I have a question. Do we need to give a gift to the officiant/pastor? Sa Catholic weddings ata may bayad ang priests. Di ko sure ah. How about sa Christian weddings? We're planning to give something to our pastor but not sure if it has to be in cash or in kind. If it's cash, what do you think is a presentable amount?

^On our wedding, we gave monetary lovegift sa pastor. The amount depends on you sis, kung magkano gusto/kaya nyo (take into consideration kung malayo location ng wedding mo, kc transpo cost..etc)

Sis, we call it honorarium. you can give gifts..and /or cash. But we'll probably give both..

question sissies, ano ba pinagkaiba ng requirements if pastor or priest ang officiant?

h2b is a christian and we're looking at his pastor friend to officiate. however, we won't get in touch with him pa until june/july eh sept wedding namin. so we have to have a back up plan. i know a missionary priest who can also officiate kaso he needs at least 4 months lead time. ang alam ko lang kasi walang pre-cana seminar kay priest, he just wants to have a day with us para makausap kami. yun na yung pinakaseminar nya.

^sis ang alam ko pag christian wedding,  it's either pastor/minister or a bishop. Ours is a bishop. Di ko parinig yung priest sa mga christian weddings.

^actually sis i'm not sure about the terminologies. i agree with you that if a pastor officiated then it is a christian wedding. but my priest friend is allowed by his ministry to officiate outside the church since he's missionary and he said pope francis is not really strict about it.

i'm just curious. if a pastor officiates, meron din bang mga requirement na gaya ng sa church? like do we need to attend a seminar, interview, confession? may wedding banns din ba?

^yes sis meron din. The Pastor's office should organise that for you.

Mga sis. Other than sa napost sa taas baka may alam pa kayong church na place talaga (not function room/beach/garden) for ceremony. Gusto ko kasi sana yung ellinwood pero ayaw ng iba yung parking area.

^wow talaga sis? hehe. ganda dyan. we just opted one place for ceremony and reception kaya hindi kami natuloy dyan. san reception nio sis?

Reception will be at the glass garden sis marelen. true about cotrl, just bring your own officiant. on our wedding,  we're having Bishop Louie Santos of Friends Again to solemnize. Blessing for the couple --we're not yet sure since my in-laws are a family of church ministers so baka isa sa kanila.
