I use the distraction method.

^Marcia, I read somewhere na if the kid is having tantrums at a public place, it's best to remove him from the situation like take him out of the resto or something. When they cry and attract attention, it gets embarrasing din daw kase for the kids. I have yet to try that out kase baby pa lang naman si Zoe pero one time kase we were eating out and it was really crowded, mejo na-stress yata sa ingay si Zoe so she started crying too, as in top of her lungs cry na parang sinasaktan sya. I asked her yaya to bring her out of the resto and mag-stroll muna sila, she did stop crying naman.

Hmm... Salamat sa idea, i guess i need to read on those topics na. :)

Grocery day today!

Can't backread it all .. just want to say hi while the kiddos are all out (including baby) in the wading pool with hubby.

@Marose - our pedias are on the same floor in TMC. 10th right? Kay Dra. Alonzo kami near Dra. Tippy. And your optha is on the other side? Madaming patients parati.

As for the spanking, I was also makulit and got the taste of the belt way back. Paano naman kasi ayoko mamigay ng Hubba Bubba bubble gum eh I had a 10 pack. Wala lang. Swapang lola mo! hahaha! And when my childhood friend asked and I didn't want, nagbanta, nag-away kami and I stuck the gum I was chewing on his tuktok. And there was a party going on.  Siempre, dapa ako and palo! But I didn't take it against my dad. It was worth the evil eye I gave our family friend's kid when I saw his head shaved!

Shoppersville? I love the taisan cupcakes! Sarap! And the snickerdoodle cookies! Even their pandesal is a winner.

Dati, kumukuha ako diyan for the monthly birthday cakes of the twins.  Sa C-5 Pasig naman.

Grace, our main pedia is from St. Luke's QC.  We go to Dr. Tippy for developmental check-ups (gusto ko lang haha) and Dr. Pauline for eye check-ups (gusto ko lang din). :)

I like her secretary kasi organized.  Hindi tulad ng secretary ni Dr. Tanchanco.

I'm watching the beatification of Pope John Paul II on BBC/CNN now.  Grabe!  I was in first or second grade when he first came to Manila!

Dette, i have clorox wipes din. Parang ginawa ko siyang wall to wall carpet so i think parang impractical na linisin ng ganon. At least mas madaling linisin.

May iba namang ways to discipline a child. My sister in law kung papagalitan/papagsabihan ang anak niya, both of them go to a different room. Silang 2 lang at don niya kakausapin. We dont know for sure if she spanks her but we think kahit papano may effect naman na maganda kasi disiplinado ang anak nila. Kahit na when they left their daughter with us for a month last year, nakita namin disiplanado siya. Like when i was giving her m&ms, she said 5 pcs lang. I said she could have more but she replied enough na because she's had her share. Tapos she asked to brush her teeth kasi her dad said daw pag kumain siya chocolates, she needs to make sure she brushes her teeth. She wanted to brush nga right after. I wanted to buy her toys but she said her dad said no more toys so she'll look na lang daw. My sister gave her a play doh set. When she got it she asked if toy ba daw yon kasi she cant have any more new toys daw. You dont really need to spank, just explain things well and be firm. Hindi yung tipong pina stand in the corner tapos umiyak lang tama na. Sana i have the patience being a parent entails pagdating sa pagdidisiplina ng anak.

Sa kabilang table may baby, siguro around a year old, starting to walk eh. Grabe makahiyaw. As in ibang klase talaga. Nagugulat si b. Nainis ako kasi parang walang ginagawA yung magulang. If that's even possible, i dont know. Pero sana.

Jen, anong balita? Na-order mo na?

Leave ako bukas! I'm going to my old office in alabang to get my documents (itr, proofs of contributions, etc) then i'm having lunch with my mga dating staff. Then sa hapon, i'm going to a prospective employer's office for job offer. Tapos grocery. Hectic ako bukas! Today dapat ako mag-grocery pero daming tao kasi payday weekend tapos kasama pa si b, madaming tao.

I bought karen katz books pala and some board books made from recycled paper that talk about how to help save the environment.

Grayce, thanks sa tip about SI in trinoma. I tried it out kanina. Masarap yung yema nila! Masarap din ang mongolian compared to other stores. Thanks marose for the idea! :) ang ayoko lang is while eating, may isang babae doon na customer na ubo ng ubo. Fine tinatakpan nya yung mouth niya. But the hand she used for covering her mouth is the same hand she uses to hold the serving spoons! Hayayay!

Lisa, hindi pala sapat yung standing in the corner? Iniisip ko tuloy to wait for my daughter to grow older so i can talk some sense into her na. Btw, buti ka pa pto tomorrow! Enjoy your day!

Even the meats, at leaast they have monterey and magnolia. SM kasi wala. Even Rustan's walang monterey.

i guess when kids get older they understand better.. stage talaga yung terrible 2's 3's and 4's.. i remember my niece grabe mag tantrums din. minsan lang pinapalo yun ng brother ko pag super kulit na... tinitignan lang ng masama ng kuya ko then titigil na sya.. she's now 7 and behaved sya lagi..

si gianna naman nangaaway ng bata... she's not used to being around kids.. she likes older kids and babies she likes... pero yung sing age nya.. inaaway nya! like her cousin ..nako sinasapok nya..lalo kapag nawawala yung attention sa kanya.. stage lang naman yun i know..pinagsasabihan naman namin sabay hug nya sabay sapokin nya uli! hay!

marcia..

marcia, actually swiffer na ang panglinis namin don ngayon. even in our bedroom. i like this kasi dumidikit yung dust talaga. but i use the dry swiffer lang. better ba kung yung wet?

