talaga ako this time na normal job or normal shift na yung hanapin ko kasi health ko na yung magsusuffer and I feel na mas effective/productive ako during the day (bilang naexperience ko rin naman magdayshift.)

actually, almost 3 weeks na kong naka-break. i know matagal tagal na rin na pahinga to. hehe. (sobrang stressful nung work at environment ng previous job ko, swear!) and medyo anxious ako baka itanong to during interviews. well, im making myself productive pa rin naman kahit nakabakasyon. salamat sa mga tips and pagsshare mga sis! keep 'em coming. magagamit ko to for sure dahil target ko talaga eh makahanap na ng work for this month

hi mga sis! baka pwede nyo ko matulungan sa mga interview questions related sa graduate studies? 
how can you contribute to the society by earning a masters degree? how will you balance your school, work, social, personal life once you are admitted? whats your motivation and how do you plan to finish your masters degree (something to that effect, kasi mukhang pipigain ako kung balak ko ba talagang tapusin yung masters) sana may sumagot. anyways dito ko din nakuha yung mga sagot sa job interviews ko noon! helpful talaga!

Very informative thread! Nasa jobhunting mode ako ngayon. Hoping na makakuha na ng first ever job.

Hope you could help me,
1. what if ang tanong is if you are willing na ma - assign sa malayong lugar, as in sa isang isla ako iaassign?
 Personally kasi, yung totoo, ayoko at hindi pwede, Im planning kasi na mag - Masteral come June (the money na maeearn ko sana sa work e sa ipagMamasteral ko), tapos every 3 weeks e kelangan ko magpadentist (braces  )? Pwede bang yun ang idahilan kung bakit ayaw mong tanggapin yung assignment sa malayo, na I would prefer na mas malapit sana so I can go home kahit every weekends? Or would that be a turndown kaagad kasi tumanggi kaagad ako?

2. At what if they ask kung bakit hindi ako nagattend ng trainings after I passed the board (nursing) ?
Medyo matagal na kasi.. February pa ako pumasa.. ang dahilan ko naman is nakakahiya na humingi ng budget sa parents ko for trainings, malaki na nga gastos sa aral.. tapos after passing, gastos na naman? pero, I dont think it would be an appropriate answer....

3. na - ask din ako bakit di man lang ako nagvolunteer sa hospital while waiting na makahanap ng work?
i dont want to share my answer when I was asked, kasi alam kong super mali.. pero ano sa tingin niyo magandang isagot pag natanong ulit sa akin yan? ang sa akin kasi, I dont want to spend time sa pagvovolunteer on which Id rather spend sa paghahanap ng trabaho kung saan kikita ako ng pera, pero hindi yan yung sinagot ko noon...

^ what job/s are you applying for? my take:

1. depends on the job, that's why i asked. kasi if it's field work, say sales/med rep, you cant really choose your assignment diba? so di uubra yan. but your plan to take up post-graduate studies is a good answer. but what is your goal? what career path do you see for yourself. picture than muna and then set your priorities. some companies naman also give you privileges to come home every so often if they assign to someplace else. but if i were doing te interview ha, and puro no agad ang sagot mo sa mga ganitong questions, i would be turned off unless you can "justify" it, like for example you have a baby and you don't want to be away.

2. anong ginawa mo instead na kumuha ng training? yong mga training ba na yon eh makakatulong sana sa career mo? kasi kung walang budget ang parents, maybe you could have worked for it. nag work ka and saved up for the training. kung gusto may paraan, kung ayaw may dahilan.

3. you can say na you had to be practical. times are hard and you had to earn some money to help your parents out. possible to relate also to number 2.

again, i ask. ano bang gusto mo maging? from the answers you gave kasi, parang feeling ko hindi ka masyadong driven. some companies look for that eh, the drive to excel, to do what you have to do to get to where you want to go. parang di ko nakita yan sa mga points na binigay mo. but i could be wrong - baka na misunderstand ko.

when asked what is your expected salary do you tell exact how much or may range?

sis based sa nabasa ko dito, what i tell is my expected salary is based on the annual benefit package, kapag nagtanong talaga sila ng specific amount, then i tell them i want an XX% increase in my net income.

is it wrong ba to say a specific amount? sometimes kasi feeling ko oo cause I might be asking too high that it might turn them off or something?

^ i give my expected net monthly salary. not a range, a specific figure. but i always follow that this is negotiable depending on the entire package.

it helps to know the industry average so you know if what if you are asking for is within the range for the position you are applying for or for your qualifications.

Hindi na ako sanay, It's been 2 yrs since my last interview. 2 years din kasi ako tambay because of my quest to have a baby pero no luck pa rin, so work na lang muna..