tingin ko sa ibang bata enough naman ang stand in the corner. but i think dapat may kasama pa ding explanation diba? one of my nieces laging pinapa stand in the corner. one day nagulat na lang yung cousin ko kasi natuklap na yung isang malaking part ng wall paper nila. kaya pala daw nagtataka siya na tahimik yung bata sa corner eh usually umiiyak. tapos yon, nakita kinukukot pala yung wall paper, busy kaya di umiiyak.

my niece sa kwento ko kanina, si gabbi, was 3.5 years old when she was here summer of last year. naalala ko pa nung umuwi sila ulit last feb lang, we came from sm makati pero 9pm na yata non di pa kami nagd-dinner, sa house na lang dapat kasi nagluto mom ko. eh gutom na si gabbi. nung nasa magallanes na kami, i asked her if she wanted to eat. sabi ng daddy niya she can have a burger if she's really hungry na. sabi niya ok lang sa house na lang. tapos wala pang 5 minutes sabi niya daddy, sorry i lied. gusto daw niya ng burger kasi gutom na gutom na siya. 4+ na siya nito.

i'm sure nagt-tantrums din yan pero from that whole month na she stayed with me in my house without her parents almost every day, nakita ko na nadisiplina talaga siya ng maayos. nakakatuwa. i've never lived with a child that age before so i didn't know what to expect. akala ko mahihirapan ako sa kanya but she was very easy to take care of. so now i oftentimes ask my brother and his wife for advice when it comes to child-rearing kasi i see them as role models. itong brother ko na to mas bata sakin ha but among the 5 of us, he's the most sensible sometimes. bilib ako sa kanya.

gaya din nung sinabi ni dette, ayaw din pala ng brother ko yung word na hate. and sabi niya wag ko daw sabihin na "that's bad". better choice of words daw ang "that's not good".

Lia, have you seen the Playmobil Victorian dollhouse?  It's gorgeous!

See here: http://store.playmobilusa.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-US-Site/en_US/Search-Show?cgid=Puppenhaus

I want to buy a Playmobil set for my boys for their fourth birthday.  Pansin ko kasi very active ang imagination nila these days and they enjoy role-playing and pretend play.  Kahit silang dalawa lang ang nagkakaintindihan minsan.  Super aliw kapag ganyan sila kasi kahit busy ako hindi nila ako ginagambala.

I want sana the soccer set pero out of stock sa Build City in Rockwell.  Last December meron pang mga ganoon sa Build City Trinoma and Hobbes and Landes Greenbelt.  Or, puwede rin iba.

I gave a small Playmobil set (yung less than 1k) as gift for Milo's classmate last week who turned 4 years old and judging from his reaction, mukhang okay at ready na nga ang four year old boys for a Playmobil set.  Plan ko dating bilhin iyan for Christmas for my kids kaso naisip ko baka hindi pa sila ready at magkawalaan lang ang pieces, like their Lego Duplo set.   Pero ngayon gusto ko na.  They are also asking for a basketball ring and I asked my mom to give them the Little Tikes basketball ring for their birthday. :)

Incidentally, we saw Ging Lorenzo and her husband at KR too.  Ging is giving birth in July pala, boy din.  HIndi pa niya tapos ang album for last year's party pero nahihiya akong i-follow-up kasi nga preggy siya.

Lia ulit, mukhang bagay kay Gianna ang Montessori preschool kasi kids of different ages (2 1/2-6 years old) ang composition ng classroom.  My son Marty isn't the sociable type but he mixes more with his age-mates.  Milo, on the other hand, is very sociable, has a group na nga (4 four-year old boys din) sa school and he also looks up to the older boys 6 years above. I had to explain that he won't be seeing them this coming school year.

Marcia, may SI sa Trinoma?  Saan?

Hay, miss ko na rin ang Landmark!  Matagal-tagal na kong di nakakapunta diyan kasi hindi ko na hinahatid ang hubby ko sa MRT since he finished his post-grad course na.  Dati kasi, every Saturday, I'd bring my husband to the MRT station at Trinoma kasi may classes siya sa AIM.

I like the meats at Rustan's, yung Aussie beef.  Malinis pa sila mag-handle.  Sa Shopwise okay din.  Lately, doon ako sa Rustan's Katips for small groceries like kanina and Shopwise for big grocery outings. I use their eco bags to get double points.  Tapos, may 5-10% discount on certain items on your next visit.  What I like about Rustan's is yung mga buy 1 kg take 1kg/take 500 g on meats, chicken and fish.  Diyan ako nakakabili ng buy 1 take 1 cream dory fillet.

Lisa, re stand in the corner does not work for my children.  They seem to enjoy it pa!  Kasi, what happens usually, pag may 1 boy na ipapa-time out ko sa corner, yung isa mag-uusyoso at sasamahan.  So naging solidarity thing pa among them at nag-enjoy pa sila.

And true, masarap i-partner sa kape.

Electronic billing kase kame kaya wala dumadating na bill dito from postman. Di tuloy namin alam ano ang address. Ako na lang ba hinhintay? Kakahiya naman.

Jen, dapat yung name and billing address ng credit card account exacto as it appears on the bill para tanggapin ni amazon. citibank ba? if yes, yung electronic statement looks exactly like the paper statement naman so nandon pa din dapat yung name and address. so far, from the items na ako ang nag-order, the latest ETA is may 10.

RE meats naman, ako gusto ko yung beef, chicken and pork sa s&r. sometimes i buy lamb chops din, depends if i have mint jelly or not. for fish, i rarely buy. ang binibili ko lang yung marinated boneless daing na bangus and cream dory. frozen naman.

Natuwa ako sa rustan's early this year kasi andami kong nakuhang voucher sa promo nila na for every 1k, free 100 peso voucher.

Near true value.

Nakabili na kami ng pang mother's day gift sa mom ko and mil ko kanina. :)

Tagal naman matapos nitong UFC.
